Does it turn itself off when the water from the return line is hot?

In Auto mode, the unit will run only when it 'believes' you will need hot water based on your usage over the last two weeks, so most of the time the pump is not running. In 100% mode, the pump runs at all times. In temperature mode the pump will turn off when the water in the re circulation line is still hot, then turn on to circulate hot water as the return line cools.

Is this a replacement for the discontinued #96433902?

The unit that I replaced was #97525922 UP10-16 BU/ATLC.. The contection flanges matched, which made the swap easy. I didn't have to change any plumbing.

What is the dimension between the two pipe connections? the cut sheet for up 10-16 a pm bu/lc shows 4.33 inches. the photo here looks much longer.

I'm unsure as to what picture you're looking at. Recently had a new water heater installed. The configuration of pipes are 2 in 10" increments to the downspout of the water heater with one about 4" to the pump. Hope that helps. Whoever installs it would know what you need.

Can you use this pump without a dedicated return line if the Grundfos under-sink valves are purchased separately?
