Conklin All American Fountain Pen in Brownstone – Fine Nib, Elegant Brown Finish & Superior Craftsmanship – Ideal Gift for Professionals & Pen Collectors

The pictures do not give justice to the refined coloring of this pen. I was hoping for a reasonably bright lapis blue body. The color of this pen is that of deep blue sky with bits of clouds skimming along. I bought this for a color difference as my other fountain pens are black, dark blue, black, etc. When capped, it looks like a quite large pen. Fortunately, when the cap is off, the pen grip is a comfortable size - even for my small hands - and the pen itself it is light weight when posted. The fine nib glides on paper and provides a nice thickness of ink that is readily readable but still fine for details or small lettering. I can't wait to start writing with it.

I purchased mine in used like new condition for a great price. I was skeptical when I ordered and thought it would arrive in sad condition. It was brand spanking new and absolutely beautiful. It’s smooth as glass and a juicy writer. I use it unposted as it’s a bit heavy for my smallish hands when posted.

Beautiful pen but it writes horribly. The nib is very scratchy and skips ink all the time. I have a $20 fountain pen that writes better than this. Like I said it’s a beautiful pen but it should write much better considering the price.

I have not owned a Conklin prior to this, and I am just amazed by the beautiful color, size, weight, craftsmanship, and amazing control of the nib (I did change out the nib for a Conklin Rose Gold Omniflex). The pen is rather large, so for someone who has smaller hands, be mindful if you do not like a bigger pen. Came beautifully packaged in a nice (faux) leather box with 1 blue and 1 black ink cartridge, and an ink converter. This will be a great addition to my fountain pen collection. If you are new(er) to fountain pens this would be a great taste of a higher end quality fountain pen without the high-end price tag. Well done Conklin.

Pen is chunky and comfortable to write with. Flow wet. Inked with de atramentis sepia brown. One disappointment- nib is silver not a bicolor like in the photo. So it was little misleading. Writes smooth, not buttery, has little bit of feedback. Mine has more brown color than yellow, I was hoping for opposite, but still pen is really pretty.

The pen itself is nice, but the nib is subpar. I had to sand it and use Noodlers eel ink to make it a decent writer. I’ve had $4 Jinhao pens that wrote better.

This pen is a pleasure to use. It has girth at the section, is just long enough for a large handed person to use unposted but posts well. It is a fairly wet writer. The nib does provide some feedback without being scratchy. The fine nib is really an extra fine and does permit some line variation. The pen is beautiful in its turnout with acrylic highlights that catch the sun and others nearly translucent. I am very happy with this purchase.

The colors in this pen are beautiful. Really resembled Southwestern aesthetics. Writing experience was good as to be expected at this price point. Overall happy, happy, happy.

A wonderfully finished fountain pen. Upon arrival I flushed it with distilled water and a bulb syringe to get any manufacturing residue out of the nib and feed, inked it up with Pelikan Brilliant Black and went to writing. Just make sure you remember this pen comes with a threaded standard international converter though it does also use both short and long standard international ink cartridges. One blue and one black short cartridge comes with the pen. I have had no issues with ink flow, hard starts or skipping in the month I have had this pen and I use it daily. Mine has a fine nib and writes smoothly. Pens overall size is on the larger side but it is comfortable to hold and write with for longer periods of time. The resin on the Yellowstone is beautiful and shimmers in the sun light. It is a fine pen and quite the looker. So glad I got this one.
