There is a lot of interest in today's culture about the idea of Persona and the psychological mapping of one's inner world. In fact, the interest is so strong that the superstar Korean Pop band, BTS, has taken Dr. Murray Stein's concepts and woven them into the title and lyrics of their latest album, Map of the Soul: Persona . What is our persona and how does it affect our life's journey? What masks do we wear as we engage those around us? Our persona is ultimately how we relate to the world. Combined with our ego, shadow, anima and other intra-psychic elements it creates an internal map of the soul . T.S. Eliot, one of the most famous English poets of the 20 th Century, wrote that every cat has three names: the name that everybody knows, the name that only the cat's intimate friends and family know, and the name that only the cat knows. As humans, we also have three names: the name that everybody knows, which is the public persona; the name of that only your close friends and family know, which is your private persona; and the name that only you know, which refers to your deepest self. Many people know the first name, and some people know the second. Do you know your secret name, your individual, singular, unique name? This is a name that was given to you before you were named by your family and by your society. This name is the one that you should never lose or forget. Do you know it? Murray Stein, Ph.D. is a Training and Supervising Analyst at the International School of Analytical Psychology Zurich (ISAP-ZURICH). Review: Come prepared - If you are not familiar with the work of Carl Jung, I strongly suggest at least watching a few introductory videos on him to familiarize yourself with his concepts. When it comes to a complete psychology of the human mind, you really can't go deeper than Jung. So come prepared, otherwise the depth of what this book is mapping out will go right over your head. For someone familiar with the concepts and interested in seeing a full map of the Jungian psyche, a song by song Jungian analysis of the BTS album and short but deep explanations on things like the Shadow, Anima/Animus, Ego, Self and of course the Persona...this book is phenomenal. Definitely going to be rereading and highlighting concepts out of this little gem for years to come

I love it!!
This is a beautiful, and great book! I really like it that they have a dedication to BTS (a Korean K-pop Band) and they have an explanation of all their songs of the album that was inspired by this book! Very insightful and I had to google this k-pop group to know more about them since the lyrics inspired by this book are amazingly smart and wise.

Great mini introduction to Jungian ideas
This book is a great first introduction to Jungian ideas. It is not, as I had originally thought, a volume focused on the persona only, but the essays are useful as a very first pass through these ideas--especially if you are coming to them from BTS or intrigued by the title. I can only strongly recommend that you follow up with Stein's Map of the Soul: An Introduction, which will give you a much more in-depth exploration of Jung's ideas and many of their implications. You can follow up more deeply with Jung's Two Essays or one of the other short volumes with his writings or those of his students.

10/10 totally worth it!
It arrived in perfect condition! without a single scratch or beat up corners and that made me really happy. Also the cover it's really soft and pretty and the book itself it's so amazing! I ordered because of bts and i was beyond amazed by the content, it even has some pages where they mentioned the meaning of each song of the mots: p album, it made me rethink and realize a lot of things, it's totally worth it. :))

Great intro to Jung and BTS' use of Jungian theories
I originally bought the kindle edition and loved it so much I ended up using these Jungian theories in my film project and bought the book as a prop. That came in handy as a few people on set got curious so they got to flick through it and understand my project a bit better. It's been great for personal development as well! I was seeing a Tactical Analysis therapist for over a year and she mentioned Jungian theories so this is very handy
