Great pack
first off I would like to say but this is not a $100 backpack. I've seen some reviews that compared this to higher-priced backpacks. This is a $20 backpack good for a day hike or just to carry your stuff in. It will never match up to $100 Osprey backpack and if you think it will then you're very delusional. It is what it is and that is a packable or foldable if you'd rather backpack. Let's not compare bananas with tennis balls because they're never going to match up. As far as this backpack I really do like it. It consists of two large compartments, one is smaller than the other. It's perfect for someone who may want to just take some stuff to the gym or just go on a little day hike. I can carry a pair of shoes, a rain jacket, occasionally a hoodie, my wallet, my keys,my phone, my tablet 2 bottles of water, and snacks and still have room. It is very roomy and because it is lightweight it is easy to haul around. Now I don't do much travel so I cannot tell you if it fits on an airplane or under a seat but it's great for just taking off for a nice day walk or maybe grab a bunch of stuff and take it to work. It's a great bag for what it is. This is the second one I've owned as the first one just wore out after several years. I would not consider this a good bag for a computer as it is rather thin with no padding but it is great for just carrying what you might need for a Day hike. It would even be good to take to the beach. I would recommend this bag for anyone looking for a simple little backpack to carry around their stuff in. I even have one that I use for emergency stuff. Just remember it is not $100 backpack so don't expect it to be but if you just want something lightweight to carry stuff around this is an awesome little backpack. it may not be right for everyone's needs so look before you buy but I think you will like this pack.

Lightweight, surprisingly capable daypack (with one tradeoff)
I’ve been using this Venture Pal 40L as a lightweight hiking and everyday adventure pack, and it’s been a solid performer for the price. It’s very light, packs down easily, and has more usable space than you’d expect. I’ve comfortably carried extra layers, water, snacks, and essentials without it feeling bulky. The shoulder straps are comfortable for short to medium hikes, casual walks, travel days, and general use. Zippers and stitching have held up well so far, and it’s great to keep in a car or suitcase as a “just in case” pack. That said, there is one important thing to know: it does not have a waist belt. Because of that, weight can shift to one side if you’re carrying heavier items (like a full water bottle). For longer hikes or heavier loads, you’ll notice this. For lighter, casual use, it’s totally fine. Overall, this is an excellent value pack for day hikes, travel, and everyday adventures. If you need a super lightweight, packable bag and don’t require a hip belt, this is a great choice.

This bag has no business being this good
A foldable lightweight backpack has no business being THIS well made THIS cheaply. I bought a second one I am so impressed. I travel a lot and love this because I can throw it easily into luggage and it becomes my bag for shopping, the gym, groceries and a spare bag if I buy too much. Let me tell you I have abused this bag. I have checked it, given it to luggage delivery companies, thrown it around on buses, boats and trains, I have stuffed it with way more mass and weight than is reasonable. I have done this brutal work on it for ober a year and even the top handle which is just a nylon strap which break almost instantly on any other bag shows ZERO sign of wear or abuse. No seams seem in danger of giving up despite totally unreasonable demands on it. I love the dry / wet separation and this thing always seems to be able to pass the “personal item” gauntlet airline companies do these days. Insanely, insanely good bag. I’m shocked.

Very lightweight backpack
I recently purchased the Venture Pal 40L Backpack for my outdoor adventures, and I must say it has exceeded my expectations. Here are my thoughts: Design and Durability: The backpack is made of high-quality tear and water-resistant nylon fabric. The heavy-duty metal zippers and reinforced stress points ensure long-lasting durability. I appreciate the double-layer bottom piece, which adds extra strength and allows me to carry more gear. Comfort and Fit: Weighing only 1 pound, this backpack is incredibly lightweight. It folds into its own pocket for easy storage and unfolds when needed. The breathable mesh shoulder straps with sponge padding make it comfortable to wear for extended periods. The chest clip with a whistle buckle helps distribute the weight evenly and keeps the pack steady. Storage Space: With 40L capacity, this backpack offers ample room for all my essentials. The multi-compartment design includes a main zipped compartment, front pockets, and side pockets. The separator and small zippered pocket inside the main compartment help keep things organized. Wet Pocket Design: The upgraded wet pocket is a game-changer. It’s perfect for separating sweaty clothes, towels, or other damp items after swimming or exercising. No more worrying about wet gear mixing with dry items! Versatility: Whether I’m hiking, traveling, or camping, this backpack fits the bill. It easily fits in my luggage for travel. The 40L capacity allows me to carry water, snacks, ropes, and tools comfortably. Affordability: At around $27.49 on Amazon, this backpack offers excellent value for its features and quality. It’s a budget-friendly option without compromising on functionality. In summary, the Venture Pal 40L Backpack is a reliable companion for outdoor enthusiasts. Its thoughtful design, durability, and comfort make it a must-have for hiking, camping, and other adventures. Highly recommended! 🌟🎒

