I am BONKERS for this hat. Luckily, I'd read the reviews and knew to buy it small. I bought two of these in two different patterns for my 19 month old and almost 3 year old, in the infant size, and they fit great. Other than that, great hat. We always get compliments, wherever we go. Core patterns, light weight, dries quickly, ties on which is nice, since my youngest doesn't like to keep his on. I'd highly recommend this hat, but remember unless your kids have gigantic heads, buy it smaller than you normally would!

This is huge! I bought a size 2-4 for my younger son who is 18 months thinking that he would be able to use it this summer and next - but its way too big for him. I will use it for my almost 4 year old - it's actually probably too big for him, but you can tie the string so I guess it should be fine. It also has a nice inner lining that should keep his head cool. It seems to be good quality so i think it'll last a summer or two and the print (sharks) is bright and looks very cute. I didnt have the issue that other people had with the wrong pattern showing up! I ordered the smaller size for my younger son so hopefully that will fit!

As far as a bucket hat would go, this is pretty much exactly what we wanted. Our little guy is too young for sunscreen so we needed something to keep the sun out of his face and this does the job. Washes easily, didn't fall apart in the washing machine. It is softer than I thought it would be, so that is an unexpected plus. Astronauts are awesome so you can't go wrong there. I think I am going to order the one with Orca's in the next size up as well because this one works out so well. Orcas and Astronauts are in my list of favorite things, so it is like they know exactly what I want.

I am a big fan of this hat! My 1 year old will not keep a hat on for them life of me. As soon as one is on his head he rips it off. So I was looking for an awesome hat that would stay on his head. This iplay hat is great! The pattern is adorable and there are many to choose from. The quality is great and there are two straps that tie together under his chin. This really helps keep it on him. Also it keeps his little head from getting burnt! It is still light weight and breathable so he doesn't get sweater than usual with it on.

My son actually agreed to wear this hat which was a huge win. I think it's becaue he liked the turtles on it so the design was helpful to me. The brim is wide enough to give shade on his face. However he doesn't love having the brim out over his face so I flipped it up a bit but even then he is getting some shade which is great. The hat also washes well which is helpful.One note on the fit of the hat...my son is almost 3 and his head size is in the 90th percentile. This hat definitely has some room for his head to grow but still fits well enough where it's not falling off. However, if you have a child with a head on the smaller size, I would recommend sizing down. This is the reason I gave it four instead of five stars. It would be nice if it was just a bit smaller for him.

This hat is really cute, but it's WAY bigger than I'd expected. I ordered it for my 2 year old & I think it would fit a 5 year old. The brim is very wide all the way around & I'm not sure he'll be able to see when wearing it, so I may need to pin it up a little in front for a while. The size stated 2 to 4 years, but it is definitely on the 4 year end of sizing in my opinion. It's a very good quality hat & the colors are vibrant - so it's worth the price, but be aware that it's probably not made for the average 2 year old's head!

It will be a while before this fits our baby, but it's about what I expected. Maybe a tad large as some have pointed out, but I'd rather it be large than small. My only issue with it is the pattern. The turtles are super cute, but the pattern is way too big for this size hat. There's not a single full turtle on the whole hat, they are all just turtle parts cut off by the seams. The picture looks much better than the hat I received. Oh well, it will do the job and my baby will never know the difference, but if you're super particular like me, that kind of stuff can drive you crazy.

I love the octopus pattern of this hat! My toddler has worn it almost every day of the summer and it is showing no signs of wear/tear. He definitely has room to grow with it but the slightly large size has not been an issue; in fact, it probably helped provide better protection for his face and neck. He wouldn't tolerate having the string tied tightly under his chin, so we've tied it low so it hangs loosely but keeps the hat around his neck if the wind catches it. My only issue with the hat is that it is pretty light weight and does blow off easily in the wind. BUT, the light weight material dries very quickly when wet, and I wouldn't want to compromise the area of protection by having a smaller, tighter-fitting or heavier weight material... SO, I would definitely recommend this product to a friend. Plus, I recently discovered that there are toddler swim trunks with a built-in swim diaper in matching material! That may be my next purchase...
