why has the price for 150 tablets jumped from $25 to $38 in the past few months?

Are the vitamins derived from food or are they synthetic with added fruits and vegetables?

attn Viper or anyone curious about what does and doesnt constitute organic:  
Organic specifically moderates agents used to grow products, like man-made pesticdes, irradiation, sewage sludge; all expressly prohibited from being used when growing or processing organic foods.  It never precludes products grown in a lab.  You can grow vertical gardens of salad with lights and still have it be organic if it satisfies other areas.  GMOs are also expressly forbidden, even if some manipulation might replicate processes in nature.  Everything from a lab is also "from the Earth".  In chemistry, organic means carbon based.  But its still pretty great that we also have this extra "Organic" designation to help us when our FDA didnt give 2 squats about spraying our crops with highly toxic pesticides (not to end world hunger but to increase yield efficiency...lol), fowling the irrigation with livestock antibiotic runoff, etc. If you are of the mind that "Organic" means a bunny pulled it out of the ground and hopped it over to you supported on its unnicked nose... youre probably looking for "whole food" designations.  That means they side with the notion that we would best bennefit from the natural entirety of a whole plant as its grown in the wilds, which I also side with.

are there animal products in this vitamin

They are not vegan. The D3 comes from lanolin (sheep). However, the Just Once vitamin in RL line does contain D2, which is from mushrooms. But as far as which is better absorbed, the D3 is best as it is the type we create from the sun.
