Timex Women's Ironman Triathlon Essential 34mm Watch

I have had 3 IRONMAN Womens watches. I followed a video I found on You Tube to learn how to set the watch. Wish I had learned years ago. Things I did not notice or know before I purchased: I like a wider band and a replaceable band. The battery must be replaced by a professional. Product looks as shown. Mine has purple buttons. My wrist is small therefore the tip or end of the band goes all the way around the watch to the opposite side near the face of the watch and has to be secured with the band loop all the way or it will fet caught on items. So it is a bit long for my small wrist. The info says it is 7.5 inches long. I do not know my wrist measurement. For the price this has a good sporty woman's watch appearance. Since I have worn Ironman Timex watches for about 40 years, I am expecting it to last at least 8 years. The only reason I purchased a new one is the band caught on something and cut it so short that it won't stay in the loop and sticks out. I have not been able to find a watch repair person who can replace the wrist band. So it is still ticking-still working and it is over 10 years old. I can comment only on appearance and fit. Once I have used it a while I'll add more to this review. I am concerned that while setting the watch time and date, that it was already set in the 2016 year. It may sound like I am unhappy with this watch. I am happy with the price, value, look [fashion]. I just wish I coukd have predicted 7.5 inches would be too long for me. It arrived on time and with 2 other items in the same box. All in good condition. I do hope this helps someone to measure their wrist. The size of the font of the numbers is the same as my previous IRONMAN and "time" is easily read.

I’ve been a faithful Ironman wearer for as long as i can remember. They used to only come in huge heavy black, which i guess is supposed to be cool for big male jocks. I require all of the functions for my complex field, and don’t need to lug around the extra weight. She’s small and pale and fits my weak little wrist.

It pains me to only give this four stars because this watch style. I bought this to replace another watch of the same kind that I had for at least 5 years. It's a good price and it arrived on time. It got scratched within the first 24 hours of use and I went online and tried everything I could find to fix it, nothing worked. So I reached out to Amazon and they sent me another one. So far so good. The other one claim, clearly used, but I didn't mind. The package was mangled and the plastic screen protector that's supposed to come was missing. It was also moderately scratched which really bummed me out because I ordered it to replace one that was scratched. I managed to get the scratches off and everything was working fine. I set it up without a problem. But then after a day or so I noticed that it was losing time. Only a matter of seconds which may not matter to some but to me it was pretty annoying. I thought that maybe I had done something or maybe I just didn't set it as well as I thought I had. I wanted to give it the benefit of the doubt. So I reset it, down to the second and again a couple of days later it was a second or two behind. I went back on Amazon to see if anything could be done. There's no option to return or replace it as it is the replacement. I also reached out to Timex's online chat service to see if they could help and there was never anyone available to chat with. I tried for three days to reach out to them. At this point I'm kind of at a loss. I might try calling Timex, which I hate doing because phone calls make me nervous, but I don't really know what else to do. It's such a shame because it's a great watch otherwise. The last one I had I had for several years and I wore it everyday. It broke my heart when it died. So imagine my disappointment when this one starts giving me problems.

I am a watch lover, and Timex is one of my favorite brands. I was on the fence about ordering this watch because I am a fan of traditional analog style watches. I always felt like digital watches were for kids. 🤷‍♀️ I also never liked the idea of the silicone watch bands. But, I decided to give this watch a try, and I'm so glad I did! One thing that's important to me in a watch is water resistance. I don't want to have to constantly take it off and put it on depending on what I'm doing. This watch is water resistant up to 100M and it has stood up to that claim pretty well for me. It has been soaked every day since I got it. Doing dishes, hand washing, forgetting to take it off when I get in the shower... All good. The silicone band is comfortable and easy to adjust. It holds in place really well. And I've found I like the silicone band because it dries so quickly when it gets wet. It's a nice size, not too big, not too small. I have tiny wrists and find a lot of watches to be huge. This is a bit on the larger side for me, but it is feminine looking and works well. The features of the watch are great and easy to use. The Indiglo feature is a must for me as a fan of Timex watches, lol. My favorite thing about this digital watch is that it displays the day of the week as well as the date which comes in very handy for me as I am constantly having to check the date. The instructions that come with the watch are not the greatest, but a quick Google or YouTube search for this model will have you setting up and operating this watch in a matter of minutes. If you're looking for a sturdy, reliable watch with lots of good features, this one will not disappoint.

