Very useful for book/document repair
Great product to repair tears in delicate papers. Itโs useful to me for repairing Bible pages, vintage papers, letters, old family paper treasures/mementos and things like that. I will repurchase as neeeded, but it seems to go a long way if you are careful. The tape adheres well without damaging the document.

Easy to use and works well
Why did you pick this product vs others?: I needed a good quality tape to repair a book separation. This tape is very sheer, but still shows if you wonder about it. Has a very good adhesion to the item. Feels very strong when applying it. Used on an old cookbook I've owned for 48 years and love the result.

Ephemera-safe, acid -free, versatile
This is wonderfully useful, and I am only sorry that I wasn't aware of its existence until recently I have a number of hundred-year-old music magazines that are getting tattered on the edges and need reinforcement to tolerate page turning. The tape has done very well. Other options such as acid-free book tape are sturdy enough but are very thick and don't lend themselves to this kind of use. I bought a big roll and I'm certainly glad that I did.

Worked Great For Old Docs/Photos
The tape worked great for some repairs I needed to do on an old photograph. The only complaint I have is it is VERY hard to get the backing started to peel it off, there might be a trick to it I dont know yet so maybe.... the tape itself is great though and blends itself in which is nice.

Such a terrific tape to neatley mend anything of paper! ๐ฅ๐โญ
I could not find myself happier with this tape for it is nothing but a true gift for those who need highly reliable, yet beautiful mending tape for paper! ๐ฅฐ๐ Not only does it mend torn book pages, it elegantly mends old sewing pattern pieces on a fragile thin paper with ease and involves no messing with a glue or tedious glue marks left behind - just remove the backing paper, place the thin, yet strong tape onto the torn part, and polish it carefully - to then have the item as new! ๐ชโญ I used an inexpensive natural polished agate coral stone for working the tape onto the paper, and it worked wonderfully for this very purpose, no need for expensive speciality tools at all, so I would highly recommend it to everyone! ๐ฅฐ๐

Works on Torn Dust Jackets
I've used this product extensively to mend tears in the dust jackets of books. It adheres strongly, is commendably thin, and works very well. I have repaired jackets that were in three or four pieces. They are now functional again (and I put them in a Brodart cover for further preservation). Of course, if placed inside the jacket the tape is invisible. However, some jackets are so badly damaged I have to place the tape on both sides of the tear. If the outer finish of the jacket is matte, the tape more or less disappears other than to mute any darker colors. On a glossy finish it is quite visible. This is a trade-off. I need to find a glossy tape that is as good. The product is claimed to be reversible with mineral spirits and I have found this claim to be accurate. Once I had to do this (the jacket was in pieces and I taped them together wrong) and it worked. A tip: don't be in a hurry. Get the paper good and wet with the mineral spirits and give the tape adhesive time to soften and release. Otherwise--as happened to me before I slowed down the process--the tape started to peel away the outer layer of paper when I tried to pull the tape off. I don't know the effect of mineral spirits on all dust jackets, but on the one I tried--which was uncoated paper--the chemical evaporated after a while leaving no visible trace. In sum, the product is what it claims to be and is recommended.

Love this tape for Bible tip-ins.
This tape holds in my tip-ins inside my Bible and bonus - I can write on it. It does leave a slight haze on the paper (it is not fully clear). The only issue is how hard it is to pull the tape from the backing at first. It takes a minute or two to get the setup started using the package as a dispenser. First, I have to slowly peel the sticker off the bottom of the package, then unflap the small piece with the instructions on it before unflapping the large bottom. Unroll part of the tape and put it back in the box while part of the tape is sticking out near where the small box flap is. Close the bottom of the box with part of the tape sticking out. Separate the tape from the backing and then lay the backing across the bottom and close the small flap. (Use a small piece of the tape to seal the flap.

Good product, but inspect tape before use
It was next to impossible to initially get the tape separated from the paper backing. Once separated, I was very worried the tape was not sheer enough. To my surprise, it both stuck to the page with amazing strength, and you can hardly tell the tape is on the page. I am pleased with the outcome. It deserves 5 stars, were it not for the following flaw. I did NOT expect to have stripes of glue on the face of the tape, like railroad tracks, 1/3 of the way into the roll. There was some adhesive towards the beginning of the roll to tack it down; not surprising. I did not expect adhesive further into the roll. I finished taping a large irreplaceable out-of-print children's book on one side of the page. It looked very good. So I taped the other side as well. After the tape was applied, I noticed long strips of glue on the tape (see pic). It looked terrible, and the glue was a little tacky (sticky) -- I was worried that it would stick to the opposing page when the book is closed. So I attempted to remove the tape and try again. When you peal it off of a page, it shreds, and leaves adhesive behind. It took HOURS to remove the tape, and would have been impossible if the page wasn't heavier bond semi-gloss paper, which made it possible to use a dull paring knife. In the end, I couldn't remove all of the adhesive, but got enough off so it still looks descent, and the page is repaired. I'm disappointed that a good product has a flaw like that. Be sure to inspect the tape before you use it.

Worth the money
I did a lot of reading on archival/document repair tape before blindly diving in and buying the first thing that caught my eye, and this appeared to be one of the best products out there for my needs. The tape is very impressive and worth the money. I have read and seen reviews on various websites stating how difficult it is to remove this tape from its backing. To be fair, it can be pretty tricky - but you're also not dealing with Scotch Tape here. This tape is thin like rice paper (maybe thinner) and needs to be more protected. There are several ways to remove this tape, including: bending a small corner to loosen the tape from the backing, using your fingernails or a knife. I discovered my own method of removing it, and I would suggest to anyone purchasing this tape to practice with a small piece of it first to see what method works best for you. Like anything else in life, you need to practice before getting the hang of it. This tape is not completely invisible, but then again no tape is. If you're using the tape to repair dust jackets or one-sided documents, then I would suggest making the repairs on the reverse side of these things so that no tape is visible from the front. I have already tested this on one dust jacket and one document, and repairing from the opposite side only works exceptionally well. This product is definitely worth the money, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a safe way to repair documents and other paper related items.

Long Wait but arrived OK.
Ordered Dec 27th, arrived Jan 9th....Hmmm. No harm done, but 15 days from Canada to Canada! I wasn't expecting a quick delivery over the holiday season anyway and didn't need it immediately....not expedited, regular shipping. But, I ordered something from New York on Dec 28th and it was at my door on Dec 30th...also not expedited, and that had to cross a border. Why such a difference? Just curious. Used the product (archival tape) to repair some minor tears and secure the edges of some works-on-paper (drawings, stone lithographs and mixed media work...etc.)
