Great way of learning
We use this mostly make our own game up and play 'shops' with the kids age 4 & 5, they collect things around the house to match the pictures and are now able to tell me how much things cost by reading the labels and I also get them to help me work out which coins I need to total up the amount. Fun and educational.

Excellent resource for school or home use. A little expensive, but invaluable to teach.
As a teaching assistant, I have found this to be an invaluable resource for the kids I work with, many of whom struggle when it comes to money and working out correct change from given prices, as well as addition and subtraction. It has realistic looking plastic coins and notes for UK pounds sterling, a spinner wheel, price tags and match up puzzle cards, as well as a piggy bank card, which you can write on with white board markers (not included).I think my only issue with this is that I think it is a little expensive at its current selling price of £14.50 and I think it would be better priced around £10/12 pounds at most. The puzzle cards allow you to match the prices of the products shown to their correct coin values and the spinner allows you to identify the coin. There are 70 coins of 1p, 2p, 5p, 10p, 20p, 50p, £1 and £2, as well as 12 bank notes £5, £10 and £20.There are enough coins to work with a small group and even have some shop role play.Due to the small coins, the set is aimed at children aged 5+, obviously due to the risk of choking if children put coins in their mouth, but I think that with supervision, you probably could start teaching younger children about the values of money with this.

Great resource
This is a great resource to help teach children about money. My son has been learning about this in school so this complimented and helped developed his knowledge. He loved counting the coins and recognising which coins were which. The pricing up function really helps to develop his basic adding and subtraction skills as well. The coins and notes are of good quality and very realistic. We have played with this lots - it would definitely have a long shelf-life.

Good for home or school
This is a really useful teaching aid for helping primary aged kids learn money counting and calculating skills that are so much harder to learn in our generally cashless world but are still very important. The coins and notes are realistic unlike most play money and there are progressive activities included that work like shop role play so are learning in a fun way.

Excellent money set for young children ... improves money skills as well as mental arithmetic.
This is another good product from Learning Resources who are very well known for producing good quality educational games and toys for young children. This 'Money Activity Set' is the perfect introduction for children to learn money skills like recognising different coins and notes, adding and subtracting, saving and spending as well as how money is used to buy and pay for things. Suitable for children aged five and above.Inside the box are the following** 70 mixed plastic coins** 12 money notes** 8 double sided money tags** 12 double sided money puzzle cards** Write and wipe piggy bank card** Double sided spinner** Activity guideAll of the pieces in this set have been made using good quality materials and each item is brightly coloured. My nephew's daughter aged five has been having great fun completing the activities in the guide. There are three levels of activities from simply recognising the different coins and notes to buying items and giving change. We have also been able to play shops with this set as well as a till, basket and food items that we already had. This set will also help a child improve their mental arithmetic skills as well as adding and subtracting tills.I think this is a must have educational toy for most girls and boys whilst still in the early years of primary school and it could certainly give them important skills in handling and using money.

Good
This is an excellent money set.Perfect for helping kids figure out money, count change etc which in turn helps them with their math skills. My daughter is 7 and this set has been really helpful in helping me teach her about about money, how much things cost etc. She often looks at my receipts now and counts out the money and change using these fake coins/notes. She has been showing and teaching her brother (4) about them and he is slowly getting it.Highly recommend!
