Great 144 Hz monitor, reliable with heavy use
I purchased this 144 Hz monitor in July 2019 but didn't really start using it until March 2020 when so many of us began working from home due to COVID-19. Over the past 5-6 months, this monitor has seen very heavy use averaging 12-16 hrs per day, with absolutely no problems. Color and contrast are great, with no flickering or any other issues. Netflix looks good. It's worth noting that the output is much sharper when connected to the Display Port at 144Hz (143 Hz as shown in my Dell Latitude 7300's display settings). This drops down to 60 Hz when I switch to my 2nd laptop hooked up to HDMI. So to really maximize display quality, you should really need to connect using a DP cable. However, I've used it extensively via HDMI at 60Hz, and it still looks really good. Overall, I'm very happy with this purchase. Really great performance for the price that will last me for many years. Am also considering purchasing a 2nd so I can have a dual monitor setup.

Good monitor
I bought this to use for my Xbox FPS games (primarily PUBG) since I was playing on a 42" TV. The 1ms response 144hz makes a difference. I can see distance much better and the picture is much clearer. Also less screen blur and a clearer transitions when going from target to target. ADS is smoother as well. Just overall smoothness. Character seems to do what I want at the same time I'm pressing the button instead of just a slight out of sync feel. I also have this as a dual monitor to my iMac. Bought a $10 cable from Amazon to connect and everything worked out well. Monitor has numerous settings to adjust to your level of brightness, sharpness, rendering, etc. I don't understand it all but I've tweaked a few things for me and it appears to be working well. Also has a gaming setting where you can optionally include a permanent crosshair to the center of the screen. Might work well on some games but it doesn't line up correctly for PUBG so it's a no go. Has 2 HDMI ports and a DP. Comes with a 3' HDMI cable and power cord. Has mount points if you want to mount and comes with a easy to assemble stand. Only thing I wish it had was 4k but that would make it too expensive and I really don't need it. Still a HD monitor.

Wonderful for eye/headache issues
I wrote 2 reviews already that got eaten by the Vapor Monster and didn't post, so I'll keep this shorter. I love this monitor and am frankly quite stunned. I suffer from severe occipital migraines and lots of eye issues which has forced me to barely be online anymore. I have gone through 4 monitors in the last 7 years, and even bought a $ special monitor recommended by the Epilepsy foundation which has a built in Blue Screen filter. AND I use an app that is a blue screen filter. AND I wear yellow industrial sunglasses. Result? I have no idea what colors I'm looking at, I look silly, and all I did was fiddle with controls. None of this helped. I was about to give up when I thought well, I'll buy a new monitor, and see how it goes. This monitor was a great price and I have been very happy with past Acer products so I bought it. I sat with my mouth open for about 40 minutes while hooking this monitor up. It is beautiful. Crisp, clear and best of all, the controls to change brightness/contrast/and everything else are SO easy and intuitive. Best yet, this monitor has a FAST refresh rate (I have mine on a refresh rate of 120) which is vital to easing eyestrain and headaches. (Most monitors stick you at 60 which is *the* exact refresh rate that induces epileptic episodes and other brain/neurological issues - even feeling icky or having your heart speed up as you watch movies or play games.) There are tons of gaming options, color options, calibrating. I'm sure other reviewers have gone into all this, so I won't. I do a lot of graphic work on photos and love looking at other people's artwork and photos - this monitor has me seeing details of things I swear weren't even there. I have been able to do much more and I can read text so much better. I alos like that I can change the resolution of the screen since moving my eyes a lot causes issues so I don't "need" this big a screen but in the past when I'd try to change it the pages wouldn't show well. The text would get smashed, shrink down to ant-size or I just couldn't do it. I haven't had any problem even putting it on 800x600 though I do have it bigger. I also like that the black frame around the screen is a bit wider than most so is perfect for Post-It notes, reminders and Hello Kitty stickers (no computer is compete without some.) This is just terrific, I highly recommend.

