Park ToolWH-1 Wheel Holder

Good product
This works pretty well and I use it in my bench vise. The only issue I have found (and I could be screwing something up..) is that you can't secure the wheel to the through-axle. This causes it to slide when you need it to stay put. Otherwise, it is of the high Park tool quality I am used to.

Works well with a few issues.
Having used frequently for various wheel maintainence chores over the last several months, everall I like this tool, it functions like a 3rd set of hands to hold wheels while working on them. For the price though there are a few issues I have run across:- The thru axle rod needs a way to lock into the key slot better. The plastic thumb screw always seems to work loose no matter how much you tighten it (including with a wrench).- The thru axle rod isn't long enough to come all the way thru a rear wheel on a 12x142 bike. Which is really frustrating because the wheel doesn't sit fully supported on the tool and I feel like I am going to damage a bearing. I almost can't believe that they didn't make the rod a couple cm longer to properly support a rear hub. Unless there is a reason for it being too short that i am missing?- I wish there was a way to lock the wheel onto the thru axle rod. trying to work a tire onto a wheel in the vertical position i often pull the wheel off the tool.- the quick releases on my road bike don't fit thru the holes in the tool. which is usually fine except when i need to work on the rear axle "cassette out" which requires removing the QR and flipping it around.- The little c-shaped washer thing they give to use with quick release spindles is basically useless but you can tighten the QR down enough to get it to grab properly. its just annoying when finished with your task to have to open it all the way back up again to put the wheel back on the bike.

Awesome product! But...
...let's face it... $105 for this? A touch much. But man it really makes life simpler when working on your tires and wheels. And while I gotta say it's not really worth the price... I knew that before I bought it. They make a cheaper version of this tool but I chose this one... I I'm happy with my purchase.

Nice Tool but with a surprise
I have three bikes and it seems like wheels need regular attention. This tool makes maintenance very convenient. It works perfectly with my bench vise and I like having 3 different positions to work on the wheels and tires. However, there was one surprise. Two of my bikes have through axels and the WH-1 is ideal. The third bike has a Shimano quick release skewer and I found that the quick release lever wouldn't fit through any of the holes in the WH-1. I contacted Park to see if I was doing something wrong and they noted that not all QR's are compatible. Shimano? Anyway, I spent $20 on some different skewers and now all is good. Overall I really like this tool.

Worse possible gizmo for a Quick-Release hub
I tried every which way possible to make this fool's tool work, and I found it to be a time-eating hassle. My wheels use quick-release skewers, and regardless how I mounted the wheel into the tool, with or without additional spacer washers (trip to hardware store) to help secure the wheel, I could not stop the wheel from wobbling. I found this thing to be a serious waste of time and money. As soon as I removed the wheel from the dang tool, I was able to tighten the cone nuts just right, spin the wheel in my hand, ascertain no play in the axle, then mount it on the bike--all in a fraction of the time I spent trying to make this expensive junk work for me. You would be better off to purchase an old beater bike, remove the front fork, and mount it upside down in a 4-inch to 6-inch vise, and mount your wheel in the fork. Don't get me wrong, I use a Park repair stand, and various Park tools, but this is junk if you have QR skewer in your wheel axle.UPDATE: Feb 5 2021: Tonight I was able to adjust my wheel hub cone nuts and eliminate 99.9% of the wheel wobble in a fraction of the time I spent trying to use the Park Wheel Holder tool. I used a Capri 17mm Super-Thin Wrench (this wrench is 1.5 inch longer than the Park 17mm cone wrench thus allowing more leverage and better grip).; also used a URREA 1217ML 17mm box wrench (12 inch long). There are plenty of YT videos that show how to make the cone nut adjustments. It's a skill learned with practice, practice, practice. After I made the final cone nut adjustments, I used the two wrenches above to cinch both outer 17mm nuts (one on each side of the axle) against each other, turning them maybe 1/8 turn tighter. After putting the wheel on the bike, all the wheel wobble is completely gone.

Perfect stand for working on your wheels
This seems very expensive for what it is until you use it and realise how much easy this makes working on your wheels. Usual Park Tools quality and design which is what you are paying for works with 15mm, 12mm, 20mm and spindle axles perfect for the job.

A luxury purchase not necessary needed
If you spend time on your wheels then this is a very useful tool. It makes inserting tyre sealant much easier and you can work on the hubs too

Good but pricey
Very solid piece of kit. Works well. A little over priced though given the materials and simplicity of construction
