Koss KSC75 On-Ear Headphones, Silver, Retro 90s Style, Portable, Wired Plug

I bought these earphones for working out only, so most of this review is based on my experience with them working out. Naturally i understand there are some really great earphones on the market that can make you think that your in the same room at the musician. Those earphones are not going to be the ones that your going to work out with. There are some people out there that pay a hundred dollars for earphones just to work out in! But why when you can spend less then 15$ on these nice little Koss earphones. For most people who dont have money to burn i recommend these little guys. Like i said they are less than 15$ and they have very impressive sound quality for such a good less expensive earphone. They are also comfortable as well with a nice semi soft rubber sleeve on the plastic loop that goes around the top of you ear. The earphones do a really good job of staying right were you put them no matter what you do as well. So comfort, sound quality, and price are the main focal point of these earphones. But there are some draw backs that are not deal breakers in any way but must be mentioned. First the earpads are your typical foam cushions. Those do get sweaty especially if you sweat alot. Ive seen some out in the market that are a type of really soft rubber that helps with the sweat but i dont know how weird that would feel having wet rubber on your ears. At the same time i know how wet foam feels on the ears and it feels a little wierd too. I guess i would rather have the foam though because it adds the comfort that is important to me and koss makes 3 packs of foam ear replacements for only about 3$ so its no big deal. I just worry that one day the sweat may ruin one of the earphones, but thats why 15$ is a better investment in earphones when you work out. Next, this is me kind of nit picking but sony has a 40$ pair of new earphones for working out that has what they call an extension for the earphones. In other words if you have you mp3 player in an armband and you put these earphones on...you can disconnect the extension which is in the middle of the cord connected to the earphones and you'll have another 3.5mm plug there that can go into your armband. While at the same time the cord is very short and perfect for working out with an armband. If these Koss had that i would never buy another pair for working out. But they do not and i have to wrap the cord about the mp3 player. If your really big on looks then i dont know how you will like these koss. They are not really stream line so when you put them on your ears they do come out a little. Looks like the top of a hamburger bun on the side of your ear just not as big. Dont get me wrong they are light so you wont feel them and really who is going to care what they look like when they are covered in sweat. One last thing...Koss offers a lifetime warranty on these little babies but i think that is standard on all there equipment. Just a little perk i wanted to add. So overall i really like these earphones after using now for about three weeks. So dont be worried about getting these, they will be great for everyday casual use and working out if that is what your looking for. But if you feel that you need the Best looking, sounding, smallest, and most expensive earphones on the market to work out in...then your not hitting the gym hard enough cupcake. Go back to your starbucks and enjoy!

Great headphones for money. I bought these based on a friends recommendation, he said they're similar to the Koss porta pros, but they dont have a headband, and he's right. Things i like: -appropriately detailed sound quality for listening to music (best results with cd or other lossless files) -not so detailed or sharp that listening becomes fatiguing -sound stage is excellent and wide, stereo separation is excellent and feels extreme sometimes, it really feels like you're surrounded by whatever music you play, -present but not overwhelming or "boomy" bass -amazing value at $15 -sound exactly like the porta pros, a great headphone that costs about 3 times as much as this. things i dont like: -the around ear parts dont keep the drivers on your head tight, it feels like the sound doesn't "seal", i know that's the name of the game with semi-open back headphones, but sometimes it doesn't feel like the music is centered in your ears -the cord feels cheap, and i know out of experience that it will break, probably within a year or so -the sound leakage is bad when the volume is loud, but that's just how semi-open back headphones are -somewhat high impedance (at 60 ohm) for being designed as portable headphones (usually most modern portable headphones are at 32 ohm), your phones can drive it fine, but when i plugged them into my computer with headphone amp, it really came alive and got to be really loud. -these headphones may not be good for glasses users, as it sits where glasses rest on your ears, i dont wear glasses, so this isn't a downside for me personally, just something i thought should be said other things (and opinions that i feel aren't critical to the review of the product): -not suitable for airline travel, too much sound would leak in. -you can in fact attach these to the porta pro band -the headphones feel like they aren't on your head, they are so lightweight, im wearing them as i write this and its kinda strange, i dont know if i like it or not. -i tested these with a variety of music genres before i decided to write this review, to me they sound best with synthpop, IDM, 80's and 90's hip hop, jazz and its various sub genres, ambient, acid house, prog rock, big beat/house, old school industrual/ebm, for some reason Michael Jackson and Primus sounds stunning on these headphones. that being said newer hip hop, and other very bass heavy music doesn't come across very well on these headphones (definitely not basshead headphones), as well as modern rock/metal the distorted guitar details kinda get lost in these headphones. -these headphones are revealing enough for you to notice things like clipping and side chain compression in your music, as well as lo fi sources/samples. if you listen exclusively to low quality mp3s, you will notice mpeg compression and noise artifacts after a long enough period. -feed these headphones some high quality, well mastered and produced music, and enough voltage to hit the sweet spot of volume, and it will blow you away. -seriously buy these things if you've made it this far in my review, you wont regret it, its a crazy good value, i doubt you (yes, you, random amazon.com customer) can't afford the $15 dollar buy in.

