Miniature Needle Painting Embroidery: Vintage Portraits, Florals & Birds (Milner Craft Series)

I just received my book and I can't wait to start a project. But which one? They are all beautiful! Oh! I know: miniature needle painting embroidery, I am going to be able to do all of them!!! Excellent book. Detail information about each project and very good pictures. One of them is a Portrait, so pretty. I've been always curious about portraits but I think they're difficult, with this tutoring I should be good. You will find georgeous birds, flowers, little girls and the one that makes me wonder for a moment, the bird nest. Look so real. What make this book stand out from others? I will say again, detail on pictures and detail instructions. I am done with my review, need to do my shopping list since Hobby Lobby has DMC 30% off this week.

This book is simply amazing, and the fantastic, exceptionally detailed instructions and diagrams are so easy to follow I believe any serious stitcher would be able to succeed with any of the designs included in the book. Trisha Burr, in my opinion, is the best tutor for this type of embroidery, and every design I have ever seen done by her is simply wonderful, so who wouldn't want to be taught by her. I definitely recommend any book on needlepainting produced by her to anyone interested in learning how to do this beautiful style of stitching. I'm certainly looking forward to learning myself, and can't wait to give it a go. This book arrived safely, packed in a solid, cardboard box along with two other books, and in very good time.

Trish Burr is absolutely brilliant in her needle painting in this particular book as well as her other books and DVD's. Fun projects with excellent illustrations and photographs. Well written step by step instructions match perfectly with the photographs. Ms. Burr is very upbeat and writes a book that you feel that "Yes! I can do this!". Of course, its fun to find the vintage look for the children, the birds are really cute but the flowers are incredible. Its wonderful to find these smaller projects to try and learn Ms. Burr's techniques.

What a beautifully illustrated book filled with fun, possibly challenging (depending on your experience) projects. I was slightly disappointed that Ms Burr didn't include transferables, but I'll make do. The projects are delghtfully endearing! There are so many that i want to complete that I'm happy to say the competition for 1st project is steep. T Burr's technical instructions are great for the intermediate + stitcher. A beginner may struggle somewhat but there are many of her videos online for reference. This is my first of many Burr books - if i don't sneak off with my mother's!

This is a beautiful book. The author must be one GREAT artist with thread. I loved looking at the pictures and would love to be able to paint with thread the was this woman does. There are wonderful instruction and if I took the time I might be able to do something that vaguely represents the picture. I am not sorry I have the book.

great graphics and directions

I was very interested in trying thread painting. I have been embroidering for years and I always wished I could make my projects look more realistic. I’m glad I read the other reviews. This book makes the process easy to understand and offers beautiful pattern ideas.

Trish Burr writes an excellent book. Her description of stitches and accompanying photos offer exceptional directions. She also breaks the book down in beginner miniatures to try up to the more difficult. Handy to learn a new stitch or to refer back to if needed.

This is a nice book, lots of useful information and well written. I make very small embroidery on bags that I make, and this is perfect for that.

Quality book containing great designs. Has clear step by step instructions with colour photographs at each stage. Suitable for both beginners and more experienced embroiderers.

Ich hatte ein paar Videos Reviews gesehen und wusste schon in etwa, wie das Buch gestaltet ist. In natura ist aber noch viel schöner anzusehen. Wunderbare, liebliche Vorlagen und sehr gute Beschreibungen der verwendeten Techniken. Ich weiß nicht, ob ich das jemals so schön hinbekomme, aber das Buch bringt mich auf jeden Fall weiter in der Verfeinerung der Needle Painting Technik und ist auch ein Stimmungsaufheller an einem trüben Nachmittag. Es lohnt sich ja allein schon wegen der wunderbaren Bilder.
