Stringing a reel is a pain without the right setup. this little unit does the job. Not flashy, but functional. All you need. Table clamp is sturdy and performs well. I would never try to re-string a reel without this again. Worth the money for sure.

I was tired of paying our local tackle shop to spool our various fishing reels as they charge more for the braided line they carry vs Amazon prices and they of course charge a small fee for doing the work. This tool is super affordable and well constructed. Made from machined metal it should last a lifetime if you’re not using it professionally. I used it for the first time without issue. A couple of things I learned while using it for the first time: make sure you have a good amount of tension/pinch on your spool of fishing line. Not so tight where it can’t spin freely, but enough where the spool won’t wobble in the tool. Also make sure when you’re holding your fishing reel and reeling in new line off the spool to keep the reel parallel to the floor. If your tilt the reel up or down while reeling it won’t spool as well and you may end up with a slightly cone shaped spool of line. I’ll be using this with our 7 foot pole spinning reels and heavier 9 foot surf pole spinning reels.

I use this with small electrical wire spools. Works great as a holder. Keeps the wire tight for a proper measurement. Have also used it on fishing line, and works equally well. The base has 2 options for mounting the spool holder, they both have their moments. The base is made of aluminum, and the holder is stainless steel. The spool pressure pieces are aluminum as well. My only issue is the springs that apply pressure to the spool pieces. These springs are pretty weak, I will probably have to upgrade them at some point. The other spring issue is they fall off the shaft really easily. So you've gotta be over a table or something if they fall off to catch them. I put a towel down on top of my work bench for just that reason. Overall it's a good, affordable option.

Works just as it should. I had problem with the suction version, so I went with the clamp. It's much better. I was able to put my large 1000 yard spool of Seaguar red label 15lb flouro on it. The only thing is, you have to remove the outer springs. Or at least one of them. No big deal at all. It's a little "squeaky" sounding, but I feel like it would squeak like that with the spring anyway. Works just fine! I needed one for larger spools and I have no issues with it at all. Could probably even remove all the parts, put the spool on, and just use 1 clamp and it would probably work just fine that way as well.

I was attracted to the price and simplicity of this spooler. You can conveniently secure it to almost anywhere. Everyone’s seem to be of different materials after reading the reviews. Every piece in mine was aluminum minus the rubber gaskets to hold the fasteners. Be careful with how tight you fasten the wing nuts down, it shred’s the aluminum spool bar fairly easily. The rubber grips aren’t secured too well with whatever adhesive they used. Minus those “negatives”, I really like this thing and I no longer have to run a rod through the sides of my crocs to spool my reels.
