small, light, rechargeable, lots of extra erasers.
very cool device. ive had several different electric erasers over the decades, this is the lightest, most compact one ive ever used. measures 5.5in or about 14cm in length. comes with lots of eraser refills in two sizes; small and smaller. includes several extra corresponding sized retainers. a protective clear plastic cap is included to protect the eraser when not in use. rechargeable, light touch button. great for fine detailed work. would buy again.

I like this even more than I expected to
What a great, handy tool for people like me who are amateur artists! My husband (an actual artist) suggested one of these when I first took an interest in learning to paint and draw and I blew it off, thinking it was not necessary and would probably end up unused in a drawer. I could not have been more wrong. This thing is fabulous! It’s so fast, and so thorough. It comes with a ton of replacements eraser heads, which are super simple to install. It’s cute too. I bought the one in blue for myself and a pink one for a friend who is also dabbling in art. I find color to be very helpful in finding things in a hurry. I only have a small desk to store all my supplies in and finding things quickly is important to me. I put this in a narrow drawer with my other erasers and pencils. The replacement eraser heads are in a little bag so they’re not spilling out all over the place. Great price too. I hope to enjoy it for many years.

This is a great Tool to have for artists and Hobbyists!!!
I love this item. Never knew that electric easers existed. It’s easy to use. It charges quickly and the different size easers make it easy for me to use with my colored pencils. Great tool for adult artists and hobbyists.

pretty fabulous with usage update
I have been an interior designer for 24 years, have always done architectural plans and drawings by hand and have always had an electric eraser. And I have been through a lot of them in that time. I had to replace my original Sakura a couple of times, had a Staedler that didn't work for very long and currently use an Alvin that is on it's last legs, which is why I purchased this Afmat. I haven't used it for long but so far I am very impressed and it looks like it could be the best one yet! It is comfortable to hold and it works brilliantly right out of the box. The eraser speed is so fast that it does a particularly good job of cleanly erasing pencil lines (which is what I use it for). The only slight negative is that the activation button is very touch sensitive, almost too sensitive. But I see this as something to get used to, so not a complete negative, and that I have to be careful how to store it because it activates as it bumps into things. The eraser holder works with all of my existing refills. I have Staedler refills and Sakura refills that were always slipping down in my Staedler and Alvin erasers. The Afmat holds both sizes without issue. And I love that it comes with two extra eraser holders for each size, the first eraser that I purchased to have included these. The other unique feature I like is the cover for the eraser head. The little brush is nice but not sure what I will use it for. I have yet to try the mini erasers, having this option is a first for me but I can see so many applications for using these! The only other possible downside is that the USB cable it came with is very, very short so I am not sure where I will be able to plug it in to charge. But I'll figure it out, it's a small thing well made up for by never again having to replace batteries. A final note on why I picked this unit. Many of my other erasers had issues with the batteries leaking or getting corroded inside the battery case, and often this could not be cleaned enough to get it to continue working properly but not always. Never having to worry about this again is a huge plus. Assuming of course that the rechargeable batteries don't fail as I don't believe they are replaceable. I'm excited to get back to my drawings now with the help of my fabulous new eraser! I'll update this review if I run into any issues but I am very happy on initial tryouts. Update after using for 3 months: I don't use it continuously but often and the battery needed to be charged for the first time today. And this is where I ran into an issue. As mentioned previously, it takes a little getting used to as the eraser runs way faster than than any other brand I have used. And the side button is extremely touch sensitive and in a location where it is easy to activate by accident. But my biggest issue is that when the battery went dead it literally died from one second to the next. No slowing down the way an electric toothbrush will, no warning whatsoever, just working perfectly to dead in an instant. This is a big issue when one in in the middle of a project. Luckily my old eraser is still useable so I could continue on. But if not for that, this would have been a very annoying problem that would negatively impact my ability to continue working. For these reasons I have downgraded my review to 4 stars. And strongly recommend that if you have critical need of an eraser make sure to have a backup.

