DCU: Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox (Blu-ray)We all wish for the chance to go back in time and change the things, for The Flash, that coveted chance is within reach. He traverses time to right a violent, decades-past crime against his mother, but the ripples of his good intentions prove disastrous, as a fractured, alternate reality now exists in place of the familiar one. Stumbling through this twisted reality where even Superman is nowhere to be found, The Flash seeks the trusted wisdom of Batman, only to find a grittier, more violent Dark Knight in his place. Together with the help of Cyborg, they race to restore the continuity of Flash's original timeline while this new world is ravaged by a fierce war between Wonder Woman's desertcarts and the Atlanteans, led by a battle hardened Aquaman. With breath taking action and an all-star voice cast featuring Kevin Conroy, C. Thomas Howell and Dana Delany, it's a bold, emotional vision that will forever change the landscape of the DC Universe!]]> Review: Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox - I waited for this release with eager anticipation and I wasn't disappointed. The movie flowed well with the Flash as the main character as well as the alternate Batman who was Bruce Wayne's father in this version. This is also Flash story, so you would have to know a little something about the villains and supporting cast around the Flash. I'm also speaking on the Barry Allen Flash, and not the Wally West Flash which is going back at least 20 or even 30 years. I have not followed a Flash series since the 80s. However, I think the story does a decent job explaining these characters if your not familiar with the Flash characters. But this isn't just about the Flash, this is really a crazy version about what if you change something in your life. Does it effect other people around you, even your closest friends? Clearly, the answer is yes in this movie. This starts with Flash as he saves his mom from being murdered only to find the World on the brink of World War 3. Aquaman and Wonder Woman are main the antagonists here who use their empires to plunge the Earth into chaos. Superman also is found hidden away by the United States Government as a socially crippled man treated like some science experiment gone array. In this alternate reality of Superman, his rocket crashed in Metropolis that killed thousands, instead of crashing in rural Kanas where no one was hurt. Thus, from childhood, Superman is raised in a harsh government facility instead of the farm life of his loving adoptive parents, the Kents. I don't want to ruin the movie for you, but reading up the Flashpoint comic book series would help understand some of these changes. I think the movie stayed on point and told an effective story, even better than the comic books. I would rate this as well done. I just wished than more detail would have went into the war between Wonder Woman and Aquaman. They really only briefly touched on the reasons behind the war, which in my opinion weren't enough of an explanation. Cyborg was a pleasant character who seem to be the most level headed hero in this world. The Thomas Wayne Batman was great, as a doctor turned crime fighter, with even a more ruthless moral code than his son Bruce who was murdered that night in the dark alley instead of Thomas and his wife, which the movie clearly hints as her being the Joker. I also wish more time could have spent on Thomas Wayne's world since he was also a main character in this movie. Here, unlike Bruce Wayne who projected the playboy image, Thomas alter ego as casino tycoon was a bit more rough edged, since running a few casinos in Gotham City which put him at a greater financial pressure on his business and as a crime fighter. Thomas partially explained this on his Bat plane when he flew the Flash, Cyborg, and the Shazam kids to Europe, to confront Aquaman and Wonder Woman. The Batman Flashpoint comic books were fun to read. They could have used some of that material too. The Reverse Flash is excellently portrayed in this film as the main villain. I don't think he really ever got his due on the screen until now. I really enjoyed the final scenes as Flash battled Reverse Flash. I think an origin story might have came in handy on the Reverse Flash but with so much going on, clearly there would have been no where to fit it. I would recommend this animated movie as a must see. Review: This Is a Perfect Cinematic Movie. - This is one of the Best movies I've ever seen, at least of the genre. If you do not "like" The Flash, the superhero, do not be fooled: this is Not about Flash. You must have a working knowledge of the DC universe and the Justice League characters to fully understand what is happening, and who the names and characters are; but beyond that, you do Not even have to be a DC Fan. Quite the contrary, as the headline suggests Everything in this movie was Excellent: cinematography, action, story, plot, characterization, sound, animation, backdrops, the ending, and even the very-ending (different than ending) Is Perfection. This movie is an animated Masterpiece, and is Severely Underrated. From what I saw, the actual framerate animation may be lacking some "highest" quality, as in 60fps and UHD resolutions, but this is just graphical fidelity and does not hold up to legitimate critique, especially since most films are not billion-dollar Marvel blockbusters, and never feasibly could be. This movie Is a Masterpiece. It is only a shame that most will never see it in the sea of garbage known as FOMO-Modern "Entertainment." If you are wondering where to start with DC, then why not start with the Best? The Flashpoint Paradox is cinematic brilliance, and not Only for the genre of animated-action superhero movies.

