Great mitts that I have used for years. Very pliable unlike rubbery type and when dirty just wash in washing machine. even when dried in dryer takes some time to dry completely inside but worth it for cleanliness

I love these oven mitts! They are thick, have the metallic material in the inside, and fit my larger hands and forearms. If you are a twig, then these are not the mitts for you. The are a super value, priced much lower than most subpar mitts. I used them when baking sourdough bread where I heat the oven and dutch oven up to 500 degrees and these protect my hands and forearms while getting the very HOT dutch oven out of my oven. For the reviews that say they are burning their hands using these mitts, Are you carrying your hot item over to the neighbors house???!!! Using them to get the hot item out of the oven and on to a hot pad or trivet on the counter by the stove, I guarantee that you will not burn your hands! I was looking for a neutral off white color and stumbled across these. Now, these are the only oven mitts that I use.

A nice simple pair of oven mitts with a great price for the pair. The mitts are working well - protecting hands from heat even when holding onto something hot for a longer period of time, like holding a cookie tray while you move the cookies over to a cooling rack, or holding a casserole while you find a place to set it down. I haven't had to wash them yet, I've just spot cleaned them.

These are the best oven mitts I've ever owned. Taking a pan out of a 450-degree oven and I felt absolutely NO WARMTH whatsoever! They are a bit on the large size, but I do have small hands. They are great for my six-foot tall hubby though - no more squishing his fingers into regular oven mitts! I do wish that they came in a color other than white - these are going to get stained and looking rough fairly quickly - but I would definitely purchase again!

I love these! I am a lunch lady and our steamer at school is wicked. I have burned myself on a few occasions. No matter how I would approach the container to remove, steam would still get me. I received a couple really bad burns. These come up far enough that I haven't had problems with the steam any longer. I will warn that once these get wet from the steam, they do not insulate to remove hot items from the oven. Found that out the hard way. A pair for each would be a good idea. Don't use wet ones on oven items but it does still work with the items from the steamer. I would definitely buy again and probably will.

I have used the oven mitts twice, The second time I used them, I put one of these mitts on one hand and used a silicone mitt on the other hand (Mastrad brand) silicone mitt. It is a lined silicone mitt. It tested better on a cast iron skillet pulled from a 425 degrees oven, meaning I was able to hold the hot pot longer with the silicone mitt. The terry cloth mitts are a good size, comfortable to wear and prevent burns effectively. The silicone gloves kept hands cooler and they are much easer to clean! Dishwasher safe. Unfortunately, these terry cloth white mitts are already stained after only two uses. That is my fault, I used them on cast iron skillet that is very well seasoned. Anyone who cooks with seasoned iron knows that they get charcoaled around the outside, which stains cloth. I do like these mitts and will use them only with my stainless steal pots from now on. I threw these in the washing machine, not sure yet if the stains will come out. I rarely buy anything white, My fault, I know better. Not the fault of the oven mitts. Arrived on time and exactly as described. I would give four stars if not for the cloth staining so easily. Also I don't like the claim that these protect up to 600 degrees, I doubt that's the truth. Update 1/11/14 Most of the stains came out after 3 washings. The terry cloth started to show threads (unravel), so I turned the mitts inside out. I like them much better this way. I can just run a quick rinse over them after using; Works much better. The silver colored lining actually looks better too.

UPDATE: Over 2 years later and these are still amazing. I never feel the heat, no matter how hot the oven. These mitts are the BEST. It's funny how MANY reviews on oven mitts there are. And they all seem to be all over the place. Good, bad, ugly, etc. But these mitts? AWESOME! I don't care for the color being so light, but I can live with that. When I first got them I machine washed them. I cut any stray threads off of them after the dryer and started using them. My girlfriend's father (a cooking nut) starting complaining right away about how "they'll never hold the heat", "all oven mitts are worthless", etc. The funny thing is that as he's saying all of this stuff, I was standing in front of him for almost 5 minutes holding a pot I just took out of the 450 degree oven. Once he realized that was the case, he suddenly said, "Maybe these WILL work". And they DO. The best I've ever used.

nice mitts but the lining tore all to heck on the second use. I understand that I didn't buy top of the line mitts but come on.
