I finally settled on a sprinkle of Cayenne ๐ถ followed by biting a ๐ lemon. ๐
My husband said not to try the powdered form because it would taste bad, but it wasn't my first time downing a disgusting mixture every day so I decided to try it. I read all the reviews about it tasting horrible, and one of them pointed out that Magnesium just tastes bad so ordering it and complaining about the taste is silly.. If you have good-tasting magnesium it's probably a bad sign. Fair enough! WELL, let me tell you.. ๐ถ This is the absolute worst thing I have ever tasted. ๐ I thought I was prepared, but I was not. It is deceptive in that it has no smell really, and at first you can't taste anything at all. Then.... BOOM. ๐คฏ๐คข๐ตโ๐ซ๐๐ซ Absolutely nothing covered up the taste. Adding it to a drink didn't work even a teeny tiny bit. Not even pure lemon juice made a difference! Cinnamon, ginger, pepper, turmeric, salt.. I was scrambling through my spices and beverages, and I tried every single thing I could think of. It's just terrible and there is no disguising it. What I finally settled on was sprinkle of Cayenne powder, followed by licking or biting a lemon afterwards. ๐ The heat from the Cayenne distracts me from the taste while I'm drinking it, and the lemon kept me from having to endure the horrible aftertaste. ๐ซฃ I did it this way for about a week until I got used to it enough to ditch the lemon, but I still have to add Cayenne! It cracks me up to be honest.. I told my husband he was 1,000% correct, but I'm stubborn and was tired of spending money on the pill form so I was determined to figure it out. This is more cost effective, and again, it's just how magnesium tastes. Honestly it's not a big deal anymore, but it was quite the ordeal at first ๐ I'm giving it 5 stars because it is what it claims to be! It helps me with sleep and such. I just thought I'd be able to cover up the taste, and that is definitely not possible. Good luck! ๐

This Is Wonderful Magnesium!
I want to set the record straight about this product because I see a lot of negative reviews predicated upon the flavor. First of all, not everything thats good for you is going to taste good. Thats just part of life. Second - this stuff really doesn't even taste that bad. In fact, Magnesium Chloride tastes worse. No magnesium product in powder form that you add to water tastes good folks, unless its mixed with a bunch of artificial flavorings - which you DON'T want. The only way to bypass the flavor is to take it in capsules, which in my opinion: is not only much more expensive than buying a in bulk powdered form, but not as effective. Magnesium seems to work best when its mixed and dissolved in liquid. I take a teaspoon of this in my coffee in the morning, and an additional teaspoon at night. I don't complain about the taste, because I know its good for me! Wouldn't you rather do whats best for your health, even if it is mildly uncomfortable? I know I would! We live in a society where we are driven by our tastes buds and not our bodies dire need for real nutrition. As a culture we often neglect health foods because of how our palate has been programmed for nothing but junk. This magnesium tastes strongly like the amino acid glycine in its isolated form. Aside from the strong glycine flavor which is very sweet, there is a very slight fishy smell and flavor. This smell and flavor is not an indicator that this is a bad or rancid product. This is just what pure magnesium bisglycinate tastes and smells like! I love this stuff and it makes me feel amazing and helps with my anxiety and memory. I actually enjoy the flavor! If you find that this powder clumps in your liquid, which it will, I recommend the following: Buy a battery powered handle coffee frother. Its a little device that whips coffee at a high velocity. This will allow you to stir not only magnesium properly into your liquid solution - but any other hard to stir herbal or supplement powders. I give this a 5 out of 5 stars. If you have a weak stomach, I can see how you would not like this. Personally, I come from the perspective of " If its good for me and will help me have a bigger life - who cares what it tastes like. " You can easily slam a teaspoon of this stuff down. Compared to other magnesium products this is not only incredibly cost effective ( under 10 bucks ) but it works wonderfully and I feel like this stuff absorbs much better than the magnesium oxides, citrates, carbonates, malates, etc. The only other form of magnesium that I find works as well is Food grade magnesium chloride. A+ Product. I love the NOW foods brand. They deliver quality products and low prices.

Bad Taste
I have always trusted this brand of supplements, until now. I purchased this magnisium because of its higher content per 1 teaspoon dosage. This is the worst tasting product I have ever used. I canโt believe a manufacturer canโt add a small amount of flavoring to the product. This tastes worse than the colonoscopy prep stuff! If you need a magnisium glycinate supplement, look elsewhere, this is not it.

