Wish I bought it sooner.
Since I got rid of my pick up I needed another way to transport my 12 ft surf poles. Instead of getting roof racks for my SUV and my car, I decided to give this a try based on reviews. Also the fact that I could quickly and easily use this on diffrent vehicles if I needed too. I know this is better suited for the average fishing pole, more geared toward the smaller freshwater pole and reel compared larget surf poles reels. I was able to use it on the hood and roof of the car. I decided not too, only becuase this time of year with shoe traffic tourism it is not uncommon to get pulled over. Thought it best to avoid the hassle of possibly being pulled over for "obstruction of view". In the picture I have two 12 ft poles and one 7"4 pole. I was choose to take the reels off for the first trip since they are very expensive, and also I was a little weary of how well the magnets would hold. On the way home I drove across a long (very) windy bridge connecting the island to the main land. I decided to hit the highway to see how the rack dod on the highway at 65mph. On the way out I was nervous. Especially since this was not not a short slow drive. Wasnt going fishing at a local lake with ultra light or fly rods. Had the sun roof open and watched the poles/rack incase I had to reach up to grab them or pull over. Not really one to write revies. However I feel I pushed the rack to its limits and it performed flawlessly. Would reccomend and would buy again. A word of caution for those with hatchbacks. (Pictured attached) Be careful opening the hatch if the poles are on top of the roof. I almost broke the eyelet off of my surf pole. The 7ft pole would have been fine. Either take poles off before opening hatch or have poles hang over the front of car.

Seems to be a nice product.
I got excited when I received this item. This seems to be a good product. The magnet is strong and the material is sturdy but flexible. The bungee cord is also strong. You have to be careful when putting this on your car’s roof because it feels like it will cause a dent as the magnet has a strong pull. I haven’t driven it with fishing rods yet but I don’t think it will fly away. The only potential problem I anticipate is the rubber cap on the magnet disintegrating. For the price it would be nice if it comes with spare rubber caps. I mounted it on my truck and tried an 11 ft fishing rod. I will be carrying 4 rods. Well see how this will hold over time. 5 ***** for now. Update after a year. It’s going strong. Holds very well at 60-65 mph. I don’t leave on the roof of my car for 2 reasons, first, it can get stolen and second, too much sun may damage the rubber. Will buy a second set.

Excellent Product at an Excellent Price
This is a great product. I am an avid saltwater fly fisherman. I have used this device to transport up to 6 rods at one time (albeit not on a highway). It has worked like a charm for me. Pay attention when placing it on your car and taking it off. YOu want to lever it off the surface without letting it slide. If it slides there is the chance that any grit caught between the magnetic base and the car will scratch the finish. I used for over 8 weeks and it has not been an issue.

Definitely worth it.
Great product lasted forever held in rain/snow doing 65-70mph in the moutains and hwy. Loaded 2 or 3 fly rods at all times. The wind is always what worried me. Mine went flying off when a gust of wind came up from a semi when I went to pass =(. You will seed your rods start to dance hahaha. Ordering another set .100%

Fishing trip on the plan!
Durable! Very easy to use, might obstruct your view depending ok how much you put on it, but definitely does its job!

Outstanding
Just used the rod holder this past weekend. 6 rods, on top of my SUV roof….. 75mph on the interstate. Not a single issue. My only regret is that I didn’t have something like this 16 years ago when I started fly fishing. The magnetic rack worked perfect. Would recommend, would buy again

Great product, be careful removing them strong magnet,
Great product, I take 4 poles on it at 75mph on the highway for 10 mile stretches and does great but they are just rated for 55mph so keep that in mind. The magnets do have a real strong pull so careful removing them or you could have some minor dents on yout car. It makes fishing from spot to spot super convenient as you dont have to wrestle your pole in and out of a car or truck. As long as your pole is 6ft or bigger there should be no issue.

NOT SAFE Don’t use in Texas heat don’t work, $800 worth of gear damaged because of faulty magnet
I been using it since April first time I’m using it in the summer was driving at 50mph and I heard something snap I saw my rods flying into the road and one of the magnets dragging against my other two rods laying on my truck bed. All my rods are damaged as you can see on the pictures two got snapped my shimano curado got dragged because I couldn’t stop immediately in traffic. Please be careful and use a different solution for carrying your rods
