Koss KSC75 Portable On-Ear Clip Headphones, Retro Style, Ultra Lightweight, Silver and Black

Recently, I purchased a pair of Panasonic RP-HJE-120 in-ear earbuds, which I reviewed elsewhere on Amazon.com. As I mentioned in my review, they have excellent sound. But although they are comfortable, they still make me feel as if my ears are stuffed up, and I can barely hear myself talking while I'm wearing them. So I wanted something that would provide less noise isolation, yet at the same time offer comfort and good sound quality at a reasonable price. So after reading all the favorable reviews on the Koss KSC75 ear clip headphones, I went ahead and bought a pair. I must say that these are the most comfortable headphones I have ever tried. The foam-padded earcups rest comfortably against my ears and do not block out ambient noise like in-ear earbuds. The ear clips slip on and off easily, although the earcups sometimes inadvertently snap off, as other reviewers have mentioned. This is not a big problem because they snap back onto the clips easily. And they sound great. The sound is more open and spacious than that of the Panasonic earbuds, with crisp highs, clear mids and solid, but not boomy bass. Many reviewers have commented that the bass is lacking, but I discovered a very simple technique to enhance it. Just slip a sports headband over the earcups and position the front of the headband over your forehead. The flexible headband will apply slight pressure to the earcups to improve the bass response. If the headband is too loose, you can use a safety pin or two to take up some slack and make it fit more snuggly. If you wear these headphones while working out like I do, the headband will not only absorb perspiration from your forehead, but it will keep the earcups more securely in place and press the earcups more snuggly against your ears to really bring out the bass. There is really no need to remove the earcups from the clips and attach them to a metal headband, as some reviewers have suggested. For about $15, they are a great value. The headphone market is cluttered with all kinds of garbage from fly-by-night companies looking to cash in on the popularity of personal music players and smart phones. But Koss has been around for over half a century and is one of the few American companies left from the early days of hi-fi, so they have a rich legacy. The KSC75 uses the same drivers as the company's well-regarded PortaPro headphones, which have been on the market for years. In short, the KSC75 is a great-sounding, comfortable headphone at a bargain price from a company reknown for its headphones. What more could you ask for?

I really don’t leave reviews generally but had to for this one. I’m an audio engineer and I have neck issues so I can’t wear headphones for long sessions. I was looking for something similar for a while - and I am SHOCKED at the audio quality these headphones have! Not only for the price, which is insane, but the overall quality is just wonderful! They’re super lightweight, small and fit, don’t make my neck hurt, and have amazing functionality and frequency range. Absolutely amazing find!!

I have bought so many headphone brand wired/wireless. Ranging from 20$ to 300$. From at least 20 headphones, this is the best one. Only if we are talking about the audio. They are not that comfortable, feel cheap, cable is short and they are easy to break. Also volume is kind of low on my pc. I use a external software to help with that. Audio. 10/10 Comfortable. 6/10 Durability. 3/10 Price. 10/10 My story with them... I have bought at least 5 pairs of them, they sound amazing. I enjoy listening to good audio on music and movies. Can't compete with the price, the only problem is that they just randomly die from 1 ear. They usually last me 4 months, I first thought I was the problem and I didn't take care of them well enough but I then bought another pair and the same thing happened then bought another pair as a gift for my brother and he also had the same problem. A few months later, I bought 2 more pairs and you guessed it. They just work from 1 side. I still have them, I was hoping to be able to fix them, but I found out that the cable was not the problem. It was the speaker that died, so I couldn't do anything. I have tried getting 2 speakers different cables and fixing them but failed. I gave up and bought the another model Porta pro which is 40$. They sound really good, and are still working. I also bought a bluetooth adapter, because the cable is really short in my opinion.

At around a $19 price point for comfort and sound these headphones are pretty much unbeatable. Given my tinnitus I have problems With earbuds and some headphones and after much trial and error and a lot of wasted money I can honestly say these are the best I have found for a comfortable long use great sounding headphone, especially given they are $19 sometimes even cheaper if you can find them on sale. I have heard a small amount of people complain about the weight of them on their ears which is surprising to me given how light they are I have never had this problem and find them to be far more comfortable than headphones or earbuds and have genuinely forgotten I was wearing them before. The only two negatives I have to say which aren't necessarily negatives is one they might pinch a little when you first try them on so you will probably need to bend the cuff to the shape of your ear, but after doing that a few times these are the most comfortable headphones I own now. the second thing given the open ear nature of the headphone you won't hear the base as well, It's there you just won't hear it unless you get something that will press it against your ear like a headband (which you can buy from a third party) but there are pros and cons either way with the bass. Cons of wearing them stock are I Wouldn't necessarily recommend them for rap and hip hop but even without any modifications they still have a decent bass sound, maybe not enough for some of the audiophiles out there. the pros If you wear them stock you don't really lose anything on your highs and mids so they are good for every other type of music and great for Youtube and podcasts especially where ear fatigue would be a consideration. where I would also highly recommend them surprisingly is for gaming they have great directional awareness, and because the lack of bass you can hear sound cues more effectively. There is no microphone in the cord for anyone wondering although I have seen variations of these with a microphone But I would just get yourself a separate mic if you want to play with others when you use these. They are open ear design obviously not noise canceling but they work well if you need to hear your surroundings. I don't know if I would take them out on a jog or not but they work very well at a desk if you need to hear what's going on around you. I never write reviews unless I really hate a product or really like it, and I cannot stress this enough You will be shocked at how good these sound for $19 and I would highly recommend you check them out. Or maybe if you just wanna break from earbuds and headphone clamp either way they're definitely worth the purchase.

