It works, but it stinks going on - however - don’t dispair! It dries quickly and then you can’t smell it anymore, even up close and personal. My husband said it smells like an ashtray at first but when I gave it time to dry he gave it the smell test and it passed! I love how it makes my hair feel and I definitely got more hair thickness and density. I just done trying the whole Nutrafol system for 4-months and didn’t get any real growth, increased density or thickness (I did get healthy clean hair, but that’s attainable for less cost elsewhere). Anyway - this stuff works for me and I totally recommend it. It has clinical studies that back it up. Don’t worry about the smell - it goes away when it dries and you’ll be real happy with the way your hair feels right away and even happier when you start seeing results.

The science behind the product is promising. It did leave a bit of a residue on my scalp and did irritate my scalp a little, made it a little itchy. I think for androgenic alopecia it is important to treat with medication/supplements internally as well as treatment products and hair care for thinning hair on the outside - one topical product will probably not be a magic fix.

I’ve only been using it for about three weeks, I haven’t noticed a difference yet. I’ll change my rating if I do see a difference. But, the product smells so bad!!!!! I don’t wear it at night because it’s so smelly and it’s hard to ignore the scent. Please come up with a better solution for the smell.

I can’t say whether it works or not for hair grown. But it smells like strong alcohol. I wish their other serum hairgrowth was back in stock. That one worked and actually smelled amazing. Seems that it’s been out of stock for a while now

This works ,been trying a bunch of other hair growth products for over 30 years,using this and minoxidil and wow,use to use Sheaman then change its name to Nuhair and worked the best but now I can't find it. So this stuff is as good or better.

I love the Advanced Trichology capsules and I'm currently addressing nutritional issues, but this serum will not work for me. It goes on clean, but when it dried on my hair it made it tacky. I couldn't easily comb through it. I had to wash it out. Tried it again to make sure it wasn't me, but had the same effect. I wish it was oil based, then perhaps it would work better for my hair. I'll keep using the capsules, but this serum is a no for me.Update: This is why I love Advance Trichology. Someone saw this review and immediately reached out telling me to send it back (no box needed) for a full refund. I already purchased the DHT Blocker capsules and will add them to my daily vitamin routine, including FoliGrowth. No one asked me to, but I changed my star rating from 1 to 5. NutraM Hair Growth Serum is still a 1 for me because it was incompatible with my hair. I'm positive it would've worked if I could have used it without it making my hair stiff and tacky, but I have high hopes the DHT Blocker capsules will work just as well. I'm giving 5 stars for customer service! Without even being asked, they issued a refund. I know that FoliGrowth works and I follow Dr. Gaunitz on YouTube. I'm hoping to be able to add my photo to the list of successful "afters" in a few month.

My update is around Advanced Trichology’s impressive customer service. They saw my review and immediately contacted me via Amazon to offer me a full refund with their apologies. They are working on reformulating this product and I offered feedback. I’m hoping the new and improved version has a lovely scent. I will continue to order and take their DHT Blocker supplement, but sadly I can’t continue to use this serum.ORIGINAL - I just received this hair serum two days ago and have used it for the past two nights. It stinks! I can’t really describe the smell - maybe rotten orange juice? They certainly didn’t create this serum with the knowledge that not everyone washes their hair daily - especially women. I will continue to use this as directed because I’m desperate for hair regrowth. But I’m actually embarrassed to be around people the way my hair smells from using the product the night before. I’ll give an update to the effectiveness after 3 months.
