This will work on the right side. The lock cylinder is part of the door handle and will be reused.

What is the warranty on this product?

I did not consider the warranty when purchasing the actuator. It has worked flawlessly since February 2022. I also reviewed the original order and found this: Please contact the seller directly for warranty information for this product. You may also be able to find warranty information on the manufacturer’s website. So that's a bit bogus not to at least give some warranty info. I tinker with this car since it's a 2001 ... and have kept it basically brand new with a ton of aftermarket parts. Have had good success with Amazon parts this far !!!

Did anyones remote stop working after the install?

Remote stop working to lock/unlock just that door or all functions? You may need to go into the control module through the OBD port using VAGCOM or OBDeleven and have the system relearn the new module. The reason I had to replace mine was because it quite communicating and just the one door wouldn't lock/unlock. It's very common issue on VWs
