Hawkins Futura Nonstick Dosa Tava, Diameter 33 cm (13 inch), Thickness 4.88 mm (Black) NDT33

I had this on my wishlist for some time and am very happy I got it. I was using an electric griddle to make dosas which works fine but can be a little difficult to clean. This tava is much easier to use and clean up. The dosas turn out great. I have not yet used it fr anything else, but I am sure it will work fine for other purposes as well.

This is one of the best product purchase from Amazon. It works for all my daily cooking for breakfast egg, bread, roti, Pita bread. Evenly cook, less time. Not a single residue left at the top or bottom. It is beyond my expectation and exceeded my purchase experience. After using at least 10-12 griddle this is the best I ever happy with the purchase.. It may be expensive investment, but will carry you for a long long time.

This product is a very useful one in my kitchen. I use this to make dosas, chapatis , toast bread , egg omelletes. Multipurpose tawa for many recipes. Consume less oil due to nonstick coating. I also put it in dishwasher.

This product is phenomenal for Dosas!! Yes!, I know it's only a pan but I have to tell you that this is the best one that we have used. I have been on a quest to make the perfect masala dosa recently and I bought the lodge (10-11inch) cast iron pan followed by another cast iron which was 14 inch and they are good but every once in a while the dosa will get stuck and you need to spend time seasoning them. What I like about this pan 1. Size - Great size for great dosas ;). 13 inch which perfect 2. Thickness - The pan is thicker than most other non-stick pans I have seen and maintains heat well 3. Non stick coating - Excellent. The dosas literally float off the pan! Slight exaggeration but you'll see! ;) Hope this helped. Don't thick twice. I have seen some reviews about the bottom not being flat which was a problem for some. We use gas and this was not an issue for us.

Perfect size for making dosa or pancake. This pan is worth it. Initially it may smell for the first use , but later it will be fine. no stickiness at all. easy to clean with the provided scrubber. works well. heat distributes well, but better to cook on medium settinģ on electric stove

I bought the tava on July and now on November the pan got completely scorched in the span of 4 months, the metal got completely warped and the protective black coat on top of it crusts off and gets onto the food.

Haven't had it long but we've used it 3x to make south Indian dosas. The base radiates heat excellently especially when used on a high btu gas burner. Nonstick coating is excellent. Though made of plastic, the handle seems sturdy enough and is offset enough not to melt/burn (a common problem among griddles of this type.). Would have like to see the handle welded to the griddle but it's bolted/riveted on instead. We'll see how it holds up over time. Buyer should note that the griddle is not entirely flat; it has a very slight concave curve but we don't find it to be an issue for our purposes.

Exactly what we needed to make dosas at home! Great pan.

Very sturdy and solid. Even heat dusting. Made roti & samosa pastry on it. Haven’t tried dosa as yet.

I've had no luck in cooking dosas on a large cast iron skillet. I wasn't really looking for a tava until I found this, at substantial discount, while trolling Warehouse Deals. It comes with a wooden spatula, a scrubber and a recipe book. I'm a rank amateur when it comes to dosas , though it's a favourite snack I've seen made and eaten many times in India. This tava does an excellent job of cooking my messy efforts and the dosa slides right off when crisp. Practise , practise! This is a simple, quality product. Coincidentally, I have a Hawkins stainless steel pressure cooker which I used and brought home from India 21 years ago. It's been in constant use since then and is still on its original lid seal, so I'm confident in the quality of Hawkins products.
