Fun and easy, but maybe not for cats (and definitely not outdoors)
I wanted to see if my cats and foster kittens might be interested in a flying toy. I wanted something relatively cheap so if it got pounced on I wouldn't upset at the cost. The first one I got was obviously used and broken, Amazon replaced it, and the second was in perfect shape. The good news is there's little risk of it getting pounced on. The cats are interested in this, but only at a distance. When it flies close to them they scramble where I was expecting them to get a case of the wiggle butts. I can see where some people damage these on the first flight. Having experience with RC airplanes and big drones I skipped reading the owners' manual (big mistake). I hit the takeoff button and it zipped up rather quickly, hit a cabinet and then went crazy fighting artificially induced pitch sticking itself to the cabinet door. If you're not ready for it the way it zips up will absolutely startle and hit something if you're not in a clear space. I also accidentally discovered the relative direction mode (in this mode which way the stick makes it go is relative to you, so that if you rotate with the left stick until the drone is facing the opposite way, pushing the right stick to the right will still make the drone go to your right right instead of left). This was a little confusing for me having prior RC experience. Again, reading the manual would have been smart on my part. Lastly is a tip about the reviews talking about it just drifting away outdoors. The controller has an IR panel on the front (facing away from the pilot). For those that don't know, IR is light based. I'm pretty sure this is how the drone knows which way it is facing for relative direction mode, but it's quite likely it's used for other purposes, including actual flight control instead of RF. This means that when it's in direct sunlight, the IR receiver on the drone itself will get "jammed" by the sunlight and will be unable to receive input from the controller. This is definitely an indoor only drone, but at a minimum if you're going to do it outdoors, do it at night and keep it really close to you. Without walls for the IR light to reflect off of, the range will be much lower outdoors, so you risk it flying away at night too. It wouldn't be a fair review if I didn't also list one big con. It comes with blue & black fans, which would be great, however the fans aren't actually color coded. The fans spin in different directions depending on their location on the drone. Normally I would expect them to be color coded along the lines of "black = clockwise blue = counterclockwise", however this isn't the case. If you break a blade, you will need to carefully look at the fan blades to ensure the broken ones you are replacing match the new ones. Putting a clockwise in a counterclockwise or vice versa the drone will not be flyable and possibly fly around erratically hitting people or objects in the room (causing further damage). OTOH if you're feeling like mixing it up you could swap a blue for a black or such for visual effect. Overall it's a good little drone. Read the instructions, know how to handle it before you're first flight, don't run into things and I would imagine this will last quite a while UPDATE: Been flying it around my house for a few weeks now. People who complain about it breaking are misusing it IMO. I've had a couple of small crashes. It seems fairly durable, no damage from falls from five feet up onto carpet, or accidentally tapping it into a wall. To break it, you would need to go full speed into a wall, which would probably break it. Kids being rough treating it like an RC car will break it. Drones aren't RC cars and are more fragile.

Well worth the (low) cost
I love drones. I've owned several DJI drones ($$). I bought this to entertain my grandson (he's too young to fly it (3), but I thought he'd enjoy watching me fly it). For the price, this drone is amazing. It's very easy to fly (short learning curve), quite stable (indoors), and fun to fly. The battery life is short, but it ships with THREE batteries. This is a nice bonus. Would definitely recommend this drone for indoor use.

Pretty amazing for such a tiny drone!
I bought this drone for a 9 year old girl. In short order she figured out how to fly it. The controls are fairly precise, but they take some practice. Fun to fly in the house. She only landed on the butter once. My only real concern is with the battery connectors. They are very small and when they are inserted into the drone or into the charger, they are very hard to remove and the kids have broken off the wires. It is virtually impossible to fix the battery when this happens. A small design change would fix it... or simply provide a small tool with every drone to help with battery extraction. Our partial solution has been to only insert the connector just far enough to make contact and no further. Or we use a pair of thin scissors and use the tip to grip the connector to pull it out of of the socket. The headless flight mode is a good feature for beginners. It's not the cheapest mini drone, but with the two battery charge adapter and three included batteries, and extra props.. it's a fair price.

Holy Stone HS210 nano quadcopter
Holy Stone HS210 nano quadcopter is amazing. Comes with 3 external batteries, so longer flight times with less wait for charging. It has 3 speeds, fast-faster and warp speed ; ). It is very quiet in flight. It is also a very nimble smooth flyer. Does flips etc. and has one key takeoff/landing. Also hovers nicely with minimal to no drifting. Has 2 LED lights… red/green front/back to help with orientation. Definitely an indoor flyer as it is tiny and weighs next to nothing. Reminds me of the old AIR HOGS DR1 Race Drone from years ago… but better! Highly recommend as a great boredom buster.

Durable, Beginner-Friendly Drone That Delivers on Fun
After going through multiple drones from local stores that broke within hours, I decided to try this one based on the great reviews—and I’m glad I did. It’s been a few weeks, and this little drone is still going strong despite regular indoor use. My son, who’s actually younger than the recommended age, is able to fly it with ease. That speaks volumes about how intuitive and beginner-friendly it is. We fly it together often, and it’s become a favorite activity in our household. We haven’t tested it outdoors yet, as we live in a windy area, and given its small size, I doubt it would hold up well in strong wind. Indoors, however, it performs reliably with stable controls and no noticeable loss of connection. The build quality is solid—much more durable than others we’ve tried. It’s handled a few bumps and crashes without any damage, which is impressive for a drone in this price range. Overall, this drone has exceeded my expectations. It’s a great choice for beginners or younger users (with supervision), and it brings a lot of fun without the frustration of flimsy construction or complicated controls.

