Great bargain, keeps going after months of use.
I ordered one of these about a year ago for myself to use my computer on my couch. It's wide enough to accommodate my plus size thighs, was easy to assemble, and holds my keyboard perfectly. I honestly have not used the fans, and didn't care for the mouse add-on. The adjustable angle and height options are amazing, and as my stars state, its very sturdy. I ordered one about a week ago for my husband as well, as he just had Hernia surgery, and we're using it as a guard for his abdomen both in bed and on the couch as well! It can keep a rambunctious 45lb puppy off of you, as well as cats! Everything except the mouse holder and the hinges and ends of the legs is made of metal. It is super sturdy. It's also great for holding books above your lap, for drawing, and even eating a meal on it as a tv tray! I also believe it would be useful for long car or bus rides as a little work desk. This item is sturdy, built to last at least a year and change, and has so many uses! Buy one, and I challenge you to argue me on this!

Idea is great, but execution is not.
This is one of those cases of "the idea behind this product is great, but the execution of it isn't as great". Pros: - Great form factor; can sit with a laptop on your couch or bed with ease and a decent amount of leg/hip room (about a foot and a half wide of space to slide your lower body under. - Good adjustment settings (check cons) - Fans are nice and breezy and cool non-gaming laptops well (i have a gaming laptop). Uses USB 2.0/3.0, NOT USB-c - The actual panel where you put the laptop is wide enough for a 15.6' laptop to fit on there pushed to one side to use th other side's ports. Id recommend not using anything over 15.6' Cons: - Poor build quality. Im sure this was to cut down on costs but that doesn't mean it isnt built poorly. I think it's made of aluminum. One of the slots where the legs go into actually broke off because of too much pressure, so i had to drill some nails into the product itself to even put the legs back (the nails did not come with the product). I did this to the other side to be safe (see photo). - Very flimsy. The joints do lock, but they do not lock in the place very well. The joints to wiggle if you well, wiggle them. (See video) - Mouse pad is very subpar. Im also sure this was to cut down on costs but again, that doesn't mean its not underwhelming. Its like a 5" x 5.5" plastic surface pad. Sturdy, but small so, in my opinion, not good for gaming. It would be decent for a phone holder or any light mouse work in my opinion. I also think that it would break off the side of the stand in time with too much heavy pressure. Just my prediction. - I'd recommend the max weight to put on this product is 5lbs - 7lbs. Anything over is pushing it. I have a 6 lb gaming laptop and yes it holds the laptop fine but sometimes i feel like the 6 lbs is almost to the product's limit. - DON'T apply too much physical pressure to the product when is standing. Do to the poor attachment of the leg locks, i applied some amount of force to the laptop platform (while it was standing), and the leg lock broke off. Thats why there are screws holding the product together now. (For the amount of force applied: imagine sitting on the ground and using a small coffee table to get up; that force your hand is apply to the table is like the same amount of force i used to test the durability of the product. I only did this test because I want a durable and reliable product. I only got this for $10 because i had a discount code and some leftover amazon credit. Why wouldn't i want to test something i see myself using every day? I want it to last regular every day use. There are laptops out there that are $1000+, and if the stand were to break mid-use, the laptop could fall and hit the ground, potentially breaking it. Im not saying to apply massive amounts of pressure, but just be aware of my experience. In my opinion, this device is not worth $40. The idea of the product, while great, does not justify the execution of the quality this product provides.

For the price it works great.
I have a little 11" chromebook that needed some air flow so I picked up this tray. It's nice that on each rotational leg it has the degrees you are at, but it seems like it was missing a dowel rod. You screw the mousepad into the side and it stops the tray from going wobbling, but without the rod for the other side it wobbles and if you lean it forward it will click and lock whether you want it to or not. If it had the screw or rod it would fix that problem. You push in the sides to move the angles on the legs which can be a little awkward with only 2 hands available. However, given that it's mostly plastic that is expected. The tray itself is metal, and it has 2 fans on the bottom which surprisingly has a power on / off button. Those fans won't run unless you plug in the USB cord to the laptop or some other power supply though, so it doesn't make much sense to me why it has that button. The price comes in about right. It's perfect for laying in bed watching a movie. The mousepad area is far too small. Don't expect to take it traveling with you as the tray legs will get broken. They are not sturdy at all. Before you put anything on the tray you have to double check to make sure those legs are "clicked" into place or they'll fall out. The last thing I want to talk about is the notches with the angle marks. Sure it goes 0-360 but realistically you are only going to be able to set it a set amount of ways. The instructions it came with showed 6 variations. I only use one no matter if it's sitting on my desk or if I use it in bed. The height it can raise too is pretty incredible for being made the way it is. There are spot welds on the tray. I don't understand why they wouldn't have used aluminum for the rest of it. It's backwards. If I had designed it I would have made the legs out of metal and the tray out of plastic. You get all of this weight from the tray and nothing from the legs so it makes it less stable. Lots and lots of wiggle room and I have only been using it for a short time. I hope it can hold up for a while. We'll see. For the price it does what it says it will do and nothing more. I wouldn't buy another one.

