Attitude for a Lifetime of ... (Jeffrey Gitomer's Little Gold Book Series). Review: Your very own life coach - I'm not sure how I discovered this little gem, but I was obviously in the mood for something upbeat - and that's what this book delivers. Gitomer isn't all that different from thousands of self-help authors that have come before him. He even gives away the secret of his success on page 8 when he tells the reader that he has 982 books on positive mental attitude and personal development in his own library. There's little doubt that everything in this Gitomer book can be found in one or more of the books in his library. But here's the difference: Gitomer is a showman, a one-man revue of positive thinking. Every page sparkles with the force of Gitomer's personality and his relentless (if ancient) message: you are what you think. You can dip in anywhere and come up with a handful of bright, shining attitudinal nuggets to carry you through a bad moment, a bad day, maybe even a bad year. He intersperses quotations from self-help classics with his own kind of homespun advice. Some of it just plain corny: "If you think I'm nuts, you may be right. But I'm a nut with a positive attitude, baby." And does it ever show. In a hundred years, there will probably be no mention of Jeffrey Gitomer in any history books. Maybe not even in twenty years. But the guy is definitely in the "now". An effective self-promoter of his own self-help regimen, sales consultancy and a bunch of other businesses. He claims to deliver more than 120 live seminars a year. I think he'd be a treat to see: I get the idea that he could light up a string of Christmas tree lights with his own energy. In any event, the "Little Gold Book of YES! Attitude" is a handy thing for your desk. Pull it out whenever you need a little does of attitude improvement. Jerry Review: Practical, No Nonesense - I've purchased most of Gitomer's books on sales and found he never disappoints. I had the 2007 original edition of this, and wanted his updated 2017 edition. I am not a professional sales person, but a self-employed consultant. As such I too am in "sales". Jeffrey has a way to take the convoluted and change it into a common sense (uncommon sense?) approach which is easy to use. Most of us just need reminders and some specific techniques to employ immediately. He pulls no punches, discusses real feelings / issues and provides self-tests and practical suggestions to improve one's situation. He does not let the reader off the hook, when the blame rests solely with the reader. This is not a "feel good" book, but one with practical suggestions and techniques based on the "real you" that changes one's approach to interpersonal dealings, in business and in life. All his books are organized somewhat unconventionally, his trademark I suppose, such as listing a series of steps with the last one numbered with a .5 (e.g., XX.5). Memorable. Many changes in format, color and size of the print, use of white space, totally unconventional to past books, and impackful.

If You Think You Can, You're Right
I am proud to have invested the time to read this book. Jeffrey Gitomer has an engaging style and, coupled with different colors, print sizes, jokes, and anecdotes, is able to hold the reader's attention. I found myself challenged by the Attitude Test and got a chuckle as I looked over the list of attitude busters and "puke-stoppers", accompanied by the applicable remedies. Gitomer's assertion that BOTH victory AND defeat should be celebrated was bolstered by his practice of paying a cash reward to an employee who makes a big mistake. The reasoning is that an employee who feels empowered to take risks is rewarded regardless of the outcome. I have to admit that, while amused by the explanation, it will be difficult for me to implement that suggestion! While he spends a great deal of time explaining his philosophy around belief systems and postive affirmations, he does provide a practical game plan. I recommend this book for your personal collection and then you will want to refer it to others you care about.

I Don't Like Motivational Books
And I didn't want to like this one, either! But I had read several of Gitomer's other books and found them all to be entertaining, easy to read, and (most importantly) packaged very nicely. Actually, the best thing about Gitomer's books is that you can take an idea, put it into action TODAY, and reap the benefits by early the next morning. What his other marketing books do for sales, this book does for attitude. Well organized, clearly written and practical. You will enjoy this book and improve your attitude and productivity. Gitomer's books are a favorite at Holtz Psychological Services here in Melville, NY. I also refer to them at our website: [...].

Yes! attitude is for real
I'm usually skeptical about self-help kinda deals but my friend insisted I get this and I have to admit, it's helped me a lot. This book really opened my eyes to what a shift in attitude could do for me. I'm just starting to implement changes and can already see some benefits in my day to day. I would recommend this to anyone looking to have better relationships, do better at their job or just generally feel better. The book is super easy to read and Jeffrey writes in a way that anyone can access and gain something every time they pick up the book.

Love these books. So easy to read, and can put it down and pick it up. Such an attractive book and great for those of us who learn best with the use of visuals and analogies etc. Not one for the Kindle - would be a shame not to experienc the feel of the book.

Jeffrey is an excellent writer, keeps his concepts simple and to the point with some humour to boot!! A must read for any sales rep or sales manager that has attitude issues in sales meaning a negative attitude of sales, prospecting. A very helpful read that I would highly recommend!!

I bought this book on a recommendation from a leader. It really is about doing the work. By applying the teachings, and following the process, my family, friends, and colleagues at work, have noticed a change in my attitude and communication, commenting on the positivity of my changes. Not only do I feel better about me, but I also realizing my relationships with customers, clients, and subordinates have also improved.

I actually purchased the audio book and had listened to it a few times and decided I also needed to have the hard copy. I like the hardback because this will be a definate reread and like that it is durable for tagging along on many trips.