Great productโฆ terrible taste
Great price for what you get, and helps aid sleep. I havenโt gotten more hours of sleep this week according to my Oura ring, but I do feel like the quality of sleep I get is better. However the taste is absolutely terrible. To me, it tastes like a strong metallic fish. Had flashback when I smelled my cats tuna breath. It only tastes like the for a couple of seconds then it turns into an artificial sweeter kind of after taste. Oh boy did that take me by surprise. I have a hard time swallowing the big magnesium pills so I just bought the powder instead and didnโt look into it further than that. Almost yacked when took my first drink not knowing what I was about to taste. Anyways, mix it with orange juice. I only used enough to take it in one gulp. Then immediately followed it down with water. & donโt breath through your nose for a few seconds after wards, it will help not be able to taste it.

Yes, Terrible Taste, but the BEST Mag on the Market!
1. Albion (the real manufacturer of the core magnesium in this product) makes the most bioavailable form available! This is an excellent product! 2. There are other supplement companies that use Albion, BUT NOW Foods only adds citric acid! THATโS IT! One ingredient!! I applaud and praise NOW Foods for that! Too many other companies add inactive ingredients that are super bad for gut health, like Silicon dioxide (silica), maltodextrin, microcrystalline cellulose, calcium laurate (probably the least offensive), etc.. All of these additives disrupt gut health and the microbiome in some way, shape or form. And SO MANY supplement companies use these fillers/anti-caking ingredients in their products! Donโt take my word for it! Google the ingredient + gut health for yourself! All of the ingredients I mentioned have newer research papers on their effects on the gut. 3. Most things that are truly healthy for you DONโT TASTE LIKE CANDY OR FAKE FRUIT JUICE! Too many people have been pampered by societal norms and the overconsumption of creature comforts! Please stop your complaining. This product tastes like magnesium, because it IS MAGNESIUM! Take it because itโs an essential mineral and your body/300 enzymatic functions will thank you!! NOW Foods, please, please, PLEASE donโt ever change this formula to appease the pampered princess people! If you want to make an additional formula for the complainers, feel free, but PLEASE donโt change this one! I relinquish my soapbox. ;-P

Great if You want a higher dose per serving!
Not for me. Too strong. Made me bloated and gassy. Definitely a great option though for anybody that has a hard time swallowing pills. The taste wasn't the worst. Had kind of an off-putting, citrus taste. However, I would mix mine in with cherry bai or lemon core water. If you microwave 2 oz for 25 seconds, it helps the powder to dissolve. LOVE That this is 300 mg per 1 tsp serving as it is nearly impossible to find anything that strong in a capsule form. This will kick in quicker and relax you a little so I definitely advise taking it at night time and hour before bed. Good clean pure ingredients in this NOW product.

Tastes perfectly fine!!!
For years, I purchased magnesium bisglycinate from Thorne, but when they doubled the price of their already very expensive product and cut the amount of product to what looked to me like more than half, I turned to Now foods. Before purchasing their magnesium, I read the reviews, and the reviews were full of people talking about how terrible this stuff tastes โ one of the more colorful descriptions was that it taste like baking soda with Asian fish sauce. But please let me assure you it doesn't taste that bad! There's a very mild aftertaste a bit like the taste of Stevia, but it is no big deal. Please don't pass up.an excellent, effective โ It ends my heart palpitations, and helps me sleep โ and extremely reasonably priced product โ $14 for 8 ounces as compared to Thorne's 6.5 ounces for $50 โ because of concerns about the taste!

Quality product that works
Very happy for the price to actual supplement ratio. Lasts me nearly 8 months for less than $30AU. Worth it for how it makes me feel. Also for you babies who cannot stand the taste. I honestly cannot see why people are bother by the taste. It's fine. It's honestly mild compared to other supplements I've tried. Thank the gods it doesn't taste as bad as I've tasted. Anyway I at least understand since mum can't stand it either. But tolerates it with standard orange juice. It's probably a good thing to taste it anyway to prove it is what it is... The only time I've had Magnesium glycinate that is "foul" was out of cheap capsules from the supermarket that I tried dissolving. NOW's one taste brilliant in comparison.

Other ingredients: Citric Acid
Magnesium glycinate is a good form of magnesium but citric acid is highly dangerous for some people and unfortunately I'm one of them. If you have sensitive stomach be careful with this product. Look for a product with no ingredients. Even caps with tons of ingredients are way safer than this product.
