Is this flexible enough to stick over curved surface

yes .. it will go over an uneven surface ,like the top of our chair is curved in and it works great, and it went over the arm of the chair with no problems

Can item be used for boats? Sun?

I used is on my boat and it has worked well. It is standing up to sun and 90+ heat. Don't know how it will stand up for the long haul but I don't want to reappolster my seats unless I have to! So far, it also looks nice, too.

Which color is darker than dark brown #3? The couch is almost a black brown.

I think the #2 is darker. If you look for my review I did a screenshot of the colors side by side. The new db is even darker but has a burgundy hue.

Can you recolor the material

I'm not a dye expert but I doubt it. The color I got was true to the online image and was a good match to my car seat.
