I wonder if, when cars appeared on the market, if horses became inexpensive? As a new technology like solid state storage becomes more mainstream, really good mechanical drives become dirt cheap. I can't believe I could by a 4TB drive for well under $60. But here it is, a name-brand 4TB drive that works great and has lots of storage. My first Winchester disk drive was $1100 and had 30MB ($36/MB). This is 4TB for $55 (or $0.000014/MB). If you need storage, it would be difficult to find a better deal. This unit arrived exactly as advertised and installed easily. I had to partition the drive and format it, but after that, I am rocking some major backup storage. This is so nice, I will buy 3 more drives and put them into a RAID configuration so that I have backups for all my drives. At this price, it seems foolish not to. Note that this is an OEM drive, so that is all you get. No manuals, no cables. But the packaging seems solid so there was no damage during shipping. The 7200 RPM isn't going to set any data transfer records compared to solid state, but hey considering that they are about 7X more expensive per MB than this drive, who cares how fast it is? Especially if you use them as file storage or backup like I am. Overall Grade = A+

I have 30 of these in my servers at home. Some I purchased recently to expand VM drive space and backup storage, others I have had for several years. They seem to keep trucking along and doing what they were built to do. I have been very happy with Western Digital Drives and over all the years I have used them I have only ever had one drive die on me and Western Digitial replaced it as the warranty promised it would. If you need some affordable and dependable storage, these drives will get the job done.

was super excited about this and was let down almost instantly. the drive worked when the computer came on. but after that it didn't; i tried moving files over to it and it failed causing my computer to freeze to the point i had to restart it. then i downloaded the WD utility software to check the health of the drive and to no surprise the couldn't run diagnostics on it nor did it show it's health readings. These drives are tampered with so much that it couldn't even do basic task or basic diagnostics. please don't but renewed drives from these people!

I purchased 4, 4G drives to put into a 3 drive raid 5 array. I went through the standard initialization process and one drive had an excessive amount of bad sectors. I swapped the 'spare' into the array and everything was fine. I contacted Evrymm and explained the situation and within days I had a postage paid label to return the bad drive. All drives are still running without any issues and I'll definitely be buying again from Evrymm. Thank you very much for your great prices and support.

not a bad deal for refurbished item seem pretty good so far works in raid just fine

I installed this on my son's PC because he was filling SSDs with Steam games in minutes. 6 games filled a 512GB SSD in no time. This is why we have the good old hard disk option. The cost-per-GB is perfect for our needs. This drive has been cranking out game after game for a couple months now with no issues. Performance is excellent too. Sure, there's a bit of a drop compared to the SSD when loading a game, but afterwards the difference is negligible. I highly recommend this over a $600+ 4TB SSD - especially if you're using it for gaming.

First off I am an IT professional. I purchased these drives to upgrade the storage capacity of my UnRaid server. I was skeptical at first being they are Refurbished. But opening the boxes they came in and receiving a 5yr warranty on drive failure restored my faith in these drives. A little about how they got used on the first install. Once installed into my configuration, these drives immediately went into a rebuild of the data. This consisted of 9 hrs at 120-150 MB/s and just over1Billion writes to the drive. They were loud during this time but to be expected. I have had these drives installed in this system for 1 week now without one error or problem. If all drives come with this type of guarantee/warranty I will buy the last few I need form this client.
