I order this red rice and serve it at least once a week. Not only is it very tasty with an earthy, nutty flavor. The texture is good. Not mushy or crunchy. I like to use my microwave rice cooker. One cup of rice to 2 3/4 cups of water, and a bout 1 teaspoon of salt or salt substitute stirred in. Cook it for 18 - 25 minutes, depending on your microwave wattage,( mine is 900 watts), then allow it to sit in the microwave for about 10 - 15 minutes (don't open the door or attempt tostir it up just let it rest and finish cooking in the hot microwave), after the timer goes off. It has been perfect every time. It's great to have when you want to make something easy and different for a side dish. It's very good quality, and priced right for the amount that you get. I have also used this in many ways. Mixed 1/2 and 1/2 with white rice, and brown rice and it's very tasty. I've also made my own grain/legume mixture, using the red rice, brown rice, millet, quinoa, and lentils for a really tasty dish. I cook this on my stovetop, because you have to adjust the cooking liquid (water or broth), accordingly throughout the cooking process.

We love our rice. Good quality, flavor, texture.

I'm compelled to post an update here...because of my ignorance about the dangers of mold on rice I ended up with sudden sensorineural hearing loss after inhaling, and worse, cooking and eating, the moldy smelling rice. It began as typical allergy symptoms right after first opening the bag with severe congestion and muffled hearing. Over the next few days, congestion improved but hearing in one ear continued to worsen, and I now nearly a month later, Ive been diagnosed with severe, possibly permanent, unilateral hearing loss. Devastating. Please heed this caution, look up mycotoxins, and If any grain you ever buy ever has a musty or earthy smell to it, throw it out immediately! --------- Like another reviewer noted, the rice we received was not the long grain variety shown in the seller's photos, but very short grained. It came vacuum sealed and appeared to be dry, but there is a strong earthy smell unlike any other rice I've had before. I thought perhaps it was just the way this variety smelled in it's raw form. Upon cooking, though, the smell remained and the taste is....yuck, not good. Not like rice. Rather like bread mold. We will be throwing it all away. So disappointed to waste money.

This rice back taste is excellent, and this red rice has terrific health benefits. Their packing is airtight seal packing, and it looks solid form. After opening it, it goes back to the regular rice bag. I had never seen it before and complained to Amazon customer service for a refund. They usually provide first-class customer service and immediately offer a refund for my purchase. I recommended this great product to others. Thank you.

This brand of Red Rice has the best FLAVOR of any rice we've tried and is also organic! Red rice, similar to brown rice, has more fiber than white rice, and also likely has more micronutrients (although hard proof of this is still lacking). But the flavor of this red rice is stellar and has become the only rice we eat.

What can I say this is rice. I was hoping it would blow my mind with being different from the usual rice. It is as compared to white rice. Compared to other colored rice I think I prefer black rice. Both black and red have better nutritional qualities, which is the main reason I purchased them, however I think the red is a little better nutritionally speaking. The UN is evil, and they want to ban rice, a third of the world population depends on RICE. They are pulling fertilizer and encouraging governments to declare farming is bad. No the UN is bad, and organic healthy food grown by people experienced in agriculture specifically skilled is who I want to grow my food. I recommend this but am alarmed how fast the price changes too.

Have purchased this many times over the years and sometimes it has a very musty earthy smell and taste similar to a brownie rice from another seller Dispatch however tastes good with no musty old stale earthy smell which unfortunately is the normal for this brand of rice n It is the best price for organic red Asian grown rice which is why I continue buying it n I hope the next batch is also like this current batch, and it's free from musty stale old smell and taste n I parboiled this rice and it came out good I also boiled this rice like pasta to ensure it was stayed moist when stored in the fridge and this technique prevented the dryness that usually occurs with this rice when stored in the fridge Honestly previous batches I have really disliked a lot and had to mask the earthy smell and taste with a lot of curry powder and other sneezings Again thankfully dispatch requires no such masking and taste OK to good by itself. We will see how the next batch turns out...
