Loma Vista New Mexico Mild Red Chili Pods, 7 Ounce Bag

The New Mexico chilis came promptly and were high quality. Made the best 'Ultimate Vegan Chili'!! I ordered mild chilis and they were just right, not too hot for the grandchildren.

I used these to make Texas-style chile with ground beef and beans and it was outstanding... totally worth the extra work involved to make the chili sauce.

First time I'd ever tried them. I made Carne Adovada. They were great. Exactly what I expected

I live in central Texas but originally from New Mexico. I get home once a year and not always when its chili season. I know this area gets "Hatch" chilis, but I wonder if it's from the Hatch valley where I'm from. They can advertise HATCH CHILI but it can come from another area called Hatch. The thing with true Hatch chili is the soil its grown in, it gives it a flavor that doesn't compare to others, so when I saw this brand I picked it up right away. This is true NM chili. When you make the sauce, it is a flavor that is rich and delicious. So good for enchiladas, posole, and anything you can think of, here they use Tex-Mex Ranchero sauce which is like that sauce you use for chili dogs. Definitely not the same. The waitresses can't describe it when asked. So if you can find true NM red chili pods you will get the best flavor for your food. Now this was a little bit more than what I would pay at the market but I needed to make my enchiladas, so it was worth the extra bucks.
