Great little power inverter for 12V batteries either diy or real 12V batteries with car chargers
I have tested this device on various 12V battery packs that I have laying around in my office. I specifically purchased it for a small application to make some of my electronics projects more portable to move quickly to other places in the workshop. This device has helped charge varioius macbook pros, run small 12V .03A fans for hours on a 12.6V custom 18650 battery pack with 1A output and the inverter powers the whole things flawlessly. I even tested the over protection circuit with a small saw and it cut the power and protected the device before blowing up the battery pack. Yes the fan is always going to run, you should know that. It's a inverter meaning that it's taking a smaller powered battery and stepping up the power which guess what generates heat folks! The more power your draw, the louder the fan. Why?! Because it would otherwise be a fire hazard and overheat. A possible solution would be add a heat sink but that would make the device bigger and still require a fan. Stop leaving bad reviews for fan noise, that that is a side effect of using an inverter. This device does exactly what it says and works very well. I have tested all outputs at once and it still works and doesn't trip the over power protection. Of course though, I plug in devices that match the specs. Don't always believe what you see on the back of each device, use it as a guideline. You need to take a percentage of that value and accommodate for variance in device draw under load. If you over power the device, that is on you, not the device.

Great purchase
Great purchase. Works great. We used it for an inflatable 4th July rocket for front of truck and it worked a great. My husband didnโt know they made those so he was very happy

Perfect charging tool for the road
I ordered this while getting ready for a long Orlando trip. I purchased this primarily for charging and running my laptop in the car, to play movies for kids. However, I found it giving best charge for my phone and iPad as well. For some reason, my phone's car charger and iPad's car chargers were very slow to juice up those devices. With Bestek adapter, chargings were quiet fast. It came in handy as we had two phones, an iPad, my laptop and occasionally my DSLR's Li-ion battery. I like this product very much, with pros described through above accounts. There not many cons with this product. If I have to be nitpicky and must find one, then only con I saw was the noise it makes with its built in fan. It makes louder noise when initially plugged in and it's getting ready. After that, with other noise (that of a car being on the road and music in the car, etc.), I couldn't notice the noise. For this, I took away a star. Really wanted to take half or qrtr star off, but there isn't such option. :-)

Works well, quiet, small, and well-designed
I wanted this to charge a battery for a portable/cordless tire inflation tool with a rechargeable battery pack that I could carry in my car and not have to rely on a corded inflation tool that plugged into the lighter receptacle. This had plenty of "juice" for the job, and its little cooling fan is pretty quiet. I plug the battery charger into the inverter which goes into the lighter receptacle, then connect the battery to the charger. It charges quickly, and when fully charged, I just snap he battery into the inflation tool. This way, I never have to worry about a cord or the battery running out of charge.

Remote power.
If you have rechargeable battery operated tools and drive to where there is no power to work you need this.

Good For Emergency Power -- Phone Charging etc...
I got this as part of my emergency kit, just to have more power options in the event of a power failure, like we had in Sandy. I have not tried this in "anger" yet, no need has come up, but I did take a nearly dead BlackBerry, Kindle HD, a smart phone and it charged them all perfectly (I did them one at a time.) Summary: I took off a couple of points for the sloppy AC wave form and the idle current use, but would recommend to a friend with the above caveats, and would personally buy again knowing what I know now, after all it does work well for what I wanted. While potentially annoying to someone using this in the car stopped for a long time, the fan running all of the time is actually a good thing for the life of the product, parts will run real hot under a full load and cooling them properly will help prevent failures. As a rule of thumb always get 2 times the wattage / mA your device actually needs, these run best at 50% load and that also allows plenty of headroom for occaision usage spikes from your device. (Plus I think the ratings are on the "optimistic" side, attained only with an ideal load under ideal circumstances, so not a lie, just not likely your experience.) - - PROS: - Will USB charge most phones and tablets. - 115VAC -- Suitable for the uses I had, phone wall wart - DC Output (USB) very clean and obviously just going straight through a regulator, nicely done, no introduced ripple at all (means same as battery itself) -- Also no change in voltage with load change, held rock solid, again, just like a battery would (did) - Form Factor, small, easy to use, just toss in glove box - Dual USB port to charge two small devices at once, tried my BB and smart phone at the same time - Reasonable Fan Noise while car is in motion (count on it being on all the time, no matter what the load) CONS: - Very Ugly 110VAC Waveform -- This is likely to not work on anything but older non-switching style wall warts, and very well built new ones, you will want to try this before needing it. If your wall wart is 2" square or larger it is likely an older style one and will work fine, if it is a itty-bitty one (technical term :) then it may not work, my BlackBerry one worked fine and it is clearly a new style switching wall wart, but it is a very expensive one (well built). To be fair it should be noted that all small static inverters work this way, but I suspect some do a better job than this unit, the only thing is you'll pay a lot more for a "true sine" wave inverter and likely not need it. - Draws 220mA just plugged in, most of this is the fan. This is only an issue if you had intended on leaving it plugged in all the time. - While the fan was not bad I would not want to be stopped in the car for a long time using it, but on the road, on the move at about 35MPH I could not hear it at all. - Form Factor is also a pro and con, on the con side is where you need to plug it in, as an all-in-one unit, make sure you have enough room around your lighter / accessory plug for this to fit. If that is an issue there are other unit available with a cord or you can buy the lighter extension cord for a few bucks here and solve the problem, much smaller plug, and much deeper socket so it stays in better. Video: This is shows the Bestek version of a 110VAC sine wave and a view of a real sine wave from the wall (utility power). Looks a little rough and easy to see why it might bother power supplies that can't easily smooth this out, such as inexpensive switching supplies. (Non-geeks, this is not as bad as it looks, as noted all inexpensive static inverters are going to look about like this) Specs as measued by me: Idle Current Draw - about 1/4 Amp (220 mA)@ 13.5DVC AC voltage varied from 110.08VAC @ 12VDC exactly, 112.84VAC at 13.5VDC so it moves around with input voltage. AC votage also varied on load, from a base of 112.84 VAC at no load, to 107.17 VAC at 120W, at 75W it was 110.26 VAC Frequency varied from 59.774Hz - 61.032 but a 10 minute average came in at 60.044Hz (75W load) DC ripple was not measurable on anything I own, essentially 0 - any load DC Voltage - 5.04VDC, like a rock BTW -- The 300W version of the Bestek waveform looks exactly the same, so same design just beefier parts for more power.

Very useful device for the car
Remember when cars had just a cigarette lighter? Now I have a USB, HDMI and other ports. Still I didnโt have enough outlets for my phone, Alexa Auto, companion cellphone, iPad, etc. So I got this device to plug into the old ciggie lighter port and it worked great! It has a tiny fan in it that keeps it cool. One AC outlet and two USB outlets. Turns off when car engine is off so it doesnโt drain my battery. It was a life saver on a recent vacation.

Meh
Works ok ish. There's a cheesy fan in it that makes noise and it doesn't really charge at 2 amps.

Excellent
Works great for putting air in mattress for camping

Good product; Short neck may be problematic
Good product for the price. This inverter proved useful on a camping trip when I needed to pump up an air mattress. I now keep this inverter with my camping gear just incase. The short neck of the inverter can be problematic. The neck is short and the inverter portion is bulky and therefore cannot fit in tight places. The inverter did not fit in the cigarette lighter receptacle near my cup holders, however I had a second receptacle where it did fit.

Didnโt work, returned
Would not charge electronics. Tried in two separate ports in the truck, it would have a green light turn in then switch to red and the laptop or phone plugged into it would show no charging happening. Returned and shopping for a different one
