This worked perfectly for making my own composite video and audio input cable for a vizio tv I have that uses a 3.5 mm jack on the back.

This part works perfectly for me! I didn't want to throw my favorite headset away and decided to at least try fixing it on my own. Shipping made this a bit pricier than I would want it to be but I can't complain. Pretty sturdy piece. BTW, it is important to note that pin 3 is actually the ground and pin 4 is the microphone. I found this out while playing music with pin 1 and 2 plugged in. When testing the audio for the ground, it matched up with the pin 3 slot (touch the copper wire to the metal). When I put the ground wire to the fourth pin it was very distorted audio, confirming it to be the third pin. To make sure pin 4 was for the mic, I simply did a mic test. Hopefully the seller fixes their description and photo.

Success will depend on quality of cable, but using stranded ethernet / 8P8C wire across a short length is suitable for my needs.This is part of a bigger solution. Experimentation may be necessary depending on circumstances, but with enough time and playing around otherwise-insurmountable gaps can be bridged with this, among other connectors.

i couldnt find a speaker jack at the time and i thought this would work. i couldnt wee a wiring diagram, it gives you the order of the wires numerically, 1234, but the plug has i think symbols. i see a ground symbol, and letters, i,r,v,ground. i see better, than i read, i still couldn't figure out the order of the wiring. maybe though the jack worked, on 3 an 4 way. i didnt.inserting the wires was difficult, was not much room. i havnt been keeping up the terms of plug, technology for years, old buzzard i am. however, i did see a three-way, jack and wires, just before i wrote this. i will try it.

Product does transmit sound, but is very very quiet. Even when volume is turned up to maximum there is very little sound that comes thru the speakers. I followed the color-coding show in the product details as listed on Amazon (product does not come with wiring instructions). Hard to know if this is because of the product or because of the vast variety of different speaker types out there. Maybe one size does not fit all? Sounds like other users had good success. But for me, I did not.

Works great with 18 gauge wire. Two notes:1. From the label L to GND is: Tip/1st Ring/2st Ring/Sleeve2.Don't expect your computer to drive a home stereo without an amp.

Great adapter that can be wired as needed for correct output. It's small and compact and reduces bulk many other methods introduce to a wiring harness.

Don't pay any attention to the 1 star reviews. Those are generally from people who do not know what they are doing and don't understadn how to use this adaptor. It works exactly as intended.
