Reliable, Low-Cost, Functional, Comfortable, What Else?
This is an amazing watch. I used the same watch for 15 years and in 2025 I bought it again after the older one was damaged due to some aggressive chemical. I live in the East Coast of the US and I have friends and family in different parts of Europe. I regularly check the time over there. I use the timer for when I am brushing my teeth. I use the stopwatch when I brew coffee. I use the alarms for my daily short walks and to wake up. I had to remove two sections of the strap to make it a good fit for my wrist. You may need to do that as well. All around it is just an excellent watch. Casio is of course amazing with quality. I would recommend it to anyone. I know smart watches are getting more and more common but trust me, one less device to charge regularly is a better improvement in your life than anything else.

Great Watch For the Money
I have been purchasing Casio watch products for over 25 years now. Their watches are low cost and nicely designed. I was not let down when I received this watch and all for 18 dollars. The watch is nice looking, has mostly usable features which fulfills its purpose. For a watch that costs under 20 dollars this is a great knock-around piece that can be worn in any setting. Whether hiking/climbing in the woods, fixing the car, swimming or just plain rough housing with my kids, having a low cost and functional watch that fits all my needs really makes this product a great buy. This Casio comes with several functions: 1) You can track up to 4 different time zones. Since I do a fair amount of business travel (about 1x a month), I am constantly in different time zones. Now I can set them easily. 2) The watch has a manual DST setting which I don't mind. It's literally a push of a button. 3) It is water resistant to 10 Bar. This means swimmers, surfers, etc... can use this watch with confidence. 4) It comes with a typical alarm. I always make sure I know how to turn this off, because you know somehow some 2 or 3 year old will get it and find a way to turn on the alarm so that it wakes you and 0200 in the morning. 5) Stop watch. Not much to say here. I use it for running/walking Cons: A couple of oddball design features that are difficult to see. 1) The upper right hand circle is actually a visual of an analogue watch, so that if you look at another time zone besides the one that you set for your home city, you can get a quick view of the time. Not so easy to see. 2) The time zone characterization is also difficult to see and not so sure it is necessary, since the back of the directions lists out the cities you can use to select the proper time zones. So this may not be a "smart" watch which seems to be very popular these days, but I will say the price makes it very worth while. If you need a knock-around that looks nice and has the core functions you need, I think you will be very satisfied with this product. You know... maybe some things don't need to be smart. Enjoy!

This is my Favorite! It is a mini computer for such a low price. Go far it and you will be amazed!
I bought Casio AE-1000W-1AVDF and also this model. The one difference between these 2 models are the dial color but the difference is not noticeable unless I closely look at it side by side. Coming to the review, I would say this is a mini computer and I keep wondering how could they put these many functions inside this small watch and offering it for 15 dollars. I'm blown away by this wonderful product and this is my favorite watch all the time and I rarely wear my other watches. Isn't this amazing that it got the time for close to 50 cities and I can select 4 of them in T1(Home City), T2, T3 and T4 to easily flip through using the bottom right button. This functionality helped me a lot during my 2 international trips through multiple transits. Before the departure I select all the Cities that I'm transiting through so that I can easily flip to that time zone when I land in that airport and I do not need to rely on airport clock or internet to know the time and calculating the time left for catching my connecting flight. I love this watch especially for this functionality. While scrolling through the time zones for selection the tiny world map in the watch will blink the specific geographical area for that time zone. The capabilities of this watch does not end here, It has lot more to offer. We can program 5 daily or one time alarms into this tiny piece. Stopwatch, Counter, 12 or 24 hour time format, Day light saving ON or OFF which simplifies the time setting when the DST switches. We can set it to signal a beep for every hour. There is digitally displayed manual clock at the top right corner which will display your home country time stored in the T1 timezone. When I go on an international trip, I flip the digital display to local time(T2-T4) and will refer the home city time(T1) in the manual clock. The watch is really durable, light weight, stylish, sporty, water proof, 10 years battery life and comes with a detailed instruction for setting up each and every functionality of this watch. What more can I expect for a 15 dollar watch. My impression to buy this watch happened after seeing one my friends wearing it. I bought one for me and 3 more for giving it as gift. My friend lost it twice and bought the same watch 3rd time which proves how much he also likes it. The last thing that I want to say is, I don't like the fancy brands which charge their customers just for the sake of their brand name or fancy packaging and offer noting more than a normal brand offers. I always prefer quality over show off so I picked this Casio watch. I really appreciate that CASIO believed in quality and functionality and not on fancy packaging. I feel really bad that I'm writing this review after 1.5 years of my purchase and I should have done it long back. I highly recommend this watch for everyone and I'm sure you will never be disappointed.