Lives up to the hype. Didn't disappoint. I always, ALWAYS loved this specific headphone design. It solves the space issue of traditional headphones while not being disgusting, ear-ache inducing, and difficult to get a good fit like earbuds are. I wish it was a lot more popular so we got more variety of options and maybe some good wireless options instead the only existing wireless ones being drop-shipped garbage... and the wireless option koss also offers which is apparently really bad for some reason despite these being fantastic. Just need more ear clip headphones in my life. Build quality is a bit sketch tho. But that's what you get for good audio at a cheap price. You're more or less buying great audio drivers in as cheap a shell as they could manage to crank the costs down. Maybe look up some DIY crafty options to keep the cable from disintegrating at the point it connects to the headphones. I did that to mine before even trying it stock cus I heard ahead of time the cable's connection isn't the most durable thing.

It is getting harder and harder to find earclip headphones. I had gone to Radio Shack, Best Buy and other electronics stores, only to be met with rows upon rows of earbuds like what comes with iPods, the "DJ style" headphone that is huge and colorful, and the $300 earphones by some music producer that is not my concern. I can't stand having the earbuds INSIDE my ear, and if I do find one that doesn't start hurting in 30 minutes, they tend to fall out with any introduction of moisture or sweat. Thankfully, Amazon (best site to spend all my money!) has a good choice of this style of earphones, and for a great price. I ordered two different sets and brands because the price was so low, and if I couldn't find them in the future, I might as well get two now. It took a few days to come - most likely because of the different vendors - and they have arrived. The earphones come with all sorts of literature which makes it a formal purchase! The phones are quite large, and "spacey"-looking, with the silver color, chrome arm, and large vents. But that might be because they sound so good. Deep bass, rich highs. The phone itself is on a rotating pivot which is good for large ears, but for smaller ears like mine, tends to be a little loose, hence my 4-star rating. But in all, for the price and sound, these are highly recommended. Get them now before they might not be available anymore! That is, unless Apple picks up the design, in which case everyone in the world will be wearing them :) I also bought a set of the Phillips earclips, which I will place a review for on, respectively. UPDATE: 4 years after I bought my KSC75's, I finally lost a clip for one side. They come off occasionally, but are easy to put back on. Now I have one with a paperclip to keep it on my ear. Because these are the best headphones ever. They still sound great, and in the past 4 years, I have lost them in the woods, dropped them in the pool, and stepped on them multiple times. Like I said, if you can retrieve the clip, these guys will be your best friends. 2ND UPDATE: Even though these are still my favorite earphones to work and workout with, I've noticed that, because of the heft of the magnets inside, the wires going into the body of the earphone tend to come loose and thus lose sound. I work in freight, so they get banged around a lot and can't ask for more, but just to let you know that if you are rough on them, the first thing to go is the connection from wire to speaker. Still the best, though! 3RD UPDATE: Get a bit of silicone and put a dab on the area where the headphone cord goes into the body of the headphone - on both sides - as this will add strength to the pull from the outside world.

