His first Sunday back in the church of his childhood, he gets selected as a volunteer to co-chair the Harvest Fest committee with the girl he could never forget. Waitress and single mother Louise Olson wouldn’t have missed church to stay home with her sick daughter if she knew the congregation was going to volunteer her to head up the town’s Harvest Festival. Truth be told, she didn’t mind, and would have enjoyed it. The problem was Sweet Water’s superstar hockey golden boy was back in town, and he had been named her co-chair. That even wouldn’t be a problem except he didn’t know he was a father – of her daughter. Hockey forward Ty Hanson grew up on a ranch in Sweet Water, North Dakota, but once he left for college he never went home. He wouldn’t be there now except for the off-season injury his agent wanted kept secret so it didn’t affect his marketability, so he was to hang out in Sweet Water, North Dakota until the season started. When Ty and Louise are forced to work together, Louise is compelled to tell Ty the secret she’s kept from everyone. The attraction between them still burns strong, but Louise was on the verge of getting married and years of neglect and betrayal lie between her and her accidental summer fling. Will Ty pick up his cowboy hat and come back home? Can he convince Louise that he’ll stay this time? Reviews for The Cowboy's Secret Baby: ★★★★★ "It was a book that could not be put down until it was finished and the reader finally discovered the surprised ending." - Tahoe2011 ★★★★★ "I started this series yesterday, and have read the first two books already. After such a long time, there were secrets that needed telling, misconceptions to right and time to make up for... ” - Elouise ★★★★★ "I felt compelled to get back to it as soon as possible and to put off ‘jobs’ just so I could read more. " - Toots Sullivan ★★★★★ "This book was incredible. It was better than I could have imagined. I loved these characters and their second chance, surprise child romance. I adored getting to know more of Sweet Water and am eager to read Ford's story and anticipating Georgia's! This was a light-hearted fun read. While it is the second book of the series, you really don’t have to read the first one to enjoy this. I would highly recommend it though as it was just as delightful as this one. It makes for a great escape from the everyday hassles. Louise has an eight-year old daughter Tella. No one, not even her family knows who the father is. Louise never dated. She went through her senior year of high school pregnant. She was given a letter that if she marries within 6 months, she would receive one billion dollars! She wants to get out of the house now that Ames (her story was the first one of the series) has come to live with them. Louise feels that the newly weds don’t need her around. She could buy a ranch in the area if she only had a husband. She knows a man that is older than her, Paul. Paul is a good man but there are no sparks on either side BUT he treats her daughter well and would make a great father. Ty Hanson is a super-star NHL player who plays for Pittsburgh. He rarely comes home to Sweet Water. He had a thing for Louise and made her promises when he graduated from high school. But he and his father argued terribly one night. Before Ty comes home, his father dies of a heart attack. Ty leaves for college then on to become a hockey player. He never said good-bye to Louise nor kept any of the promises that he made her. The guilt was enormous. He is forced to come back during the off-season as a result of an injury. He arrives in time for the wedding reception of Palmer and Ames. It is there that he sees Louise and the old feelings start to emerge all over again. There are a few hurdles that both have to over come to get to their HEA. Like Ty doesn’t live in North Dakota and won’t for a few more years to play hockey. Meanwhile Louise has to marry someone and LIVE in North Dakota by Christmas to receive her inheritance! There were some really great scenes. Some of lines that were so touching, some extremely funny and others thought provoking. I really hated to see this end. I adored the dual POV format. I really felt like I was right there. This book as well as the first one would make for a great Hallmark movie!!! This is a sweet, clean romance that anyone can read. There were some kissing scenes but that was all. It was a great way to escape the realities of the day. Review: Delightful - My review today is on the Christian Romance, The Cowboy's Secret Baby. This is book two in the series Sweet Water Ranch. I'm now a huge fan of Jessie's book. When I finished the first one in this series I knew I had to read book two. It didn't let me down, it was just as good as the first. I do wish they had been on YouTube though, I love Jay's narration. Ty Hanson is a famous hockey player. He returns to Sweet Water after an injury. He had left nine years ago and hadn't been back. He had a fight with his father right before he died and couldn't stand the guilt. Plus he had betrayed the only woman he had ever loved. Now on his return he finds he has a young daughter who he hadn't known existed. Louise had never told anyone who was the father of her child. She had suffered through her whole senior year alone. She would never have asked Ty to give up his hockey for her but it had devastated her when he never called or came back. Now her brother had recently gotten married and she felt like a third wheel. She received a letter telling her was to inheit a billion dollars but she must marry by Christmas and spend her whole life in North Dakota. She could buy her own ranch. She asked a bachelor in town to marry her and he agreed. Then Ty came back. How she could marry another when she still loved Ty. A great journey to find love and trust after betrayal. God ha s plan for this little family, a good plan for hope and a future. God has a plan for you too. Give Him your heart and watch Him move in your life.

