This is a simple small tank which is what I wanted. Takes some practice to get it to vent correctly (by loosening cap). Also if the cap is screwed down and you pull off a fuel line gas will spray all over the place. But that warning is on the tank. Just be sure to use this tank properly or pay more and get a tank that has a separate vent.

Bought this for spare for my Jon boat . I was amazed when I received it seeing how thick of material it's made of. Not made cheap like some of the others on the market.seems to hold the hose securely with no leaks.

Holds great although don’t tighten the cap all the way as it is not needed. If you do tighten it on the way the gas wont be able to breathe and it will bubble up

I have used this product on my boat for several months. That means many, many times. In every way, this fuel tank works exactly as promised. Attwood has always delivered as good or better than expected. I highly recommend the tank and anything with the Attwood brand.

This tank is well designed, and just the right capacity. When full it is light enough, because it’s only a 3 gallon tank, the 6 gallon tank are way to heavy to carry any distance.

This tank does not internal vent pressure due to laws. It does however vent inward so that there is no vacuum or vent to open when running the engine. The net result is that the tank pressurizes in the summer heat and when it cools down draws in fresh air only to heat up again. My tank is significantly deformed from new, bulging outward, but works. Maybe all brands suffer the same, but I would try another brand hoping for better.

I was real wary buying this tank without any reviews at all (prior to mine) but it appears to be a solidly built, quality product. I saw a number of 3-gallon marine fuel tanks on Amazon/eBay for a whole lot more than this one so I figured that I might be getting something of dubious quality but that does not appear to be the case. The plastic walls of the tank are pretty thick and the tank is EPA certified to prevent evaporative emissions from leaking out. The label on the tank says it was made in the USA (nice!) and was "designed, built, and certified to meet the requirements of EPA CFR 40 and California CCR 2468". Also says it is "warranted to be free of defects in material and workmanship for two (2) years". I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one but this one will last longer than the outboard motor it will be paired with.

It is a perfect fit for my Jon Boat. The reviews are packed full of pros and cons for this tank. Yet for me a pressurized tank is not bad thing for my tired old 15 horse. It made all the difference over my old leaking tank. When you have finished using it for the day simply stand it on end. The pickup tube is not in the gas and your gas will not be pushed out. This is not a good way to store or transport the tank because of the obvious tipping hazard. However, when you park your boat it seems to work OK. In all the tank suits my needs very well, but I do feel they are a little pricey in comparison to some 6 gallon tanks.

It was not a 3 gallon like I ordered, but was compact enough to fit under the boat seat for the kicker motor. Worked out better, so there was more gas onboard. I switched out the cap, for an airflow one, as this doesn't have an air release to allow more flow. Sturdy and portable if need be.
