Urine test strips made me want to scratch my head -- but I couldn't because one hand was clutching the bottle with the color guide while the other was holding the used strip. Every time, the best I walked away with was...a good guess. Breath analyzers were a joke. Depending on how hard I blew, I would get readings anywhere from 0.5 to 8.9 -- within a 5 min time frame. What? Sure, I could probably, eventually train myself to blow consistently, but how do I know what "breath strength" will give me the right readings? So I finally caved and splurged on this blood meter. Blood meters are the most expensive option, since I'll likely have to buy blood test strips and lancets forever...or for as long as I stick to the Keto diet, anyway. But I'd rather pay more for something that's accurate and consistent than save money on things that might or might not work, right? I was able to open the box and get the whole shebang going within a minute. The directions were simple and easy to follow (a bit redundant, though, to have the quick start guide AND the owner's manual AND the paper insert, all with the exact same instructions). And, thank goodness, they're in perfect, easy-to-understand English and not in size 2 font (I hate instruction manuals that come in teeny tiny print!). The lancet holder was intuitive to lock & load, the test strips were in a secure capsule, the meter itself only needed batteries (included) to get up and running, loading the test strip into the meter was simple, and... really, what took the longest was trying to guess which number setting to use with the lancet to draw enough blood without hurting myself, then actually gathering the courage to do the deed. I started at 2, but it wasn't strong enough to draw any blood, so I took a deep breath, moved the dial to 3, and...click! Second time was the charm. Perfect little drop of blood, and absolutely NO pain at all. I'd worried for nothing! Placed the blood drop against the strip, heard a beep, waited 10 seconds, and - voila - a clear reading of 2.9, exactly where I wanted to and should have been. This is my first time using a blood meter, so I don't have a basis of comparison with other brands and models, but KetoBM definitely does exactly what I need it to do. It even saves your last 180 readings, including time and date of the readings. And bonus -- everything comes neatly packed in a handy, compact storage case. No guesswork, no head scratching, no straining my eyes at a tiny pee stick trying to compare one shade of mauve to a slightly darker shade of mauve, no blowing into a breath meter to the point of dizziness, trying and trying again only to get 10 different readings. Just load, lock, prick, and...done! Why didn't I get this blood meter sooner?

I am a Keto newbie. After a great deal of reading on what the Keto diet really is, and why it's good for the body, I decided I would give it a try. I have some serious inflammatory issues and felt this approach could help. I ordered the KetoBM meter after much research on why I should use blood meter (over urine or breath). I knew if I was going to embark on this journey, I needed to 'measure' if I was doing it correctly or not. The KetoBM meter arrived very quickly, is affordable, and super easy to use. No pre-programming required. I inserted the test strip, pricked my finger, put the small drop of blood on the end of the test strip and waited 10 seconds. It was so motivating to see on the meter for the first time I was in ketosis, about a week of adjusting my diet. I can now also see each day what I might need to adjust from the day before. (I currently test in the morning) This helps me learn about what works for my body. I highly recommend the KetoBM monitor. It's affordable, easy to use and as far as I can tell, it's accurate and reliable.

This is a great tool! Easy to use and so helpful with ! Comes with both glucose and ketone tests. The app has video tutorials on how to use. So much better than the urine tests!

Easy enough to use however, the app is very hit and miss with downloading results. It does not log Ketone readings at all, (I was able to get 2 logged, that’s all), and Glucose readings are inconsistently recorded. There was absolutely no information included with the device about the app. I only found out about it by reading reviews and had to search for it in the App Store. It’s almost like they don’t want you to use the app. Anyway, it could be better. Replacement Glucose and Ketone strips are very expensive and it’s isn’t unusual to get Error messages, necessitating the use of another new strip. Make sure you get enough blood, it requires more than you think you need.

Was impressed with the initial low cost. However, setup of date/time was not well explained and could only be setup in 24 military time and not normal 12/12 time. Next to date/time button was a switch and I spent 10 minutes trying to figure out its purpose only to find in small fine print on bottom of instruction page that switch is useless and ignore it. Wow, poor engineering to be sure. I inserted batteries and set up time and date and proceeded to test my keto level. Ok, here is where it goes very wrong! I proceeded to do my first test. The test went well and a 10 second countdown commenced and I received my keto reading of 6.4! 6.4, their graph in their paperwork went up to high of 5.0! I researched this number to learn that I was in danger of keto acidosis and should seek emergency medical help immediately! I could collapse and go into a coma! I was shocked and decided to do another test. Shortly thereafter I performed a second test only to find it incredibly went up even higher to 7.1! I was on the verge of going to the hospital although I felt fine. I did some more quick research and decided to do a 3rd test. After the 3rd test my level was 2.1. What a relief as I didn’t have any of the symptoms and felt fine. I can’t tell you how much this shook me up! I also remember seeing in the reviews that one complaint was the meter gave different readings, I’m here to confirm this. DO NOT buy this product. I purchased the Keto Mojo. While it cost more it has both glucose and keto readings and the company has a long excellent reputation and good customer support and most importantly a keto/glucose meter that gives consistent accurate readings. It also has a great phone app which works flawlessly. Hope my disaster helps someone. Good luck!

Exactly what I was looking for, easy to understand instruction and worked perfectly right out of the box with no issues. I was very reasonably priced - but the test strips are pricy - I tested my ketones every 3 days at first then every 5 days afterwards ... only because the strips are pricey I was 100% satisfied. sp much better and more accurate that the urine strips Highly recommended to monitor your progress

I've been on ketogenic diet for the last 2 years, and have used a few different meters. This one is my favorite so far. It's accurate ( images one and two show my morning ketone readings 9 min apart), easy to use and test strips are reasonably priced. Test strips itself are high quality and absorb blood sample very fast, this helps prevent error readings and waste of strips. To avoid "E02" error do not touch arrow area of the strip when inserting it in the meter. {The seller's video shows how to do this ) The meter doesn't need to be calibrated or coded. I bought another meter as a gift to my friend ,who wants to try Keto diet.I decided to check how new one works. Very close results on the image were taken from the same drop of blood. Update: before KetoBM one of the meters I used was Keto-Mojo . ( KetoBM is easier to use especially for a new user) I compared them both and got identical results from the same drop of blood.

Attention, ne faites pas la même erreur que moi : c’est un lecteur de cétones, PAS de glycémie. Donc si vous cherchez à suivre votre taux de sucre, passez votre chemin, ça ne fonctionnera pas pour ça. Cela dit, je l’ai gardé quand même, parce qu’il fonctionne très bien, il est précis, rapide, compact, et la petite pochette fournie est super pratique : tout est bien rangé, facile à emporter partout. Très bon produit si vous suivez un régime cétogène ou surveillez vos cétones pour des raisons médicales.
