After discovering Murphy Swivel Hinges, I knew it was what I needed for my secret, hidden bookshelves! We needed to be able to access the pocket door hardware if they ever needed replacing, as well as the plumbing behind the shower. Tambee had great reviews so I thought I'd give em a try. Things to note: 1. Truly sturdy hardware with a high weight capacity. 2. Instructions kinda suck - small print, measurements in mm, and totally meant for pre-fab doors so you'll have to do a bit more troubleshooting and thinking for your own custom project. Did I mention that mine looked unlike the ones other people received? 3. For those with woodworking skills only! My husband and I had to pull out a laser and router, to name a few useful tools. I imagine chiseling would be incredibly time consuming. 4. They are quiet! Overall, I'm extremely pleased with this and would buy them again, without a doubt.

I bought these hinges for our chapel door after trying double action hinges from Home Depot that failed miserably. These hinges use a simple mechanism and not only hold the 70+ pound doors without drooping, but also swing silently and smoothly. It was a bit of work to install, but worth it. Very happy with the product.

Without prior experience with similar product the instructions are of little use. They package came crushed with everything loose in the bag. However after getting things figured out the door opens and closes I recessed both bottom and top hinges and gave the door 1/8 clearance top and 3/16 at the bottom. It seems to be working good the door is fairly heavy and hangs straight. But time will tell
