At least their hearts are in the right place...
Grace Alley is a caring company. I ordered the "Best Tangle Free Spinning Flagpole" for myself, and another for my Mother. At first I was concerned because the plastic bag was torn open at the bottom. It appeared that I was missing a snap-hook for the lower side. There was a clear ring with a plastic screw in it... but the hole in the ring is cracked and wouldn't hold anything without breaking. There are no instructions with the item. I mean, ZERO instructions. If it had a snap-hook on the bottom like the top, it would be a no-brainer to hook my flag to it. The bag label directed me to the web site for instructions, fine if you have Internet access. Mom didn't. Hers didn't come with a hook either, so I went to the web site. The /flagpole address listed on the bag for instructions did not exist (404). I am less than pleased at this point. So I fired off an email to the contact listed on the web page. Two days later I got a response from a Chaz Key, including his direct phone number saying they had fixed the web site. He thanked me for my Military service (nice touch) and that was it. Didn't say anything about the cracked ring. The directions on the web site were plain... there IS no snap-hook on the bottom. Instead, you slide the plastic ring down until the flag is taunt, and hook the grommet over the half an inch of PLASTIC screw that extends from the ring. I am Navy engineer, and have no confidence that this arrangement will hold over time. This is unfortunate because the spinning part of the flagpole is both novel and well built. The top ball is painted plastic, not the metal that it appears to be. It was also cross threaded so that it was crooked. It reseated fine but should have been caught before it was released IMO. Maybe these items are actually built in China and labeled by Grace Alley? The extra plastic ring was apparently provided as a spare. Good plan, given the stress on this plastic item... but the spare was broken. Guess I need a spare for my spare. Something tells me I will be needing a spare plastic ring and/or the plastic screw. I expect I will end up re-engineering it... shouldn't have to do that. Perhaps it will last forever... or perhaps Grace Alley will actually read this and send me a new plastic ring and an New American Flag for my troubles and 23 year active Naval service. We will see. I will update this if anything changes. Would I recommend Grace Alley? With a caveat or two. Their hearts seem to be in the right place and they appear to actually be patriotic. But the pole issues, lack of instructions and packaging need to be addressed. For that, I will give them 3 stars instead of the two I started to give them. If they address my concerns and provide the replacement Ring and screw I will update to a higher rating. Update 3/4/15: Got a personal call from Chaz Key. Personable guy, and helpful. I had sent him a followup message that said I still had issues, but would be satisfied if they would just address two of them. #1. The plastic ring and screw depicted in the attached photo. The video shows the flat lower grommet "Hooke" over the plastic screw. Assure me that's the design and that the screw isn't going to break firs Missouri windstorm. He assured me that it was designed that way, and they had never had one break, but if I did let them know and they would fix it. #2. For the life of me I couldn't get the message across to Chaz that the "spare" lower ring and screw (actually not a spare, it is used if you ever want to put a sleeved flag on the pole) was missing the screw and was cracked around the screw hole. He never did acknowledge that I needed a replacement plastic ring. Fascinating. He did, however, tell me he was sending an embroidered, top of the line flag for my troubles. THAT is a nice gesture. So, final result - though the packaging had issues, and I had a missing part - they did address my issues which were (at last) resolved. No company is perfect, but what is important is how they deal with problems. I am happy to report that Grace Alley is a true American company, and stands behind their product 100%. Just a little confusing at first, but they persevered and I am a satisfied customer, and will be back. I recommend that you trust them with your dollars, they produce high quality items and the service is all that a man could ask for.