I love these! I just got them today but I was so desperate to get rid of the lousy JVC HARX300s that I put them on right out of the box. for 12 dollars and change these are right next to my Big headphones. this pair of tiny headphones has it all. They look kind of cheapy but they sound expensive. The clip is comfortable on my ear, and they feel secure. The cord is short but you don't want a long cord dangling around to trip over if you're moving around a lot. If the length of the cord is a problem get a cord extender. The bass is present but not overly so, the mids can be heard, and the highs are chrystal. In fact everything is clean and clear. It's not quite as good at separation as my big phones but it is absolutely fantastic for these especially at this price. I spent a whole week researching clipons before I ordered these. For those who want even better sound there are some easy peasy mods you can try on these. Do a search on YouTube or Google. Love, love, love these. I'm busily burning them in. I've been listening to music on my Amazon Prime music, and watching videos:) I am so happy, happy, happy. I want to do a little victory jig. LOL, you just don't understand how horrible those other headphones were. As soon as I saw the Amazon box at my front door, I brought it in and unhooked those JVC phones and did a slam dunked them into the trash can. :P These bad boys are light as a feather, the clip is comfortable with no pinching, and you can literally forget you're wearing them. They are NOT very good at isolation however, but if you wear them out jogging or some other activity you don't want that anyway, it's important to be aware of your surroundings for safety reasons. I can't say if you can hear very much noise going out, but my daughter was in the room with me and we were able to carry on a conversation As Long As The Music Was Turned Down. Oh and before I forget, the cord is fairly thin, not impossibly so, but you don't want to jerk or or pull on it really hard. It should stand up to normal use, but it won't take a lot of abuse.. Oh earpads! The earpads are nice and comfy, some kind of foam, very soft on the ears. I've had these phones on now for ohhhh 4 hrs or so. My ears are not sore,Where they rest on my ear, they're not hot and sweaty. The clips haven't rubbed a sore spot anywhere, over the top of my ear or behind the ear. I think I've covered everything. All around these are the little phones that could, and they do They are money well spent. I may just buy another couple of pairs just in case the company gets the crazy idea to stop making them:) I can't really ding these for anything not even the thin cord, because they are built for people on the go, everything light and compact. Great sound but inexpensive enough that you won't cry if you lose them. Heck everyone probably spent more on sunglasses than these. They fit securely without pain. So yeah, five stars from me. These are great inexpensive throw away headphones, as I have purchased 4 pairs of these in almost 20 years. The sound is good. They do get tangled easily. They did make my ears warm after extended wear. If you have a newer iPhone, you will need a USB-C adapter. The main issue I have had is one of the headphones stop working after a couple years. It's frustrating when you are on vacation and it's the only way to listen audio on your PC as your wireless buds don't connect.

Pros: Inexpensive, fantastic soundstage/imaging, incredible instrument separation, very detailed, textured bass, crisp highs, energetic and engaging sound Cons: Clips aren't the most comfortable, aren't sexy looking Taking price into account above all else, these are the best headphones I have ever owned. Obviously my HD650s and DT880s sound better, but they also cost 15-25x as much. I've probably put ~150 hours on them. I did do the kramer mod (involves drilling a few holes in the driver cover to allow more sound through) but they sound great even without the mod. I also bought a Parts-Express headphone from Amazon, took the garbage drivers off them and snapped the Koss drivers on. I find them much more comfortable this way. As a plus you can bend the headband however you like to suit your comfort level. Some people do the "quarter mod" where you put a quarter over the earpads (after taking them off the drivers) and cut out a circle to allow more sound through as well. I chose not to do this because I love their sound with the kramer and headband mod. I listen mainly to electronic music, so people who listen to more jazz or rock might not like these as much as I do. But for trance, dance, dubstep, these are simply amazing. My DT880s show me new things in my music that I've never heard before. It's one of the things I love most about them. Now this isn't me blowing smoke... but there have been times I heard something on the Koss that I've never heard before. This includes faint vocal tracks in the background, synths, and little things here and there. These are my work headphones, because they allow me to hear people talking and not completely isolate me from my environment. Some people say they leak too much sound to use in public, but I use them in my cube and no one has ever complained about hearing my music. I don't crank them up but I certainly don't listen quietly. I use them straight from my phone (Nexus 4) and they sound great. I brought my Fiio E17 to work once to try them amped and I just felt like they lost some of their magic. Don't ask me why, or how, I don't know. All I know is that they didn't have as much sparkle, which is something I love about them. I'm no expert in describing audio, but I'll do my best. They have a great attack and decay on the notes, which to me translates to good PRaT (pace, rhythm and timing). The space between notes is very discernible and they just get me groovin'! The imaging is fantastic as well. I can clearly hear music going from side to side, and even in front of and behind me to a degree. The bass is punchy and extended. It also has a great texture to it. It's not muddy or bloated at all. They're also very airy and have a nice open sound to them. The treble is sparkly but unfatiguing (in my opinion). Some people find them a bit too treble-forward, but I have experienced almost no sibilance from them. Mids and vocals are good, nothing amazing but they're not recessed. Female vocals are quite nice on them, with male vocals almost as good. I honestly think these are worth $75. I might be slightly more critical of them at that price, but these are so cheap, I have literally nothing to complain about. I don't plan on recabling them because I love them just the way they are. I bought 3 pairs over the holidays to give to friends. I only ended up giving away 1 pair. These are just... so good. I'm more satisfied with these than I am with my HD650s. What Koss has done here is simply magical. I would never have dreamed something so good would be so cheap. I honestly could not love these more. They are my favorite headphones out of all that I have ever owned.

