Good choice for a compliant child
These gloves worked great for my 4-year old. He knew we wanted him to stop sucking his thumb, we'd been talking about it for months. The reviews on that bitter nail paint made me nervous so decided to try these gloves. My son is small for his age, I ordered the 2-4 year old size and they fit perfectly. The gloves were sown well and I had no issues during the 3 weeks he wore them. The material is stretchy and it would be VERY easy for a child to simply pull their thumb out of the thumb cover if they wanted to. However, my son didn't so they worked great! He wore them about 3 weeks, then got a bad cold and I didn't want them getting all snotty plus he was all stuffed up so that made a good transition time to stop them and he has successfully stopped sucking his thumb. I did wash them in cold water and air dried prior to first use. For the amount of fabric and sewing involved, I thought they were overpriced, but there's not much else out there on the market. I did consider a more expensive plastic thumb cover (T Guard Aero Thumb) but glad I didn't spring for that as you only get one and my son switched thumbs when I only put on one glove the first few days, so he needed both gloves to effectively break the habit.

Great in theory!
These are awesome in theory but my child just pops out her thumb while sleeping and still wears the glove. Was hoping these would be a great reminder for my 7 year old to help break the habit of mindless thumb sucking, however she just removes the thumb piece while sleeping and continues to wear the glove cause she thinks it’s cute. The product is a good quality and lots of color options. Easy to clean, just pop them in with a load of laundry. The glove is a nice soft smooth material, causing no irritation to the skin after long wear. Easy to close snap button on glove. All in all if you can keep it on your child’s hand the product works well !

Perfect!
My son will suck his thumb until it's literally raw, chapped, and wears away so much skin it gets infected. You would think he would stop, but I guess it doesn't occur to babies.. Anyway, he wears these gloves all the time, and while his habit has not stopped (his thumb goes in his mouth as soon as I take off the gloves), these have kept his hands healthy and healed. While he is wearing them, he doesn't even try to put his thumb in his mouth, and when he sees me get them out, he puts out his hand like he actually wants me to put it on him- kind of sad, like he WANTS me to stop him from sucking! Also, I love the material, because if his hands get wet, it dries quickly. I only have one pair, and I find myself having to wash them a lot (hand wash mostly, machine wash at least once a week is what I do). I'm going to save up for another pair. Also, these say for ages 2-4, but I ordered them when my son turned one, and they fit him just fine. Granted, he is a thick little guy :)

These gloves are a complete waste of money if your child has any intention of resisting the therapy since they are extremely easy to simply remove. We tried these rather expensive but comfortable looking gloves with our 2-1/2 year old as she is developing a concerning overbite but found they ended up on the floor after the first night. More frustrating and infuriating than the fact that we paid over $30 for some cheap spandex half gloves is the fact that the company peddling this garbage is impossible to reach to either share concern regarding the ineffectiveness of their product or discuss the possibility of a refund. Surprisingly, after no response to several emails to End Thumb Sucking LLC, I was also unable to get Amazon.com to reply to my concerns either. Way to go Amazon! Please don't waste the money on these unless you have it to waste and just can't stomach the thought of a something less comfortable for your child.

Life-Changing, But Requires Parental Effort
My 4-year-old daughter has been a dedicated thumb sucker since she first found her thumb at 3 months old. We weren’t too concerned at first, but at her last dentist visit, we learned that it was starting to negatively affect her teeth. Her dentist recommended thumb-sucking gloves, and after some research, these seemed like the perfect solution. At first, she was resistant to wearing them, but we got the blue pair and told her they were “magic Elsa gloves”—that little trick worked like a charm! She’s now been wearing them for couple of months (except while eating or using the potty), and we’ve seen huge progress. The biggest challenge has been bedtime. She used to fall asleep with her thumb in her mouth, so without it, she’s struggling to self-soothe. It’s been an adjustment, but that’s to be expected. I’ve caught her occasionally trying to suck her thumb in her sleep, but with the gloves on, it’s much easier to gently redirect her. We also had her sleep in our bed at first to help redirect her consistently. After two months, she no longer wears them and has stopped sucking her thumb. For parents frustrated that their child can take the gloves off—let’s be real, that’s on you. These aren’t a magic fix; they require patience, consistency, and active parenting. If you’re not willing to guide and encourage your child through the process, don’t waste your money. But if you’re committed to helping them break the habit, these gloves absolutely work!

disappointment
I was desperate to stop my almost 4 year old from sucking her thumb. Nothing had worked. I looked up the thumb guard at first, but it was too expensive. I decided to try this because the price is much more reasonable. At first, when we got them in the mail, my daughter was excited to wear them. That was a relief. And honestly, that's why I gave it 2 stars. The design makes it fun to wear. Other kids even asked their parents to buy a pair for them. When she was engaged or busy, it worked well. But when it came to nap time or bed time, she learned by the second day that she could pull the thumb part off her thumb (not the glove off, but just the thumb cover so her thumb would go into the larger hole where the fingers come out). This I could not stop. There was no way to adjust it to fix that problem. So, it was good during the day, but useless at sleep time. I needed something to break it completely as I assume most parents would. So, unfortunately I would not recommend this product. : ( Sorry. I just want other parents to know this before spending $30!

Easily removed by child and not adversive texture
My son (3) can definitely pull these off on his own. They are very difficult to put on though. They help him remember not to suck his thumb and they are good for daytime because it doesn't impair use. However, when he is drowsy he will still suck his thumb with the glove on. The material is thin and silky and doesn't "feel" uncomfortable for him to suck. He will still accidentally do this as he is falling asleep. We just use a cotton winter glove at night because that does NOT feel good to suck on and he is compliant in not removing the glove. Also, I feel like the value for these tiny little thin, flimsy gloves is awful. And the first day we used them during the day and he got the material all stratched up by playing on the playground. If he wore it during the day and during play they would be destroyed in no time. SO if your kid needs a reminder to stop sucking their thumbs, this would work probably, but so would some cheap-o winter gloves that you have laying around.

Revolutionary product - A+
A year ago, the right side picture was impossible because my daughters first two fingers on the right side were all but always in her mouth. Thanks to Amazon’s Glovey-Huggey, I can get these cuddles because we kicked the habit. Painless (other than a year of consistency), effective, and even a fun lesson in responsibility (taking on and off to wash hands, etc). They have gloves for thumb suckers as well 😊 I almost never promote products socially but these worked for us after expensive medical grade guards fell apart and I was feeling hopeless. It is a short term solution to preventing the behavior as well as a long term solution by reducing the impulse over time. I did have to by 2 because we were hard on them, but that’s nothing in comparison to the dental bills I will be saving on. A+++++

Good purchase!
Great product! The snaps provide a perfect fit for different little hands and make it difficult for kids to take them off. The company provided great customer service as well.

They did not stay on.
I was not satisfied with the product for the following reasons: 1. They were a solid lime green pattern not the aqau mermaid type pattern. Not at all the pattern pictured. 2. They came off the very first night my daughter wore them which made them not suitable for night time thumb sucking. What I did like 1. They were made from a nice breathable fabric. However, gets dirty very fast. 2. The concept of them was great but unfortunately did not work for us. We needed something for night time thumb sucking. Would maybe work for daytime sucking if child is willing to wear them.
