Parents have never had a tougher job than now. Our culture bombards our daughters with unhealthy role models, misleads them about the consequences of early sexual activity, and even adds to the confusion of adolescences by encouraging them to question their โgender.โ Meg Meeker has been a pediatrician for more than thirty years, is a mother and a grandmother, and has seen it all. She knows what makes for strong, happy, healthy young womenโand what puts our daughters at risk. Combining that experience with her famous common sense, she explains the eleven steps that will help your daughterโwhether sheโs a toddler or a troubled teenโto achieve her full human potential. In this book, you will learn: The four biggest questions every daughter hasโand that you must answer Why it's the quality, not the quantity, of your daughter's friends that matters The essential, complementary roles that mothers and fathers play The dangers of social mediaโand how to help your daughter navigate them What every daughter needs to know about God Why depression is often a "sexually transmitted disease" How to launch your daughter into successful womanhood If you have a daughter, and worry about her future, you need Dr. Meg's advice. Review: YOU NEED THIS - Professionally presented in common everyday terms, stories and analogies. Highly considered, ethical and moral recommendations throughout. I strongly recommend to any fellow parent with a daughter they even remotely care about. I trust it will improve her life and yours as it has mine. Review: Educate yourself - this book is a great tool - This book provides parents a great resource to raising your daughter and sons in an era of tech, the new norm of social teenagers and what will surprise you is that you didn't know everything. Working in a MS myself, what Dr. Meeker writes about I have seen. So many things pre-teens/teens are struggling with is in this book. Please read, not just for yourself, but for the young lady you are raising.

Definitely a 5 Star Book!
This book is great!!! I definitely recommend it. Really good tips, because it's very true we live in a toxic culture and us moms have to stay strong for our daughters and be a role model to them, especially with a strong faith.

If you aren't nervous about raising children now then
you aren't paying attention. Some good guidance and reassurance for those who are investing to create the future.

Unscientific and sexist
The author is a pediatrician, not a psychiatrist. The book is very Christian with sexist and transphobic undertones. Difficult to understand the point and difficult to draw conclusions or even understand the logic of the author. I didn't get far in the book but so far no scientific support for the author's claims is made. Regret buying and will stick to book from professionals from now on.

Very helpful for understanding today's issues with raising kids.
This is the first time I'm raising a teen daughter and so like everything I need to read up on it to better understand it. Even chapters was bang on what I'm seeing my daughters go through. I want the best for her and I want to be there for her. Thank you Dr.Meeker for your awesome book you wrote.

A good read for every dad
Nice way to approach things. About religion, interesting how the whole concept of spirituality is described. A good read for every father with daughters. Very good examples, but don't apply linearly. Sometimes, for the average dad, examples are at the other extreme (in the bad sense), but if you should be able to get your takeaways.
