All of our traditional door stoppers screwed into our baseboards have failed, leaving holes in both our baseboards and our walls (you can see a patched hole in the wall and a not-yet-patched hole in the baseboard). We went with this alternative for our door to our garage, where there's very high traffic. Sturdy is a necessity, and I like the magnetic aspect to keep the door open when needed. We only had to use the sticker to apply, and it's held up beautifully now for several months. The device is too large to fit on our baseboard, so I placed it just above the baseboard on the wall, and it's worked perfectly. It's not exactly discreet or low profile, but for this specific spot in our home it's exactly what we need.

UPDATE: I put a half dozen of these up with 3M tape and just LOVE them. However, even though they held perfectly for several months, I struck one while vacuuming and the 3M tape held but my painted drywall did not. If you have the time, mount them with screws (which I will do as soon as the drywall mud & paint repairs dry). Mount them high enough that you or a robot vacuum won't hit them. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I originally just bought one of these but after seeing how easy it was to install, bought another 5 for other doors that occasionally need to be propped open. They are well made and effective. If anything, the magnetic hold is a bit too strong... so I solved that by just adding two layers of thin circular stickers to the door side piece (concavity) which fit neatly into the bowl and are not visible.

I LOVE these magnetic door stoppers. They were super easy to install and work beautifully. The only reason I gave it 4/5 stars instead of the full 5 was because the one I installed in my bathroom began to rust after a year or so (from the mist of the shower). If you’re putting this in other areas of your home then I highly recommend it!

We used the adhesive at first. The adhesive to the wall was great. Very Strong, but the adhesive on the door fell off almost immediately. The magnet just pulled it off, so we drilled that one in. Magnet is very strong. Actually requires a little bit of force to let go when you want to close the door (but my toddler can do it no problem). The little spring action is nice as well to absorb when the door is pressed into it. While the magnet is strong though, if you swing the door open, it will just bounce off the magnet. You have to sort of intentionally open the door and have it stick.

Decent quality, 3m sticky side works great, magnets are strong in hand to test, but with the weight of a door they can just barely keep it stuck open. Very easy to close. They do the job though...I doubt it will hold up in any wind though.

Used to update and replace an old broken door stop. Super easy to install plus The magnet on this is crazy strong, we have it on our garage door and if the door is thrown open too much it catches and holds it every time. Will be buying more for other doors.

The sticker adhesive option probably won’t hold on any surfaces - it fell off mine right away - so if you can put a couple holes in your baseboard & door then this is great. The spring action that has a little give when the pieces collide is really nice, and the magnet to hold it open is perfect strength.

Does the job but received with several scratches on it, like it was used. Didn't want the hassle of returning. Kind of cheaply made but wasn't real expensive so you get what you pay for. If I had it to do over, I would spend extra for a more heavy duty product.

3m tape come off the wall within days of installation. I think because the magnet on the stopper means each time you close the door it's pulling on the tape quite a bit.

Easy to use

Easy to install and worked great at first. After a couple of months however the magnet doesn't seem to be holding very well.