A very Light weight, sturdy, inexpensive, functional, durable backpack.
This backpack weighs less than 1 pound. I bought mine in 2021 and so far it has spent 4-1/2 months traveling Europe with me as a "personal item" in addition to my roll-on bag. It has also been around the USA few times always stowed under my airplane seat with never an issue. I carry it on one shoulder comfortably as packed it usually only weighs 10-12 pounds total. I travel with an iPad not a laptop so that is weight and space saving. The quality for the price is fantastic! The straps are barracked (double sewn) at stress points and that is important for durability. It does not have the rigidity of many backpacks but the weight and space savings is well worthwhile. I'm 80+ years old and I love this thing! I recently tried to compare new backpacks for compression features, and kept this one and bought plastic compression bags for insertion into this backpack, why pay more for more weight and no more space!

Five years and going strong!
After 5 years of hiking and travel this is holding strong! Lightweight and packable without all the bulky extras like most of the pricier brands. And better quality than the 35 L model, which reviewers show has that awful plastic coating inside that peels and flakes. (If you want absolute waterproofing get a poncho or pack cover.) This one has actual nylon lining on both the bottom and the front panel to help protect things. And waterproof plastic back pocket is great for storing valuables in heavy rain or isolating them from other contents. After 5 years of use my pack has only one tiny (mendable) tear on an interior pocket seam. Comfortable straps are padded but flexible & not bulky. Side pockets are deep enough to keep water bottles from falling out and the elastic is still good. Sturdy and smooth-operating zippers. I just wish they made a smaller version (under 30 L) for doggo walks. Can't find anything on Amazon that looks as sturdy and affordable. One of the best $25 I ever spent.

Nice capacity and lightweight
March 18, 2025: I became aware of the Venture Pal backpack at a library where they may be checked out as part of a hiking kit. The backpack was roomy and had several compartments. I figured it would be useful for short trips and for carrying things while riding a bike. The one I borrowed from the library was blue, but I chose to purchase a green one. The green on the product page was brighter than I like, but I noticed that the blue was also different than the real backpack. From checking reviews, I confirmed that the green is darker than pictured, then ordered that color. I'll post photos to show the actual colors. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that the entire backpack may be compressed into a built-in pouch; which is how it arrived. Because of it's collapsible nature, there is no padding. The fabric is water resistant. I'll update the review if anything remarkable happens.

Best, Perfect…2nd One to buy!
Was looking for a lightweight, “waterproof “ type of backpack for vacation. I took a chance on this one since I saw some negative reviews. I was very happy with this pack. It was perfect with no fraying as I saw in other reviews. I never know if I can trust all the positive reviews..lol This thing had plenty of room and we used it actually as a regular backpack..even on the airplane to pack travel things. It had way more room than I thought and was so lightweight! It still looks perfect even after going all over Costa Rica. I highly recommend and loved the bright purple color. I will be getting another one!! Update 4/2023 Now, I have bought a 2nd one! I absolutely love this backpack. I bought a floral print this time and love it even more than the pink one. It really seems like the fabric may even be a little bit thicker than the pink one. Either way you cannot go wrong with these if you are looking for a light weight packable backpack. I love how it folds up into a zippered pocket in itself. Makes traveling with it easy and then you just fill with what you need for day trips once you are at your destination. Could be used as a regular backpack too.