I ended up reading pretty much every review on all spinning flag pole items ...
I ended up reading pretty much every review on all spinning flag pole items available on Amazon. Let me just save you the time, indecisiveness, and confusion that I wasted and say...just get this pole. :-b It seemed like each item had its flaws, and it was driving me batty trying to decide on "the perfect one". I came to the conclusion that they're all mostly the same, just different brands/manufacturers. If you're looking for a spinning flag pole that functions as it claims, looks nice, doesn't rust, and is as sturdy as you can get in a metal wall flag pole, this is the right choice. There's only so much you can protect an outside flag pole from. There isn't one that's going to be 100% indestructible by the climate, so don't end up like me and frustrate yourself trying to find one that is. ;) My last pole (and bracket) was one of those "flag kits" you can get at the popular, local hardware store... and it lasted maybe 24 hours on a windy day. So, I have that to compare to, and this flag pole is faaaaar sturdier, thicker, and nicer. And sure, it may cost more than some "full kits", but most quality items do cost more, right? :) The pole was packaged very nicely and neatly, and arrived as scheduled. It's very simple to put together. There are clips for your flag - and I was worried it would make noise and bother my neighbors and I'd have to replace them with something softer, but it's really not audible to me at all. Haven't had a storm in the area since this flag pole was put up, so I'll update this review after one of our "fun" storms. :) If you're looking for a high quality and tough bracket for this pole (it doesn't come with a bracket), this is what I got - and am very pleased with it so far. Mine was installed on a brick/stone exterior, and yes it takes time and effort to drill the holes for it when you're doing it on brick, but it seems like this bracket should stay put through a lot of nasty weather. I might be able to swing off of it, it's so sturdy. ;) We got special screws for it though (TapCon), and didn't use what it came with, since we had to drill through brick. The TapCon screws allow you to not have to use plastic anchors when you're needing something solid for brick/stone/concrete. https://www.amazon.com/Weather-Resistant-Displays-Aluminum-Flags/dp/B00KMUYWLQ/ref=sr_1_4?s=lawn-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1500482311&sr=1-4&keywords=Heavy+Duty+Flag+Holder Edited to add: We had a storm last night with wind gusts between 40-60mph - and the flag pole stood up to it all like a champ!

Fixing Broken Clip
This is an excellent flag pole for keeping the flag it displays from getting tangled. It does this by having the flag mounted on a pole that is free to fully rotate. It is a pole that rotates on a fixed pole that is inside it. The problem I ran into with this flag pole is the clips used to attach the flag to the pole are made of plastic and one of them broke after a few years. The flag pole worked very well up to that point, but will not hold a flag until that clip is fixed, or the whole flag pole is replaced. I came up with a simple and very inexpensive solution to this problem. What I did was create a new clip that could be attached to the pole. This was done with a small loop of stainless-steel cable and a hose clamp. The hose clamp was positioned close to where the broken clip was located, the loop of stainless-steel cable was placed under the hose clamp with a small portion of the cable extending beyond the edge of the clamp to provide something to hook on to. Then the hose clamp was tightened. See the attached photos. Since the other clip on the pole that holds the flag was also made of plastic, it was also replaced with the same type of clip. There is no way either of the two new clips will ever break. The stainless-steel cable is rated at a maximum pull strength of over 400 pounds. This is a permanent solution to the problem. What is also nice about this solution is the hooks on the flag can be attached to the new clips and the tension to the flag can be adjusted by moving the new clips before they are tightened down. This is much better than working with clips that are in a fixed position and require the hooks be installed on the flag or to the clips while tension is being applied to the flag. This is difficult to do. If you have a clip break, I am confident you will be very happy with this solution. All the Best, Rich

I've had the flagpole about 2 weeks and it works great. We get a lot of wind and the flag never wraps around the flagpole.