Do not buy a watch from this Timex Page. I had the identical watch that I had purchased from a retail store and when the battery died at the 3 year mark, I purchased a new battery and used a tool kit to swap the batteries. Easy. Then next year, The silicone strap ended up ripping (which is understandable given the work I do and time I had it) so I decided to replace it with the identical watch on this Timex Amazon page. I reviewed the photos, descriptions and details closely as I do for every purchase I make. I ordered it in July, by October it stopped working and I assumed it was the battery. It was Pretty annoying that it only worked for 3 months. I assumed it had been on for years while sitting on a shelf in a warehouse or possibly even preowned. I purchased a new battery, went to change it and noticed two of the screws were not the Phillips (X) screw head but rather 2 triangles (∆) which I didn't have a tool set for. This watch had two Philips and two triangle screws on the back. I reviewed the photos in the ad again and the photo of the back of the watch in the amazon ad clearly had 4 Philips (X) screws, so I was sent a watch that didn't match the photo or description in the ad. There was no mention of the screws used in the write up, or the requirement for a special screw driver set, or even the size of triangle screw head required so I called Timex and they stated they recommend taking the watch to a watch repair shop to have the battery changed (if that was even the Issue). It was very disappointing that it did not state in the ad that this was required or recommended. I believe this was false advertising. The jnlu offering (if you even want to call it that) was that I could pay for shipping for it to be sent to asia to be assessed, repaired If needed and have the battery replaced but it would be a 3 month turn around. Another disappointment. Had I read in the description the requirement for a special tool set or the need to have it professionally serviced or seen triangle screw heads on the back of the watch in the photos I definitely would not have purchased this watch. I will now need to research what size of screw head, purchase it, wait for its arrival, with the hope it was just the battery needing replacement. Or pay a local service person 35 dollars to swap the battery. What a disappointment. Do not purchase from Timex, in fact do not buy a Timex watch or support their company. There are many other alternatives. I was loyal for 25 years, but I am no longer.

If you have to wear reader glasses to see up close then you will not be able to read the day and date numbers very good because they are so small. The time numbers can be read but I wish they were bigger. The only other complaint is it only has 1 alarm, my other Timex had 3 alarms. The pros: the orient blue color is awesome and vivid. The smaller size of the watch face (34mm diameter) is very nice for women size wrists, and the band is small and nice also at 10mm. Looks so much better than the big, ugly, bulky, giant mens size watches. The timer can be set by the seconds instead of only minutes, so I can have the timer go off in 30 seconds between sets of lifting weights, to have a 30 second rest and then an alert to start next set. I wore it in the ocean once so far and it was waterproof. It is comfortable and lightweight. Interestingly the indigo light is very bright background and you can see it very well in the dark. My other Timex only made the numbers light up, this one the numbers stay black and the whole face lights up behind the numbers. Makes it be seen better.

UPDATE: The watch band tore on the 23rd month. I re-read some reviews on here and see that this is very common. Many claim the watch lasts 12-18 months so I guess I was lucky. For the price, that's not bad. This watch was perfect. I have yet to find a suitable replacement so I'm just going to buy another Ironman watch! It was great while it lasted. Play it again, Sam. For old time's sake. ---------- ORIGINAL REVIEW: I waited 2-and-a-half months before writing a review to make sure this thing is durable. Well, for the price, I can safely say this watch is great. Sometimes, I will go a week without taking it off and it always comes in handy. Especially in a world where it takes people 30 seconds to tell you what time it is because they have to dig their phone out of their purse/wallet/monkey backpack. I use the pulse calculator quite often while at the gym to get an idea of my heart rate with different exercises. I use the timer function when I cook (can't hear the oven timer from my room upstairs) and also for certain tasks at work. I don't use the stopwatch feature as often, but I do occasionally on a run or to time how long it takes for my computer at work to boot up... The best function of this watch is that it is water-resistant. Someone wrote a review complaining about how he/she pushed a button while swimming and the watch broke. The instructions that come with the watch CLEARLY STATE that the device is water-resistant as long as you don't push any buttons, which would break the water-tight seal. I take showers with my watch on all the time. Mostly because I am too lazy to take it off, but it helps when I am running late in the morning. The only negative, I'd say is that this watch is so comfortable and convenient, that I often forget to take it off. While black matches well with most things, occasionally I'll be dressed up (say, for the symphony) and realize my sporty watch looks a little weird with my dress. Then I take it off and put it in my purse. Overall though, it's subtle enough to match most clothing. I can't say enough good things about this watch. A great deal at only $26.