There are my current daily drivers whenever I'm at my desk. I normally use IEM's but they lack the depth headphones and can hurt the inside of my ears over time. I however hate the strain of wearing headphones all day and the pressure it puts on my head and ears. While there are headphones that are comfortable and don't do this they all still mess up my hair. The KSC75's however check every box. I get the depth from using headphones, my hair remains untouched, and my ears don't hurt. Not to mention the sound quality. There is a reason these headphones are still being produced today. They're really light and I often forget I'm wearing them. It provides immersive and full sound that I just can't get with IEM's. The directional audio from these is also great for games. While there is some sound leakage if listening at high volume. In most cases others shouldn't be able to hear what you're listening to. I often just throw them in my bag and take them with me. The clip actually did break off, likely me being to rough with it in my bag. I was able to just push it back in and it functioned exactly as it did prior. I would prefer if the cable was removable so I could switch it out if anything were to happen to it and if the build quality was a bit better. The audio more than makes up for this along with the price. Also, we dem boyz. My girlfriend has a lot of ear piercings and they found it comfortable as well.

These have great drivers and sound quality. The ear hooks are pretty robust. I even had one come out when I dropped them and it snapped back in good as new. They stay on my head well, but they do squeeze the pinna. It's like wearing badly fitting glasses. Not good for long listening sessions. Additionally, this sort of form factor is at it's absolute worst in wired form--and it's the worst form of wired headphone I've used as well, simply from how they handle off ear. They're clumsy to manipulate. If you wear glasses of any kind they're even worse because now the space behind your ear is very crowded, which is very fatiguing, and to make it that little bit worse, removing the headphones will probably pull your glasses off and removing your glasses with pull on the headphones.

I had been looking for two pairs of open-back headphones to use on a Bluetooth audio splitter for wife and I to enjoy TV/movies downstairs at a louder volume and have more immersive audio without waking the kids up, but also have just enough sound leakage to still be able to talk and hear each other's voices when we wanted to discuss; this perfectly fit the bill and then some. The soundstage and audio quality surpassed expectations, even given the positive reviews in the audiophile community. That, in combination with the clarity in the vocals and music/sound mix (and sufficient, not overpowering bass), made us feel like we were in a room with a very decent stereo setup, while still being able to talk to each other. If you're looking for a similar solution, it's an insane upgrade over TV speakers.

If these were $50 headphones I'd give them 4 stars. As they cost less than a replacement set of apple earbuds, they get 5 stars. I can't wear in ear canal plug style headphones while running. They drive me crazy. Also, I don't like to have all sound drowned out while running either. I like music, but also to be able to hear cars, other runners or cyclists, etc while I'm running. I also find it easier to think when I don't have that "empty world, full ear" sensation that in canal ear buds give. Thus, I turned to these. I bought a pair five years ago and always loved them, they eventually crapped out on me when they had become tangled with some other chords in a drawer and I pulled the chord a little too hard. I tried out similar products, but given the price and sound quality, these still seem to be king. They are decently balanced sound wise. They're bass light compared to ear canal type buds, as they simply can't hold in bass the way that those can. But they are solid bass wise. And the bass is well articulated and clear. It's just not heavy. The highs and midrange are clear yet smooth. These are great for audiobooks and podcasts, as the regular vocal range is exceptionally crisp, articulate and clear. Rock music shines in these, as they really bring out rock guitars and vocals. They have a surprisingly wide soundstage (ie you can spatially locate where instruments are, and pick apart various different instruments as being left or right and even up or down, near and far). Classical and Jazz are good in them. Modern dance pop and hip hop suffer slightly from lack of bass, though they're not bad by any means, it's just not where these shine. They stay on my head when I run, and most importantly for me, they don't generate sound in my ears on their own. With in ear buds I always would hear it when the cable jostled around. With these all you hear is whatever is around you in the environment and the music coming out of the headphones. I frequently wear them with sunglasses (ray ban aviators) and a hat and have no issues with them fitting on my ears. The chord is a bit tangly and thin. This could be improved, but is hard to find fault with in a sub $15 headphone. There is no in line microphone or volume control, as these came out before that was a thing. The earpads are comfy to me, but get even comfier if you wash them in warm soapy water once. These aren't ultra durable, but they are reasonably durable. They have a lifetime guarantee. But honestly they'll last you a couple of years, and I'd gladly just replace them every couple of years at this price. If they were $50+ I'd expect a lot more durability, but at their price point 2-4 years worth of every day active use is more than a bargain.
