Beautiful watch and that sweep second hand...
What a great watch for any collector! I have many watches in my collection, but this one has risen to the top of my list. My automatic watches are great, but I now prefer a quartz powered watch for ease of use. The sweep second hand is "entertaining" to watch and smoother than any of my other watches. Plus, the fact this watch is so accurate...+ / - 10 seconds a year. The only negative comment (and one shared by others) is the leather band is hard and uncomfortable and will be changed soon. If you're on the fence about this quartz movement...don't be! I'll be buying another one of these for my collection!

A great watch at an affordable price!
This watch punch above it's class. Nice looking dail and the precisionist movement is mesmerizing to look at. Classy look, I wear it almost daily and it could be only a dress wear but for some reason it goes well with everyday clothes. I changed the band but went back to the leather one because I love the look it has. Great watch at a great price from Bulova.

What’s not to like?
I am very impressed with this watch, particularly at this price point. It looks and feels far more expensive than it is, and its accuracy (it has not lost or gained one second in the week I have been testing it) is amazing. The smooth movement of the sweep second hand is quite impressive. Some reviewers have criticized the leather band, which I think looks fine. It is very stiff, however, but this will pass with use. Overall, this beautiful piece appears to be a world class bargain.

An affordable, beautiful dress watch with a smooth-sweeping second hand
Let me be clear: pictures do not do this watch justice. It really is a stunning timepiece that stands out among a sea of dress watches which are either extremely conservative and dull or garish and tacky. In photographs, the stainless steel case of the watch appears dull and uninspired. In person, this watch's combination of polished and brushed stainless steel is very attractive and shines brightly. In the stock photos on Amazon, the wave detail on the face of the watch appears very boring. In person, one can truly see the level of detail that that went into the design of the dial - not only the actual lines and their contours, but the exquisite gray color which adds a lot of classy pizzazz to an otherwise conservative watch face. It's a very subtle addition to the design of the watch, but it pulls the look of the timepiece together perfectly. The hour markers are chrome accented which creates a nice contrast with the steely dial. I also think that pictures make the watch seem a lot more squat or round than it really is. To make a long story short, you have to see this watch in person to really appreciate how nice-looking it is. The hands and the hour markers have lume on them. The lume is actually pretty bright but doesn't last long at all. I never expect dress watches to have decent lume, so I wasn't bothered by this shortcoming. The size is a tad larger than what I prefer in a dress watch, but it's much more elegant and reasonably sized than other affordable watches and Bulova Precisionists. Due to the high-frequency quartz movement, the second hand sweeps as smooth as butter, and more smoothly than any ETA movement I've seen. . I love automatic watches and rarely buy quartz, but this watch seemed to give me the best of both worlds: the ease and accuracy of quartz with the sweeping second hand of an automatic. Bulova claims this movement to be accurate to 10 seconds a year, and after several weeks of wearing this watch, I've not noticed any loss or gain of time. Bottom line: this is a really great watch. It doesn't have a sapphire crystal or a Swiss automatic movement, but it does have an exquisite appearance, an accurate movement, and a sweeping second hand. At this price, it can't be beat.

The Precisionist Movement Is Top Tier
This watch checks all but one box, and it can easily be remedied with an aftermarket solution. I'll get back to that shortcoming shortly, because I don't want to take away from the positives. First, this watch was NOT a previously handled watch that was sold as "new", by Amazon, which has happened to me more often than I'd like. The movement alone is what makes this watch attractive, at least for me, and I assume many others like myself. The clean sweeping motion of the seconds hand, thanks to the precision quarts movement, is captivating and downright mesmerizing. As someone who owns mechanical watches, they can't compete with the 16 beats a second, clean sweeping, seconds hand. This we be one of my daily worn watches for sure, BUT you'll probably want to replace your watchband for an aftermarket solution. I've paired mine with a Barton strap, as it is a quality strap at a decent price, AND is way more comfortable than the cheap feeling "leather strap" paired to this watch. The factory watch strap feels cheap and as if it didn't belong on this otherwise premium Bulova watch. Overall, I think anyone who purchases this watch will be happy, but be prepared to swap out your straps as soon as you get the watch and swapping your CR2016 watch batteries every two or so years thanks to that quarts movement.

Very nice looking watch, sweeping seconds, decent accuracy
Very beautiful watch. It doesn't keep as accurate time as some of the marketing materials (and people online) say.. it's ok-ish for a quartz. The real star of the show is the sweeping seconds hand. It is great to look at. Poor water resistance, but it's not that kind of watch. Meh leather strap, I bought a mesh bracelet, looks stunning. Only major downside is, I don't think they make this movement any more, so when it runs out, you might be SOL... won't take off star for that though.

Great
The Bulova Precisionist lives up to its reputation for extremely smooth and accurate timekeeping with a quartz movement that vibrates at a higher frequency than standard quartz, giving the second hand a fluid sweep that looks almost mechanical while keeping time more precisely than most watches in its class. The build quality feels substantial: solid case, clear crystal, and a dial with good legibility under varied lighting, and features like date windows or chronograph functions are well integrated without clutter. It wears comfortably and projects a sense of refinement without being overstated, and overall it delivers a compelling mix of precision, reliability, and everyday durability that makes it feel worth its price for anyone who values accuracy and distinctive motion in a quartz watch.

Beautiful Bulova Watch For a Great Price
Just received my watch yesterday and can I tell you, it was much anticipated. Beautiful styling, Great price, Precisionist quartz movement sweeps effortlessly, and the intricate swirl pattern on the face of the watch is subtle but adds that flare as you bring the watch up close to inspect it. One small think you will notice is that there is no Bulova tuning fork logo on the face of the watch ( this is a new refinement to their 2013/2014 watches) Im not sure if this will increase the value of say an older style watch with the tuning fork logo in the future, but it might be something to keep in mind. The designers may have removed the tuning fork from the face, although it is still on the crown of the watch. Some issues that others were concerned about was the diameter of the watch, I found that the watch sits well on my wrist and after reading some of the reviews of the watch being too big I was a bit skeptical on buying (I myself having smaller wrists). I found that the watch case does protrude out maybe a little further than some similar watches with the same size face, but its nothing to steer you away from this beautiful watch. I would have to say it fits me perfectly. Another issue is the leather strap. This is one thing that I feel was really over looked. Granted just about every (newer) Bulova with a leather strap on the market today has this same tacky, thin, cheap feeling strap. Bulova has been around a long time and it is surprising to me that they would throw a band like this on their watches, but I mean its better to have a cheaper (replaceable) band then cheap internals. I would personally invest in a new strap for this watch and plan on doing the same for mine. 20-50 bucks can get you a great strap that will fit this styling perfectly. There are tons of options out there, don't be afraid to look. All in all, This is an exquisite Bulova watch for a third the price of some of the watches in the Precisionist series. The only downfall that comes to mind is the strap which again, is easily replaceable. I would recommend this watch to anyone who is looking for a precise movement with the beauty of a sweeping second hand. Bulova is a timeless name and that this would be an excellent addition to anyones collection.