Really enjoyable story
4.5* I really liked the story of Louise and Ty. Louise had a hard road with getting pregnant before her senior year of high school. And since Ty had left before she knew, she kept Tella’s paternity a secret. When Ty comes home after nine years away, she is faced with telling him about his daughter. The back story of why Ty left without ever calling was really good. You could understand why he made the decisions he did. I’m so glad that they were able to work out their past and work together to have a future. I loved that Ty completely understood how much Louise had sacrificed for him to have his dreams. Most importantly, I got my HEA.

Awesome book
Ty and Louise were best friends and secretly they started seeing each other down by the river. Ty left to go to college and to become a major hockey star. He had a fight with his father that night. But later that night his father had a heart attack and passed away. Ty didn't come home for over 9 years. Then he came home to see his mother. He ran into Louise and while he was at home for a month he found out that he was a dad. Louise had been pregnant the last time she had seen Ty for his father's funeral but she hadn't known that. She found out later. But she didn't tell him or anyone because she wanted him to get his college education and become the hockey star that he had. Now can she trust him again and can they become more than friends. Check out the book I just couldn't put it down.

Great story
Giving up dreams and making sacrifices so someone else could follow their dreams can be one of the hardest things to ever do. Then keeping a secret for eight years, never breathing a word to anyone can make the secret even harder to handle because you have no one to share it with. Now, imagine if your secret came out to your family and friends in the span a a few minutes. Louise had a daughter on the night she was to graduate from high school. No one ever knew who the father is. Until Ty came home to recover from a leg injury. It took one look at the little girl to know she was his daughter. How do he and Louise work through this? She should have told him. She didn't do he could be the professional hockey player. Great story

An excellent story and very realistic. It was the '70's since I lived in ND but the atmosphere was much like this when I did. I know that things are a bit different now but there is much that is the same. My dad's Norwegian family is similar and expectations high. I liked how Ty worked to gain trust again and willing to wait. I was a little disappointed in the final decision about hockey. Money is a powerful motivator. Jay Dyess did a good job narrating. I did notice that as the story progressed his female voices were sounding more raspy and strained. Maybe overuse? I recieved a free Audible copy of this story, at my request, in exchange for a honest review.

Great story about the choices we make!
I chose this rating because the unfolding of this story drew me in. Loved the Midwestern aspects. Character descriptions were well done. The financial aspects made it a bit less realistic, but t he characters are realistic. A well written & engaging story!

The Cowboy’s Secret Baby
I wasn’t sure how I was going to feel about this book, but I have read these books out of order with a few more I still need to read. So I wanted to go back and get caught up before moving forward. Secret baby books especially in faith based books is not something I typically like to read, but I am glad I gave this book a chance. I really liked it. It was filled with the chemistry that I like to see in the characters that I read. The emotional and physical connection between between Ty and Louise was one I love to read. I probably would have liked to see more of a connection between Ty and his daughter, Tella after he realized his role as her father. But I know not all relationships work that way and given the circumstances it would take time. Overall this was a great book and I would recommend it.

Sweet Romance
This story starts with a hockey giant in his home town for the off season recuperating from a leg injury. His former girl didn't want anything to do with him because he had not kept in touch after he left 10 years earlier. Ty tried to rekindle their relationship, but Louise would have nothing to do with that since he had up and left without keeping in touch with her. He did not know he had a daughter with her. This romantic story has lots of angst in it. After such a long time, there were secrets that needed telling, misconceptions to right and time to make up for, This story is written with a lot of feeling, and keeps the reader's interest very well. Excellent story.

I really did enjoy reading this book, I felt compelled to get back to it as soon as possible and to put off ‘jobs’ just so I could read more. I loved the community, the people, the plot, and the good ending. It’s completely clean and totally sweet.

Country madness
A very familiar story of the one that was left behind to carry the residual burdens of life. The decisions we make early in life live with us forever. Sometimes we recover them and at other times we do not. This story covers a number of those situations. Good fortune. Bad luck. Making the most of the hand we are dealt. An enjoyable read and one that anyone with a small town experience will likely relate.

Selfless Love
Amazing, an intense storyline, that is some great love story, the chemistry between Louise and Ty is out of this world, fireworks irrupted when they are in a room together. I felt part of their romance , it made me feel great emotions. Just love Ty and the way he goes after what he want. Their journey to be together has its bumps but delivery you a great romance novel. Can’t wait to read the next book in the series.
