Really enjoying finding and trying new pubs and restaurants. No disappointments so far, all have been excellent.A very good value guide.

I only replace my Michelin Guides every few years so I had a nasty shock when opening my new guide to discover that the new format had dispensed with the very informative and useful local maps. I always use the guide to avoid disappointment both in restaurants and places to stay. Please reinstate the maps.

Fully up to date gastronomic guide for the year ahead. A must for foodies. Simple

This really a very basic guide to restaurants and some places to stay.I do wonder if this is just a guide to justify the awarding of the magical ‘stars’.Most restaurants get about 40 words of description!It does give the basics of phone number, email and website for places to eat and stay so that is good.I do question the awarding of stars especially with restaurants that have only been open a matter of months.I do eat in Michelin Star restaurants on a regular basis and do wonder with many why did they get that award. Eat at others who maybe do not have the chef who has just won Masterchef and think why have you not got a ‘star’. I personally in the future would download the app for free and not buy this guide. Sorry. You could buy it to impress your friends on your book shelf!It is a guide I continue to buy and then question why?Conclusion a guide that justifies the awarding of stars.

Mainly traditional cuisine is favoured here, but this comprehensively covers the country, only awarding rosettes sparingly. My region - east anglia - has midsummer house in Cambridge as its front runner for cooking, but I'd like to see more emphasis on the wines/spirits/etc selection in the future guide.