The Zoe Report FASHION BEAUTY LIVING ENTERTAINMENT WEDDINGS BOX OF STYLE How To Find A Bra That Actually Fits by Kristi Mikesky April 9, 2016 Why is it that bras—one of the most necessary components of a female wardrobe—feel impossible to get right? Despite their ubiquity in underwear drawers across the globe, over half of women are in the wrong size. Not only does it look and feel better when you have the proper fit, it also has practical implications (ie. no back pain and, according to Oprah, age-reversing abilities). We talked to experts to get to the bottom of the issue, and how to make sure that next time you purchase lingerie, you're getting the perfect fit. Journelle-bra-on-model-lace Photo: Courtesy of Journelle The Cause Of Size Confusion If you're of average build, you've probably been told at some point in your life you're a 34B. Allison Beale, the Marketing & Brand Director at Journelle, notes that the near-universal belief that every woman fits this size is a major contributor "You'd think it's just a math equation of measurements but it's not." Marissa Vosper and Lauren Schwab, co-founders of Negative Underwear, concur—although 34B might be fit-model measurement of record in lingerie (similar to what a 27 is in denim), there is no industry standard for bra fit, leading to small but impactful disparities. "You'd think it's just a math equation of measurements but it's not—every brand has their own version of a 34B," Vosper and Schwab note. This rubric then of course affects the measurements of other sizes in the same line. "Sizing is proprietary to the brand, but also depends on fabrication—stretch lace versus rigid lace, cotton, etc.," Beale also notes. Courtesy of On Gossamer Courtesy of On Gossamer Courtesy of Negative Underwear Courtesy of Negative Underwear Where To Start With Sizing With so many factors affecting the fit of bras, where's a girl to start? Though it might be an imperfect process, the natural starting point is, of course, taking your measurements. That, in addition to actually trying on a variety of styles—whether you purchase in-store or order online—is the way to find your true match. "Fitting is much more of an art than a science." According to Vosper and Schwab, "Fitting is much more of an art than a science, so sometimes trial and error, with the eye and help of an expert, can ensure you walk away with a bra that fits and feels great." Aka be patient—working in tandem with a pro and taking the time to try different things will eventually result in an informed purchase. If you prefer to fit yourself in the privacy of your own home, you can still get an accurate read—Beale explains: "Start below your arms and pull a measuring tape snugly across your chest for your band size [the numerical part of the size]. Do not squeeze! Take your second measurement around your back and the apex of your breast. This will be a larger number. Then subtract your first (smaller) measurement from the second to get your cup size. If your first measurement was 32 (your band size) and your second measurement was 36, subtracting 32 from 36 equals four or a D cup—as each inch equals a cup size, starting at A." All In The Details While the these two measurements are the key components of a size, Vosper and Schwab advise to consider other elements of fit as well: "In a well-fitting bra, the gore—the small center piece connecting the bra cups—should lay flat at your sternum, and shouldn't pull or buckle. The bra band should fit snug around your ribs without riding up your back or digging into your flesh. You shouldn't be able to pull it far from your chest either—the band provides the majority of support in a bra, so it should be comfortably snug. If your band is fitting well and supporting you properly, your straps shouldn't dig. Often times if a band is too loose, the back will ride up and the straps will dig in as a result—essentially the support that should have been achieved in the band is being transferred to the straps, which is pretty uncomfortable. Ideally your underwire or cup should cover the full breadth of your breast tissue, from center chest/sternum to right under your underarm. If you have too small of a cup/wire for your frame, you'll get wires digging into flesh. Finally, you should like the shape your bra gives you with a t-shirt on (from the front and the side)." Landing The Perfect Fit If it's been a while since you made a new purchase, it's definitely time, as innovations in technical design have evolved the way bras fit the body. "Historically, many women chose to wear bras that were larger than needed around the rib cage in their quest for comfort and ease. Today’s bras are made with superior fabrics and trims that offer more fit flexibility," says Debby Gedney, President of On Gossamer. As in—you now have a little more leeway in between sizes, so sizing up is no longer your only option. Vosper and Schwab agree: "What we've found is that most women are wearing a band size that's too big for them (or bras that are old and stretched out). That said, when you adjust your size down from a band perspective, you often need to size up in the cups to account for shifting proportions (e.g., from a 34B to a 32C, or a 36C to a 34D)." Finally, embrace the journey; as with many things, it's unlikely you'll get it right the very first time. "During your fitting, don't get too hung up on your measured size. At best, this is your absolute size; at worst a starting point for you to begin your bra trying-on journey," says Beale. Do all of the above and maybe, just maybe, the notion of ill-fitting lingerie will one day be unknown to us women (and ahem, our "girls"). Purchased twice-both snapped within a year
We purchased one of these, it snapped on a windy day; gave them a second chance and purchased another-that one just snapped. Neither lasted a year. I am extremely disappointed with the quality. They both snapped in the wind within a short period of time. It's completely unacceptable that a product designed to withstand outdoor conditions, especially basic wind, would fail so spectacularly. Do not waste your money…

Just the best flag pole. No need to continue looking
I've seen many flag poles on Amazon claiming that they are "tangle free." This one actually delivered on its promise. The last three I've had were supposedly tangle free, but were just two little plastic hoops (the size of washers) that were supposed to spin around but would get caught. This one is not like that. It's a good 3/4" - 1" hoop that spins around on the flag pole freely as the pole also spins. The other poles I would have to go out at least 2 or 3 times a day and untangle the flag. I've never had to touch this one after 2 weeks. It's help up in the big wind we've had also. The ONLY gripe I have about it were the clips for the flag grommets. They are very thin and really hard to fit a flag grommet through if you have a thicker flag like me. I cut myself on them a few times. A tip would be to check to make sure they're facing the right direction. Mine were assembled funny at the factory I'm assuming so that cost me some time and a little skin as well. Overall, AMAZING FLAG POLE. Looks extremely well made. I recommend to everyone.

Consistently great flagpoles!
I have several of these flagpoles and they've always performed as expected. They are easy to set up and the flags never bunch up because of the wind. They look great and their durability is excellent.