Does Everything It's Supposed To -- But It Is A Cheap Watch
I'm replacing my Casio Waveceptor, which was double or triple the cost of this watch. The Waveceptor had a polished metal case, a bezel with more detail, and was heavier. It felt like a decent watch. Unfortunately, it had a nasty tendency to reset itself to 2008 and the light would only briefly flash so I couldn't tell what time it was at night. This new watch looked very similar in the photographs, but it is a much lighter, plastic case watch. This new watch is easier to set and functions perfectly. And the watch band was a breeze to adjust with the SE JT6218 Watch Band Link Remover, 5-Piece watch band adjustment tool. From a few feet away, I don't think anyone will be able to tell the difference between this watch and my previous Waveceptor. But, it's not quite as fun to put on because it feels cheap. I've resigned myself to spend more on my next watch. But until then, I've given this watch four stars because it does everything it's supposed to, and I've gotten what I've paid for. I'm keeping it. Update 12/26/2012: I have been using the watch for a few days now and have to say that it is really delightful. The inset dial shows an analog reading of what time it is. It has a minute and hour hand but also displays seconds too if you look closely. The analog display shows current timem even if you're viewing world time. Moving on to the world time function, it displays not only the other time zone of your choice, but also highlights the region on the graphically displayed world map. Another nice feature that both my Casios with the stainless steel bands have had is that they can be positioned as a desk clock. Yes, the band allows them to stand, perfectly positioned for viewing on a desk. I often take mine off because the band rubs on the front part of my laptop computer. When I set it down, it becomes a desk clock that I can use to monitor current time, a world time, a timer, or a countdown. It's very handy. This really is a great tool for very little money. It's just too bad that it isn't a better piece of jewelry too. Update 1/9/2013: I've had the watch for two weeks now and the lettering on the bezel has completely worn off. I can't even make out what it used to say. It is completely gone! That's the bad news. But the good news is that it doesn't look much different without the lettering. And because it's completely gone, no one will know that it's missing. You'd think I'd be upset about the "cheapness," but to be honest, it lights up at night and doesn't reset itself like my previous Casio Waveceptor, so I'm still satisfied with it. You get what you pay for...

First of my Collection
Big fan of the Casio World Times Watches! Especially the AE1000! Got the black one September 2023, and the silver one November 2024. A lot of great features for such an inexpensive watch! You can go between 4 different time zones for the Home screen. World times with 31 time zones (48 cities). 1/100 second stopwatch and a 24 hour countdown timer! 5 alarms with and hourly chime. You can also mute and unmute the buttons, just hold the mute button down for 4-5 seconds. The same exact functions and features as the AE1200. This version is round and not as thic as the 1200. Perfect for swimming, 100 meters water resistance good for snorkeling! Great watch for those who love digital watches with multiple features and that don’t want to spend a lot! Go go Casio!!

Great Fun Watch. But Bracelet Requires Nimitz-Class Torque Wrench To Adjust
Great. Does like 10 things and the battery lasts about 1 year w/ no daily-recharge like a smart watch. However the "folded-link" design of the band is a nightmare. Unless you have Reacher-sized wrists it is almost impossible to resize if you need 2+links out of each side, even with a very strong steel ~1mm punch. Solid link+pin style bracelet superior to the type on this watch. Kind-of a weird bargain if the work on it from a pro to resize would exceed the purchase price and buying watchmaking tools to DIY gets close. I lucked out and had a punch on-hand, but still really Fugazi bracelet engineering. Also case trim is silver plastic, not metal. -A little disappointing & would have paid a bit more if it were metal.

A cheap, accurate digital watch with plenty of features
I picked the Casio AE1000W as a cheap beater watch for traveling and work and it's performed admirably given the price I paid. I've owned it for a year. It is a fairly large watch with a resin band so it may feel a little odd if you have slender wrists, but it is very lightweight. The current watch face does have a few small scratches over the course of my time using it but they're not particularly bad and everything else has held up well. It's done fine given that this is essentially my beater watch. The World Time features are nice and easy to use. You can select 5 time zones as your most frequent time zones for the primary timekeeping mode and then easily change the main time zone out as needed. It's particularly nice because you can easily turn DST on or off for any one time zone. It's also been holding time quite well. The 5 alarms are useful - They can be set to be single use or recurring which makes them nice for simple reminders or as a backup wake-up alarm (although it's a little quiet if you're a heavy sleeper). The digital timer is a very useful feature and the stopwatch works as advertised. The analog face is a little pointless in that it's extremely difficult to read compared to a true analog watch. The center dot is extremely large compared to the size of the face's hand segments. It's more of a novelty, but it does allow you to see the time in your primary time zone in all modes (including the stopwatch or timer mode) so it's useful in that respect. The Light is an orange/amber colored LED that illuminates the time from the side of the face rather than evenly throughout the entire face of the watch. It works fine, regardless. Need a cheap watch with plenty of features? It's not terribly slim, but it's got that great intersection of price and plenty of features that it's hard not to recommend.