This review comes from a 17 year old girl who, like most teens, is VERY rough on her things. I had one pair of these for about six months, give or take. I loved these headphones and was heartbroken to realize that they were starting to cut out. Nothing major, just enough to annoy the hell out of you. One side would be loud, but the other side would go from loud to low to loud. (This still occasionally happens when I watch movies) Well, I thought they were going out, so I tossed them in this box where I keep my old headphones (I never get rid of any of my headphones, just in case). A couple months later, I was going through my headphones and came across my old Koss's. I plugged them in and they worked BEAUTIFULLY. I was able to wear them for probably about six months more until they finally bit the dust. As a birthday present to myself, I bought another pair and I haven't been disappointed. Okay, yes, when I put these on I did realize that they were a little bit more cheaper then my first pair but not so cheap that you'd notice it, certainly not after awhile. I usually got my headphones around $13 bucks, so these went up a little in price but, for the price they're good headphones. For instance, I like to some times jog in the mornings and I always was upset because my headphones would never stay and bounce all over the place whereas these actually stay behind my ears until I take them off. Also, I'm not tone deaf so I can hear bass and everything and am VERY picky about how my headphones sound. These sound wonderful for the price. I listen to anything from classical, country, pop to classical rock and the occasional heavy metal type of songs and these head phones have never let me down. With classical, depending on what you're listening to you DO have to turn them up but not much. My Creative Zen's volume usually stays under six, so that should tell you something since we teenagers love to listen to our music at high volume and deafen ourselves. With these, you can hear everything pretty well. The bass, the piano. Guitar comes out pretty well on these too. I haven't had a problem with these headphones except for one thing - the band that goes around your ears. It detaches from the headphones for, I think, packing purposes or for convenience. Whatever the reason, I find that they do like to come off after awhile which is nothing major, since you can just snap them back on and you're good to go. So, from a teenagers prospective... These are good. I only give them four stars because I think the sound quality COULD be better, but for the price it's good. As for the other reviewers complaints, these haven't happened to me, I don't think. All in all, I love these headphones and I would totally recommend them to any teenager who keeps ruining their headphones. Not exactly inexpensive OR cheap, they're good for the price, especially the sound since most of the expensive stuff doesn't have the sound quality these little things do. PROS: - They stay on your ears when you're jogging. - Good sound quality, at least worthy of the $15 dollar price - wouldn't pay that much, but they're good if you do; just don't expect "OH MY GOD THIS IS AMAZING" sound quality. - Had one pair for a year, didn't go out. Have had this pair for about five to six months, haven't broken and I am VERY rough on my things. - Okay-ish price. - Good for taking with you anywhere, since they can fit in a purse pretty well and they can also fit in a pocket. I slide the over the ear clip part over the top of my jeans when they aren't in use and I happen to be walking/biking and they actually stay and don't flap around. - Durable little things. They've been thrown around a lot and haven't broken. (Haven't stepped on them though, so I can only say they're durable as long as you DON'T step on them) - The ear clip on them can come off if need be. - Even though the wire is very cheap and I'm not so sure about the plug in cord thingy (sorry, don't know what to call it) in which the cord connects into this plug so you can plug it into your mp3, ect. So far, with excessive abuse, it hasn't shorted out or anything (and the cord gets tangled up real bad and it still hasn't shorted out) CONS: - The wire is VERY thin and lightweight, AKA very cheap. - The wire that connects to the plug in doesn't look all together "durable", but it is to a certain degree. - Some times, when I watch movies, I notice the sound fades a little bit in and out. It's kind of annoying, but I just ignore it or unplug the headphones. - The cord, for me, is a little too long and is constantly getting tangled, though it's better then too short and not being able to reach anything. - The ear clips come off a lot, but it's never a big deal because they can pop on and pop off. They haven't come off when I was doing something important before, like running or biking, ect. - Very small, liable to get lost or misplaced, which I do all the time. I hope this review helps. Les écouteurs n'isolent pas bien du bruit lorsque l'on écoute de la musique notamment, et ne tiennent pas fermement sur l'oreille. A choisir, autant plutôt investir dans un bon casque audio.

Even after having owned multiple hundred dollars worth of headphones I can honestly say that KSC75 is the most fun pair of earphones I've ever owned. I bought them with a very clear usecase in mind - to use them with a Quest 2 VR headset as its internal speakers leave a lot to be desired, but I ended up spending a lot of time using these for much more than just VR. They sound more fun than IEMs when paired with a portable player, they sound more fun than Audio-Technica cans when paired with the computer, they're better than anything else I've tried for work calls (provided that you have a separate microphone). They also might be the best headphones for VR, I am having a hell of a pleasant time playing Beat Saber now that I have these. Honestly, they're so cheap that I don't see a reason to not just buy them, and hear what I'm talking about firsthand.

For the price you can’t beat it. Very comfortable and the sound quality is great. They don’t fall off, as they hook around your ears. I don’t notice them on as to the insert ones .. example “iPods”