It's good, but a few issues prevent this monitor from being great.
First things first this is a very nice little 144hz monitor. Yes, this is a 144hz monitor. People in the reviews seem to be oblivious to the fact that you need a DP cable to reach 144hz. A HDMI will only get you to 60hz. On top of this, PS4 and Xbox One only play at 60hz. If you're buying this for console gaming, don't bother. The amount of questions/reviews I saw asking about these issues was absurd, so hopefully I helped clear that up for anyone confused. Now to get into the pros/cons... Pros: - The price. I bought this for $169 ($192 after tax), which seems like a fair price. - The speakers are actually surprisingly good. I mainly use a headset, but it's nice knowing that the speakers aren't absolute garbage like other monitors - PC gaming looks great. 144hz is a game changer, and the screen quality and resolution is exactly what you'd expect. Cons: - The bezels. After using the Scepter 165hz monitor I was shocked to see just how large the bezels are on the Acer monitor. To give an understandable comparison, if the Scepter monitor is the iPhone X, the Acer KG241Q is an iPhone 5. - The monitor stand. Holy cow this thing sucks. For one it's super bulky and cumbersome. Secondly it is completely static. You can't move it side to side or adjust the height. Adding on, you can BARELY adjust the angle of the screen. The screen either stands up completely straight, or you can "rotate" it maybe 15 degrees tops. Super frustrating. - Overall the monitor feels very "cheap". From the stand, to the input buttons, it feels like a top of the line monitor from 5 years ago. Overall this is a good monitor. It's 144hz and it works, so in that regard buy with confidence. That being said, my Sceptre E255B-1658A is so much better in so many ways and it is the exact same price as this monitor. My brother also has the Acer XFA240 ($199), and if you have an extra $20 to spend, I recommend that option instead.

Good out of the box, better after playing with settings.
Worked right out of the box. Straight 144hz, g-sync saw it and enabled even though it's not "supported" Had to adjust a few settings to my liking, but that was quick and easy with the OSD. Even allows to save presets for easy swapping, although you cannot rename the presets seems a little washed out, but after playing with more settings it is very good especially after gaming on a 60hz monitor for years. The perfect budget upgrade to my setup.

LOVE THIS MONITOR!
I love this monitor. This is the first 144hz monitor I’ve purchased and I am extremely pleased with it for gaming purposes especially. The picture quality is phenomenal and the gameplay is very smooth. With the lighting in my room, there is rarely any reflection, besides when the sun shines in, but other than that it’s a perfect monitor for me. Only thing I don’t like is the stand it comes with, it comes out forward too far, but if you mount it on the wall or on a desk mount, you will have no issues. Recommend to gamers everywhere.

4+ years without a problem
I've noticed this product is no longer available, so I thought I'd leave a review for any potential buyers who might happen to be considering a third party used monitor or this model. I've had this monitor since April 2021, still going strong. 4 years strong speaks volume for its durability. At that time I paid $190.99 for this monitor. I'd say 4 years use so far is pretty good value. I currently use this monitor in a quad set-up of monitors. When compared to the other displays, the brightness is average and the color replication is accurate. I do actually notice I win more in FPS games when playing on this monitor compared to my 4K 60HZ LG TV monitor. As for the dead pixels the other reviewers mention, I have not experienced that. I will definitely keep Acer in mind when going for a potential monitor upgrade in the future.

Great monitor
Bought this monitor because it was on sale and had good reviews. Very solid product and really helps the gaming experience. I don't know a lot about monitors and I'm guessing you could spend way more than this cost, but what would be the point? This monitor looks great, was easy to adjust the setting to customize picture quality, and is very affordable.

There’s better monitors out there for the same price
Have had it for about 2 years and I’ve been very pleased other than the horrendous stand that is NON-adjustable. Eventually over time the monitor says forward a bit. It’s good for a budget setup for 144hz 1ms gaming in 1080p but this is a TN and won’t be the most vibrant or visually pleasing for pve gaming. Good for budget bad for what’s currently on the market at similar prices. Hell for $100 you can get a 240hz 1ms IPS panel on Amazon.

Excelente
