Make sure your keyboard supports halfโpedaling / continuous pedals like the FC3A before buying
The FC3A is a continuous / halfโdamper pedal designed for digital pianos that support halfโpedaling (Yamaha, etc.). It outputs a variable resistance so the instrument can sense โhow farโ the pedal is pressed. Works very well with the Expressive E Osmose as it is designed to handle continuous pedals like the FC3A natively. The FC3A sends variable CC values (0-127), not binary ON/OFF like other sustain pedals such as Roland DP-2/6/10, Yamaha FC4A/FC5). Lovely pedal - well built . Things to keep in mind when choosing what might be right for you written below. The FC3A does not appear to work with my Roland Juno D6 - being fundamentally a synthesizer with high-quality piano multisamples, not a dedicated digital piano, so it lacks acoustic piano features like half-pedaling as I discovered. The Juno-D6 Hold jack expects a switch-type pedal (momentary contact closure), not a continuous halfโdamper signal. It ignores or misreads analog expression meaning that the Juno-D6 cannot interpret the FC3A correctly, so you get no sustain or very erratic behaviour. What you need instead for a Juno D6 and other synthesisers that donโt support halfโpedaling is switch-type sustain pedal, for example:Roland DP-2, DP-6, DP-10 (set to switch mode) NB: DP-10 half-pedaling does NOT work with the Juno-D6 - the Juno D6 Hold jack is switch-only which is why you set the DP-10 pedal to switch.. Yamaha switch-type sustain pedals. FC4A or FC5

Excellent sustain pedal for my Yamaha keyboard
This pedal works exactly as I hoped. It feels solid and responsive, and the piano-style design makes it much more comfortable than a basic square sustain pedal. The half-pedal support is a nice feature, especially for more expressive playing, and it pairs very well with my Yamaha keyboard. Setup was simple, and the build quality feels reliable. Overall, this is a great upgrade and Iโm very happy with the purchase.

Loud scraping sound โ not what I expected from Yamaha
I expected high quality from Yamaha, but this pedal started making a loud scraping sound every time it was pressed. Unacceptable for a new item at this price point. Returned it.

Inverse pedal logic sustain pedal
This pedal is silent, smooth and the feel is perfect for playing piano. However, be aware that the logic is inverted and thus your keyboard must have the capability to reverse the Sustain Pedal logic like mine a Roland XV88. For some reason when I use my XV88 to record a sequence on my Mac with Logic Pro X, I must have my pedal connected to my XV88 and the MIDI connection already connected to my MAC prior starting Logic Pro X our the sustain pedal will be screwed up. Also, since it is a multi-level sustain pedal, the sustain recording is continuous and thus it looks like the mod wheel recording. Because of that, on the score view of Logic Pro X the pedal symbol becomes multiple and difficult to read.