The best DC alternate universe movie ever made.
No spoilers: I'm a huge fan of the Bruce Timm DC era. I own every episode of BAS, Superman, Batman Beyond, JL, JLU and every straight to DVD movie they have put out. I was extremely worried that the new members of the production crew would drop the quality bar that had been set over the past 20 years. I'm so glad that I was wrong. I enjoy having a great WHAT IF? storyline throw my way every once in a while. I buy a lot of TPBs and some of my favorites are those that are not taken from the mainline books, but from mini-series by creators who just like to tell good stories with established characters. Cosmic Odyssey, The Nail 1&2, etc... This film feels exactly like those books to me. I was blown away by the story. The concept of some of these characters had never even occurred to me, and I love just talking to my co-workers about it. Fresh ideas with a lot of fun twists on old faces (pun intended, watch it and you'll understand). The animation is pretty amazing and I love the style of the characters. Fun proportions, graphic and smoothly animated. A lot of foreshortening and great dynamics. I'm also an artist by trade and I find this movie to be very inspiring. Please, do me and yourself a favor and purchase this film :)

No te decepcionará.

After "Doom" the standard for DCU productions is quite high and this effort did not disappoint. The art is edgy, bordering on anime but still remaining true to the source material. The esthetic of the art becomes all the more relevant as the alternate timeline concept is introduced. The story is solid drama. If you could change a critical event in your life, and had the power to do so, would you and if so, would you be prepared to face the consequences of such action? This is the essence of the Flashpoint storyline. The voice work is solid, featuring Kevin Conroy, exceptional as always as Batman, Justin Chambers is Flash, Barry Allen and Kevin McKidd as alt universe Batman. The story is emotionally resonant, Barry Allen visits his mother's grave with his wife, Iris, and laments his inability to save her during a home invasion. He is called to action by his rogues' gallery of villains attacking the museum that honors him. This attack is of course a ruse, headed by his nemesis Prof. Zoom (C. Thomas Howell). This is all minor exposition, however, as the real crux of the story occurs when Barry/Flash awakes in his lab depowered and his world re-written. His mother lives, the Justice League does not exist and the world is a battle ground between Atlanteans, lead by Aquaman, played with malefic aplomb by Cary Elwes and the Themyscarians, led by Wonder Woman, played with equal viciousness by the solid voice veteran Vanessa Marshall. Gone are the standard compassionate portrayals of these comic book legends. Aquaman is cruel, calculating and menacing. Wonder Woman normally depicted as the paragon of honor here too is cruel. She is equally vicious, cunning and merciless, exhibited by her executing a prisoner of war by hanging. This is not your Saturday morning fare...it is harsh, dark, and absolutely brilliant. The backstory of what causes the war is no less disturbing. The animation simply hammers home the point that these are not the heroes we are used to. Superman, one of the cornerstone's of DC since the 30s, is used to brilliant effect as an emaciated, confused, broken version of himself. The true wonder of the story besides Barry Allen`s attempt to re-obtain his powers and repair this world so desperately close to the brink is the Batman. In any incarnation, Batman is formidable, the pinnacle of physical excellence and tactical brilliance. He is no less so in this universe, further his story arc is fantastic and packs an emotional punch. His interactions with Flash are powerful storytelling in any milieu. The end game is grand, nearly operatic in scope and yet again the presence of the dark knight is integral to the conclusion. I would dearly love to delve more deeply into the individual story arcs that make up this epic, but to do so might ruin the many twists and turns and deprive the viewer of a truly wondrous viewing experience. Simply outstanding and well worth your time. I eagerly await DCU's next project, "War" as right now, they have it right and exceed Marvel in the realm of animation.

Esta película en la edición de Reino Unido, viene en español latino, nada de castellano, pero como en España no ha sido editada es una buena oportunidad para hacerse con ella. Por mi parte ha sido un buena compra.

I think this is the best movie DC has made to date. The animation is great, actually I think it is more anime that animation. If you have read the comic you already know the story. The film takes the brutality to a new level. Honestly if you though Wonder Woman [DVD] [2009] [1975 ] was brutal this one it its older brother. I would not recommend this for kids under 12 possible 15 even. After his latest battle with the rouges and Professor Zoom, the Flash wakes up in a world where everything has changed. His friends and the world greatest heroes have declared war on each other. They have no problem destroying the world to see each other dead, and anyone who happens to be in their way. The main thing about this movie and the comic it is not set in another timeline or in another Earth, something has changed the timeline moving everything over slightly. I read some of the negative reviews , I have to say the explanation is a bit weak but it is time travel , not theoretical physics. I does not take away from the fact that the other 89 mins of the film is great. I said in the comic I loved the Flash and Batman team up, I would like to see more of that with the "real" Batman. Batman seem to have a sort of big brother relationship with the Flash, sort of like he has a father to the Robins. It is really cool that Flash is the fastest man alive but Batman is mentally 3 steps ahead of him, then Flash with do something that is so unpredictable that even Batman would not be able to think of it. I hope to see more of these team ups not just the big 3. A great movie, if you read the comic you will not be disappointed, if you like the Justice League it is great to see the evolution of the characters in this characters are older, simply as it is more a more mature audience. Be prepared for the brutally and in some cases cold blooded murder, you would never belive the "heroes" are capable of. It proves there is a thin line between heroes and villains.