Works for me, but is overpriced
So I'm a student, finishing my degree and studying for the MCAT. My job involves being on a computer which I can luckily adjust so I can stand or sit. I bought this so that I can study around my house instead of just being on my desktop using my monitor. I keep it at the 30 degree x 3 adjustment sitting on my kitchen island and I love it! It came in yesterday and I'm liking it so far. I didn't even look to see if there were instructions, I just popped in the arms. Adjusting the angle of the arms is very difficult, you have to slowly move each piece by clicking the center of the joint. I was super nervous the arms would snap each time I tried to find a height I liked. I do agree that it does seem cheaply made. I have a 2015 13 in mac pro and I refuse to try leaning on it. I think that if you want this to sit on your couch, I wouldn't recommend this. This doesn't seem like something ideal for your lap. I would only recommend this if you want this on a stable surface. If I hit the countertop, the stand does shake a bit. I have a K480 logitech keyboard I luckily kept and use when I put my laptop on the stand. I didn't really care for the mouse pad and just planned on putting my phone on there. I have a logitech MX ergo mouse that I use on my desktop and with this set up. In regards to the mouse pad, there were no instructions on how to assemble it and it seems like it would be permanently on if I did, so I'm leaving it off. For the fan, luckily the 2015 mac pro has enough USB ports so I can plug it into my laptop. If you need the USB port hub, you should still have enough room depending on the size of your laptop. Again, mine is 13 in and I have about an inch and a half on both sides. Overall, for my needs, this stand does what I want. I tried to add pictures but for some reason I cant. I'm studying all day and felt that with my screen at eye level, I'm able to study longer. It wasn't as hard to keep studying last night as it usually is.

Flimsy and difficult to adjust
Like a lot of people I've been working from home during the pandemic, so I thought I would pick up a laptop stand that could also be used in standing desk mode. In April I purchased a laptop stand to help with neck-strain, it's worked great, but I was hoping to pick up a unit that I could easily adjust from laptop stand to full standing desk working from my home office - or as my daughter like to call it the kitchen. I'll be honest I've only used this for one day, but I should have saved my money and purchased something a little better. This desk is pretty flimsy, it feels like it's going to fall over at any moment. In fact if you don't adjust the legs and the top table just right the unit will tip over once you put the laptop on it. There seems to be some trial and error involved, but I don't feel like taking any chances with my work laptop. I've been taking my laptop off the stand every time I adjust the legs or the angle. It's also really difficult to adjust the angle settings on the legs of the unit. You have to push each button separately to adjust the height/angle. It's hard to hold the unit, push the button, and adjust the legs - you'll need a third arm. One annoying problem with this is that because each leg has 3 joints, and they have to be adjusted individually and at exactly the same angle, I've had some trouble getting everything exactly the same on each side. Don't even try to adjust the angle with your laptop on the stand. The final thing I'm not thrilled about is the mouse pad. It's a great idea in theory, but your mouse will fly off the mouse pad if you bump into the unit. Also, you have to remove the mousepad if you plan on flattening out the unit because the screw for the mousepad is on the middle leg. I'm going to stick with this unit. Hopefully, I'll get better at adjusting the unit, or at the very least I'll use it only as a standing desk and stick with my laptop stand for the rest of my workday.

The best laptop stand/base/tray
All the different angles really surprised me. I wanted to buy this laptop stand a long time ago but it was very pricy. Now at this price, it's really incredible. The legs are plastic and the tray metal so probably they cut costs this way, but I'm very happy with the product—exactly what I was expecting, or maybe even better. Great fans to cool down the computer powered by the laptop USB port (this is very nice) and a mouse stand attached to it I wasn't expecting. The only negative issue is that with the mouse stand attached to it then it's a little big for a small desk where you have a monitor, keyboard, and a big lamp as I do, but not an issue at all if you have a big desk.

TWO HUGE THUMBS DOWN
Omg I just had to write a review right away on this product! Normally, I will wait until Amazon sends me an email prompting me to write a review but I actually went into my orders for this one! i even went to the product company’s Facebook page and wrote on there as well- I don’t think I’ve ever done that before.....I am so frustrated with this POS it isn’t even funny. I’d like to start with the contents of the package. A small flat piece of metal with holes in it, back side has fans and a power button. A cord so short, how could you plug it in? If you had the extra port to do so and there is no plug into the wall... Two spider leg looking pieces of plastic (the legs) with stiff buttons, until you push them practically breaking your fingers and then they will spin ‘round the clock- which makes this EXTREMELY DIFFICULT to match each side once put together. This thing has fallen on me so many times, it’s completely unstable. Let’s get to the additional mouse pad “table”. What a joke. With unclear instructions I struggled getting it on, because once on, you all of the sudden develop no clear range of adjustment with the actual table part. Also, there are no grip pads on the bottom set of legs so it was sliding or falling into the couch crevices when I adjusted my weight. Another thing I would like to point out.... I am a very small framed woman, weighing 110 pounds. I tried to put this on my husband and it was so tight on his legs he was uncomfortable or felt like he could not move around. We couldn’t even put it up to his hips. For the amount of money that this costs I am shocked that this product is so horrible, flimsy, unstable and SO DIFFICULT to even get set up! You MUST use use your knees if you want to adjust this while it holds your lap top or your laptop will fall and possibly break OR you could repeatedly take your laptop on and off to see if it’s at a comfortable level for you. I’ll pass. UGH!!!! This gets zero stars from me and I’m sending this junk back!
