useful
Anything from this author is good. He was a real translator. People need to know what the gods of Sumer did. Although Kramer tends to believe they were mythical (not real), look past his personal belief to learn more about those real flesh-and-blood gods.

Key work by a great scholar.
Plenty in this book brings the background of modern thought into the foreground. He's a treat scholar and a very articulate thinker.

Very well written and researched with extraordinary explanations to keep ancient concepts clear in the reader's mind.I
I have read Gilgamesh and was always curious about Sumeria. This book exposed to me the ancient thought, logic and philosophy behind Sumerian myth.

Good extra biblical references
Good reference for knowing near east civilisation. It IS a fruitful source for extra biblical references in order to explore the Old Testament

Received a defective kindle copy
I have only read a few chapters. I find this book interesting, well researched and written. However I received a defective copy on my Kindle. I have tried to find a place to report my defective copy on Amazon, but I have not succeeded. At the end of all chapters I have read so far, the last sentence is incomplete. I hope it's just the last sentence, not one or more paragraphs.
