Fiebing's Leather Dye 4oz Black - Alcohol Based penetrating & Permanent Leather dye

The dye worked very well in changing my boot color from brown to black. The dye worked as described.

Follow the suggestion of the top reviewer who did the boots. I have an old leather jacket and have tried to dye it numerous times and only got a slightly less faded jacket. I used two coats of this, almost the full bottle on a women's medium jacket and then coated with the Paul's bees wax suggested by the review who did the boots. Looks great and you get the added benefit of rubbing off the excess dye while applying the bees wax.

Bought to restore a set of FD RX7 suede/microfiber seats from sunfade blue. Very runny and hard to pour out of the bottle - it doesnt have the surface tension water based dyes do. The color and result are very good; total jet black and it didnt ruin the soft texture of the material, however it didnt do a very good job of hiding a stain. It took me a whole bottle to realize how 'less is more and more does less' this stuff really is on the material i worked but will need way more than i expected regardless.

The best dye on the market. Works great on my leather projects.

I bought this stuff to dye a pair of sandals (leather-suede like material). I didn't do any special prep on the leather .. just wiped this stuff on and let it soak in. Easy and shoes look great. A few days later, I got caught in the rain with those shoes and was sure I would have black stripes on the tops of my feet. Nope ... all good! I actually already had black leather dye at home but with a different applicator (or no applicator) so I bought this one because of the applicator style. Worked well.

It worked perfectly! I used this to color a pair of Salomon Quest boots. Tho the directions said to NOT use on synthetic material, I disregarded this and colored the entire boot. Rubber. Synthetic Canvas (gray). And actual leather. I need all black boots for work so I risked it. They came out perfect. Great deep black color. I was afraid the dye would rub off on my hands but after two days of drying it has not. It has been a month now, color is still the same and looks great, tho I have not worn them in the rain but once. But I don’t think it’ll matter. The dye that I applied to the edges of the rubber sole has all rubbed off, but I had hope that would happen as it had a purplish hue to it. If your thinking about using this on boots w synthetic material, I would try it.
