TOYOTA Genuine (16261-20010) Water Bypass Hose

I had to replace the knock sensors on a Toyota V6 that requires major disassembly of the intake manifolds to access them. This hose is buried under the lower manifold and given the age of the vehicle was a recommended candidate for replacement. Being a genuine OE part from Toyota, it fit perfectly.

This is not the original design and I'm concerned about how the heat shielding will stand up to vibration and what's to happen to the zip ties keeping it together if the hose swells up at all

2003 Toyota Highlander 3.0 vvti with parts list. Installed for 3 weeks now and no leaks. Not a hard job to do but will take some time in a clean garage. This is a must have when replacing the Knock sensors on a 3.0vvti Toyota engine. You will also need the knock sensor wiring harness, two knock sensors and intake gaskets. I replaced my spark plugs and valve cover gaskets at the same time. It took more time but now I it’s done for another 180000 miles. The following pictures will give you a list of the Amazon parts I ordered. Belts and filter are from Oreillys auto parts.

U can tell a better part than a Chinese knock off. You don't want to take chances on a cheapie underneath the manifold. Even if you are doing this yourself, do you really think the extra saving is worth the effort of taking off the intake manifold to replace it? I bought this because I was already replacing the knock sensors: "While I was at it." The 20 year OEM hose was a bit tired and I didn't know was leaking ever so little. Replacing was the right thing to do.