Pretty unbelievable for the money
I'm a retired professional illustrator and professor who used to work traditionally before going digital. I'm getting back into traditional work, and my old Koh-I-Noor handheld no longer holds a charge (I've got replacement batteries on order and plan to fix it). In the meantime, I bought this device, and it's inexpensive enough to serve as a standby until I get my full-size Koh-I-Noor up and running again. SO when this arrived, I was immediately shocked at the size and weight of the box (meaning it's small and light). This is an *extremely* light device, most likely because the battery and motor inside are probably small. When I opened the box, I was again shocked at how small it is – about 2/3 the length of the Koh-I-Noor, and not nearly as wide. It arrived uncharged, so I charged it up and gave it a go. It is light, quiet, and does a good job. The erasers are much smaller in length and diameter than my old one, but they work great. I'm initially finding the smaller size to be a negative, but I'll probably adjust with use. Quite a few reviewers mention that the button is too sensitive and turns on too easily. Well, so is the professional-grade Koh-I-Noor's button – this is on purpose so that you don't have to strain and you can focus on your work. As a professional, I see it as a feature, not a fault. I don't think I'll ever have a use for the micro-sized smaller erasers, and can't even imagine them not flexing too much and/or breaking often – they're about the thickness of a color pencil lead. The larger size seems much more useful, but is still considerably smaller than the standard size you'll find in most click-style erasers. One important way of using electric erasers like this is to cut the end squarely so you have a sharp edge for maximum control. I used to do that by holding an x-acto knife against the spinning eraser and it would cut through leaving a perfectly clean, square edge in a second or two. This one doesn't have the power – the x-acto knife stalls the motor. Ah well – you can cut it by eye, but it may not come out as perfect. I did this and it worked just fine. So it seems to work fine to me. I have a couple of cordless pencil sharpeners from AFMAT which work great, get a lot of use, and have held up well for a couple of years, so I imagine this little guy will last awhile. If it breaks or fails at some point I'll update this review. $16... amazing. I think I paid about $70 for the Koh-I-Noor back in the early '90s – just checked and that's a bit over $175 in today's dollars, or about 12 of these mini-me devices. It's not a pro device by any means, but if it does a decent job when needed I'll be happy.

The Thing I Didn't Realize I Needed All This Time
I've filled several sketch books in my life and not once have I had an electric eraser. I didn't even know that was a thing! And I'm wondering why I've never been made privy to this absolute GEM of a tool before by my fellow art friends!!! All my life, I've oh so carefully erased..... and I've always had to redo parts where I didn't have an eraser "tiny enough" to get delicate small areas of my sketches. NO MORE! Not only does this get those Itty bitty detailed areas, it leaves behind NO TRACE of the offending lines that were the bane of my existence! (At least... as long as you drew it lightly). Wasnt expecting it, but this eraser comes fully charged. Also comes with a TON of eraser tips both tiny and still kinda small (which I'm sure I will blow thru because they seem to break apart fast but for how many there are initially, the understanding behind their intended purpose- its an eraser it's going to wear down fast, and for how well this works I'm OK with that!!) I love that there is a cap. I have not had any issues with the motor "bogging down" as other reviewers have stated (are those experiencing this like... jamming it down hard into the sketch pad? Cuz you *shouldnt* be. It doesn't take much to erase and actually takes a gentler touch than a regular gum or plastic eraser!) And so far I've gotten 3- 5 or 6 hour sessions with this eraser with it needing no charge yet or even slowing (granted I do not solely use only this eraser during sketching sessions but I *do* use it a whole heck of a lot during that time!) I have not had a problem with this and I absolutely love everything about this real magic eraser, but I do foresee how it could be one if I were to casually put this eraser in a box or drawer a bit carelessly, but: the button to work the eraser is very VERY sensitive! It works perfectly for my home need but I probably would not take this out of my house if I sketched on the go, because it would activate and wear out packed in a bag or box. I love the sensitivity for the use, but a cap that also covers that sensitive button so it couldnt be pressed on the go or while set in an art box, bag, or drawer would make this absolute perfection.

A must-have tool—versatile, rechargeable, and incredibly precise!
I absolutely love this eraser. It provides the perfect amount of precision for bringing out fine details, but it’s versatile enough for both small and large jobs. Don’t sleep on this tool—the fact that it’s rechargeable adds so much value. It’s hard to put into words just how neat it is to own one of these. It has become an essential part of my drawing kit, and I highly recommend it to any artist looking for accuracy and convenience!

Excelente está borracha elétrica. Já tenho uma Derwent mas não é tão boa quanto esta. Adorei.

Good product. Safe to purchase.
I love it, does fine detailed erasing and has a thicker one for more heavy duty erasing. Only wish I didn't have shaky hands as that sometimes makes a bit of a mess on my coloured pencil work. This is a fabulous little piece of equipment to have in your drawing arsenal.

Quality Product
It comes with ample supply of eraser tips in 2 sizes, recharges quick and efficient, easy to use and fits well in hand. The button is touchy, if you're travelling around with it maybe find a snug spot it won't move in. A stand like a soldering iron stand would be useful for the desk or a kick stand on the product. But over all I've found it very effective, it halves the time I draw now and I wouldn't go back.
