I have recently dived into Arabic scents, in particular oud scents after the recommendation of a friend. Shaghaf Oud Aswad by Swiss Arabian was a perfect blind buy. The smell at first to me smells synthetic, herbal almost medicinal but the dry down is where the magic happens. It is difficult explain the frag and I would say that it is slightly floral, slightly sweet with a earthy, woody smell of patchouli, sandalwood and oud, almost like the smell of a temple. The notes on Swiss Arabian are top notes of saffron, thyme and rose with middle notes of coriander, cumin, rose, Jasmin, patchouli, oud and base notes of musk, sandalwood, leather, oud, amber and vanilla. It's described as a unisex scent and defiantly think this would work on a man as well as it does on myself, as a women. I am so pleased with this purchase and am totally in love with the scent and cannot stop wearing it. The longevity is 10 hours plus and it is a powerful scent, with a few sprays being more than enough for me. Highly recommend this, great value for money. Beautiful bottle and box. Well worth the price point.

If you like earthy oud,you'll like this.very earthy then it ramps up in the dry down. Excellent projection as well.

So, I know a lot of reviews had good things to say about this product. However, I’ve heard around that the formula for this perfume has been changed which is probably why I’m not that keen on it. Also, the bottle of mine isn’t the same as in the picture which annoyed me a bit because I’m hoping that this is the real scent, and they’ve just changed the bottle? I can’t return it, as the package was sealed and I couldn’t see the bottle until opening but anyways. - When I was looking at reviews, they all said the scent was rosey and oudy similar to their regular shagaf oud (gold bottle) however I’m not picking up on that at all. It smells quite masculine now, even though reviews said it’s quite feminine. A lot of people compared the shagaf fragrances to our bouquet - which I do own - and smelling them next to each other doesn’t really justify the claims. Shagaf oud aswad just smells a bit harsher than oud bouquet. As it dries down, I’d say it gets more powdery and sweet but I guess it’s all down to individual tastes and preferences. Saying all this, I’ll still probably wear this as it does have an oud smell to it and lasts well. I’d say it’s got good longevity as I sprayed it on myself and can still smell it about 4 hours later. Some people exaggerate with its longevity, but I guess that depends on how much you’re using. Just a tip though, spray on your clothes to prevent nose-blindness. For the price you’re paying, I’d say spend a bit more and buy a higher end perfume.

Lowkey smells like Oud conceltrate and nothing else

What I found out this year about these fragrances is that. You have to pray these perfumes about 10 times and letbitbset for a few weeks sometime a few months. It needs to marinate. I threw most away because I had no knowledge. I did some research and you will be happy if you follow instructions. I thought all my watched were stinky and smelled the same. Well they make the perfumes and colones the same day and ship out as ordered. It is not lacerated yet. Weird I know. Well we not dealing with the USA. This is different for me and other. My perfumes smell so good . Better than the original makers. It's more oils in these type fragrances. I hope I have been a help. Inhad to repurchase the once I through away. Now if your perfumed is not settles or smelling good in a few months maybe 3. You have a bad batch. Return. Now they are getting a little better.
