LATNEX LAT-P20
We noticed the phone was unable to make calls and that the numeric keypad did not fully light up. I called LATNEX late February and was told that the first generation of these phones were meant to only have some of the numeric keys light up to reduce the emf output. I was told that there is now a newer version which has all of the numeric keys illuminated, but that the emf will be increased only a small amount. I was offered an immediate replacement and the new phone works as described. Great customer service!

I was not expecting much.
I just wanted a cheap landline phone for my home, and this works adequately. All other models I checked out are more expensive and have lots of features I do not want or need. This is actually made for senior citizens, so the buttons and numbers are large. The sound that you hear when you hit one of the buttons is also rather loud. One other drawback is that the basw is very light, so any tension on the cord attaching it to the handset causes the base to be lifted off the my desk. All in all, not a bad value for the money.

Easy to dial
I bought this as a landline backup phone to plug into my fax machine essentially for earthquake or other disaster situations when a landline phone may be a lifesaver. I chose the large buttons so that in a crisis and a blackout it would be easy to dial out. The size is reasonably compact, and fits comfortably on the shelf under my fax machine. The phone works well with good voice quality. I have not tried the volume control.

A 4 star product with quirks.
A 4 star product with quirks. After several months of use, I am content with the phone as a replacement for a 40 year old heavy AT&T touch tone phone. There is a strange quirk with my Latnex LAT-P20 Telephone that causes it to make strange sounds that is not an incoming call ring. Perhaps it is fax message or text message or something else that is trying to call my number. The instruction manual says โTONE/PULSE SWITCH Choose the right mode according to the different PBX in the world.โ Whatever that means. To get a dial tone to make a call, only one position of this switch works. There is also the obscure sentence in the PREFACE section of the manual. โThis product has been especially designed for cheeta operation.โ It is a light weight unit so when the handset is picked up and if the base is on a table, the base will also slide around.

Don't buy this unless you hate yourself.
This phone seemed to be exactly what I needed. It notifies me visually when it's ringing and the numbers light up. Great for my dark room I use it in. But that's where the love stops. For F's sake someone needs to be keel-hauled over this. The plug indention on the back isn't deep enough for a plug to fit in behind the phone if you mount it to the wall. Why they didn't just put the socket on the back of the phone, in this indent, who knows? So it's a useless dent. Secondly, it's NOT EFFING CENTERED! Have you ever seen a wall mount with pegs offset from the RJ11 jack? Me neither! So why didn't they center the useless indention? I seriously want to egg someone's car over this. I had to cut a large chunk out of the cheap plastic body to mount this to my wall-mounted jack. So yeah, one star. Oh, and only a few of the numbers actually light up. This phone wasn't as cheap as the 4 dollar Walmart phone. It was actually pretty pricey in my opinion. So I'm pretty unhappy with it. But I simply can't find another that does exactly these things this almost does, or is supposed to do, so I'm keeping it. Hooray.

Won't fit any wall mount plate
Good phone on a desk or table but can't hang on wall mount plate, I tried two different plates. The cutout for the cord on the bottom on the phone is off and not deep enough to accept the plug when plugged into the wall mount plate.

Lighting of keypad
This is the second one ordered...returned first for faulty keypad lighting...this one the lighting does not work at all since I must have a landline I have decided to keep it but not pleased!

Good Phone for Seniors
This phone has large numeric buttons and an easy to grasp handle. Only part of the buttons light up - which I originally thought was a phone defect. EMF kindly replaced the phone with another - but the same buttons also don't light so perhaps it is just the phone style. It is possible to see the buttons though it's more difficult at night. Sound is rather screechy but that's OK with me as it is unique to other noises. Customer service was excellent.
