It's BLACK and it works.
I've used Shoe GOO for years to extend the life of my otherwise-good shoes. It really works! It's durable, it adheres well with adequate surface prep, and it does in fact keep the shoes going. Surface prep is important: I always clean the area to be covered with a cloth and isopropyl alcohol, then let it dry before applying. Shoe GOO is *sticky* and can be messy. I apply in small areas only. I've found the absolute best way to shape it is to put on the amount I need, then smooth it with a well-licked finger. ShoeGOO doesn't stick to saliva. (I know, yuck, right? But it works.) With these tricks, it's easy to get a useful layer where you want it. My biggest gripe was that the original, clear ShoeGOO turned brownish-yellow and looked bad. This new BLACK version addresses my biggest gripe.

Worked great
Worked great to adhere a sole that had detached from a shoe. Be careful not to apply too much, it's a bit of a mess to wipe off once on the shoe. But holds great.

Good product
Have used for years. Seals the holes in my enamel pots that I use for compost. Sealed the crack in the bottom of my brand new bottle of soft scrub. I also use it to reglue my sandals soles.

Good for repair the soles of boots and other shoes.
Although it did fix the soles of my boots, it only lasted about 90 days and had to fix it again. Also the adhesive is black like tar and it gets everywhere. I have to use gloves. I repaired two pairs of boots and still had enough left over for a few more repair.

Necessity for Whitten barefoot shoes
I have used this stuff for years. Clean and dry you're shoes before using and use whatever means you can cobble up to hold the joint tight till they dry. Thumb tacks work well sometimes. If you're buying the Whitten barefoot shoes go ahead and get a tube of this stuff because the soles fall off of those things quickly.

Truly Incredible Product
I have been using Shoe Goo for over 30 years to extend the lives of my work shoes. I used to load delivery trucks and walking back and forth on the loading docks would wear down the heels of my shoes while the uppers were still like new. Shoe Goo applied in layers helps build back the soles and wears incredibly well and adheres great as well. It only takes about a day to cure. I use alcohol to clean the surface and dry it before applying just to make sure it sticks. The negative reviews I see for this are mostly from user error and ignorance of what this does. This Shoe Goo is not really intended for gluing shoes back together. Gluing soles or edges of soles is much better done by super glue. This really excels as rubber mending or rebuilding product. I have used this to fix all kinds of rubber things. It lasts for years too. I put some of this on a hair dryer on/off slide switch which had no traction and was hard to operate as my finger would slide. This fixed the problem and is still working 8 years later and I use it every day! This is really an amazing product. You will not find anything else that does what this does and it isn’t expensive. I always keep a tube of this around and so should you. Highly recommend.

It's a real good quick fix for the skating holes in your shoes. I tried using the skateboard after mending the holes with shoe goo and it is working fine. Wasnt sure about the shoe goo color and I got black. Would be better if they mention which color shoe goo they are sending. I was under the impression that only the transparent shoe goo is available. The product helps mending your shoes. Use an ice cube to spread it uniformly around the area, that way it glue wont stick to your fingers, also, instead of using your finger as a support to keep the glue from seeping in inside your shoes, use a tape. You can remove it once it the glue dries. Ideally 12 hours of drying is required.