Fun for a week or two, then they BREAK
These drones are fun, however they definitely have technical issues… I have 3 kids (boy age 8, boy age 6?and girl age 2.5. For Christmas of 2026 my two boys each got one of these drones and they lasted about 2 weeks before they just quit working. It was a gift from grandma. We had so much fun with them that I spent $120 on 3 drones for each of my kids ($39.99a piece). (My daughter seen how much fun my two sons had that she requested one too) Dad would fly her pink drone for her. Same thing, after 2 weeks of use only ONE out of THREE drones work. Ridiculous. My eldest son who had the blue drone, said “mom, this drone smells bad and is smoking” And he was right. After inspecting his drone, one propeller would just start spinning without any controls being touched on the actual remote. The pink drone just quit flying, completely. It would no longer take off even after the remote would beep and connect to the drone. The red drone is the only one that currently works…. After 5 drones from this company, only 1 is in working condition. The only plus to this situation is that we have 15 batteries to the one drone that actually still works. My kids do know how to fly these as they do many flips and tricks with the drones. They didn’t mistreat these drones, they are just hit or miss with quality.

Fails to meet expectations, and culd be a great product if they dealt with its glaring faults.
This review is for "Holy Stone HS210 Mini Drone RC Nano Quadcopter Best Drone for Kids and Beginners..." First and foremost, it is an indoors only drone. Outside, it can't fly against even the gentlest of breezes, and even indoors, it gets pushed around by its own air stream as it gets close to objects. As such, gentle landing is impossible. Flying an inch or so above ground is also problematic since it is constantly trying to adjust to compensate for being buffeted by its own air stream. The batteries last about 7 minutes on the default (slowest and least powerful) setting. I like the fact that the blades are shrouded. This is huge help in keeping the blades from getting damaged. I also like the small form factor. It is small enough to fly around in a small room. I carry it around in a small cooler bag, and have already taken it on my travels and flown it in a few hotel rooms. There are also some major flaws: 1. No matter how many times I reset the gyro, it always has a drift. This drifting behavior is not consistent in the same direction all the time. This could be a bad gyro or some fault in the electronics unique to the one I received. 2. There is no tool provided to help remove the battery plug after it is plugged in. And, since there is no on/off switch, you have to plug and unplug every time. My finger nails are not long enough for this. For now, I am using a small flat head screw driver to gently persuade the plug to come out. 3. The controls don't seem to be proportional so it is impossible to get consistent results flying around. 4. There is a "+" mark on circuit board next to the negative side of the plug. It caused some confusion before I figured it out the mark next to the plug had nothing to do with how the battery is supposed to be plugged in. I put a dab of acrylic red paint on the correct, plus side, of the plug on the circuit board so I can orient the plug without using magnifying glasses. 5. The blades are about 1.5mm too short, and don't seem to be properly positioned in the shroud. This is just poor design and manufacturing IMO, to say nothing of loss of blade efficiency and blade noise that is result of huge gap between blade tip and shroud.

It’s very easy to control! With the press of a button, it takes off and lands automatically.
This is the best drone we have ever purchased (and we’ve owned many). My kids are absolutely thrilled with it! It’s very easy to control — even my four-year-old son was able to fly it. This drone has probably survived hundreds of crashes into walls and the floor, yet this little guy still takes off and keeps making my kids happy. The quality is excellent, and I really appreciate that extra batteries are included in the package. I saved it on Amazon because I plan to buy another one if ours ever breaks. I highly recommend this product! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Best Beginner Drone for 5 year old
Excellent beginner drone for my 5 year old. It's hardy and easy to use, smaller than anticipated but doesn't feel cheap. Good buy

Easy to fly - lots of fun!
It is only a little drone, which seems small at first but perfect for zipping around inside. The stand out feature is that it is so easy to fly. It hovers on its own and has a slow mode. I fly it and my 4 year old chases and has a go but too advanced for him to fly on his own. But it is remarkably robust for a little toy. We have had a ton of crashes and it is totally fine, hasn't missed a beat. Comes with 3 batteries and some spares so plenty of flying time. I generally get enough play time out of one battery. Oh I mean for my son.

Be careful with using the rechargeable batteries
The drone is a lot smaller than expected, but it’s fine. It was easy for my 7 year old son to figure out how to use. There are 3 rechargeable batteries that come in the package. They give about 5 minutes of play time. However, the wires that connect the battery to the drone is very delicate, and within a week, 2 of them had snapped. We only have 1 functioning battery left. I contacted the seller, and they’re unable to send a replacement battery. I’m not sure why other buyers said that the Holy Stone customer service was top notch, because even though they did respond very quickly, they couldn’t help me as I had purchased from Amazon and not from them. I’m unable to purchase any other spares which is unfortunate, and it’s not easy to purchase rechargeable batteries to be sent overseas to Singapore.
